2013 Ford Edge Door Lock/Unlock Problem

Recommended Posts

it could be a number of things. it could be the actuator (motor) has died. The wiring to it may be disconnected. the linkage could be broken.

can you hear the actuator working when you put your ear on the door? if yes, then it's the linkage. if no, it's one of the first two things

all of these will require you to take off the door panel and have a look. it's not that tough of a job if you're used to working on cars. otherwise any mechanic should be able to do it.

Does the passenger lock button work?  If so it’s probably the switch.  If not How old is your battery?  Batteries only last 3-4 years typically and a weak battery can seem to work fine but cause strange problems.  If it’s not the battery then try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few minutes.

Does it lock/unlock with the FOB?  (Assuming you were talking about the interior lock/unlock switches). If you 'were' talking about the FOB, try the interior switches.
