DunePearlEdge Posted February 25, 2016 Report Share Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) I noticed some slight vibration in the drivetrain of my 2007 AWD Edge. Upon closer inspection it looks like the both center driveshaft bearings need replacement - I can see daylight around the black rubber (see the attached picture) and I can wiggle them around with my hand. I assume this isn't normal. Can these bearings be replaced without replacing the entire driveshaft? WWWPerfA_ZN0W Posted February 26, 2016 Report Share Posted February 26, 2016 Jiffy Lube??? Umm ... no. If looking for just the bearings, you will have to make your Edge the guinea pig. Measure the OEM part & find equivalents at, say, NAPA. For a new driveshaft, best to go to a Ford dealer like AutoNation (should be one close to you). And was it just a simple swap to use the 2 piece drive shaft in its place? I am currently having the same issue on my 2008 Edge and don't want to have to spend almost double for the 3 piece drive shaft. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! I'm fixing it for my mother and have zero experience with the Edge. I know it's been done on the MKX which is basically the same vehicle. Just want some. Confirmation before pulling the trigger.
