It would be very interesting if you could ask a performance team member in North Carolina to demonstrate the use of the shift paddles in the S mode, paying particular attention to the shift from 3rd to 4th gear. There have been many posts expressing concern about the weirdness in the shift from 3rd to 4th gear in the S mode when using the shift paddles. Some owners are even questioning the intended use and how to effectively use paddles in the S mode.
