Does anyone have the Ford Troubleshooting procedure for the sunroof on a 2013 Ford Edge Limited?

I performed the reset procedure several times and it worked once but messed up by opening the sunroof again to test it and it won’t close completely and will not reset now.

I’ve cleaned the tracks with a nylon brush and lubed them with white lithium grease.

Pinpoint Test E: The Roof Opening Panel Does Not Open or Close — Sliding Glass Panel or Shades Inoperative

The roof opening panel motors must be initialized whenever any of the following occur:

  • the roof opening sliding glass panel motor has been removed.
  • a new roof opening sliding glass panel motor has been installed.
  • a new roof opening panel module assembly has been installed.

Refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization attached .below.

Refer to Roof Opening Panel Wiring Diagrams for schematic and connector information, attached .below.

Normal Operation

The roof opening panel uses an integrated motor and module to operate the roof opening sliding glass panel and shades.

NOTE: The roof opening panel control switch operates both the power shade and the sliding glass panel. The sliding glass panel opens after the shade panels are open. The shade panels close only after the sliding glass panel is closed.

NOTE: Any sliding glass opening operation first fully opens the shade panels. Before closing the shade panels, fully close or make sure the sliding glass panel is fully closed.

The roof opening sliding glass panel motor receives voltage from the accessory delay relay when the ignition is in the ACC or RUN position. The roof opening sliding glass panel motor and roof opening panel shade motor also receive voltage at all times through another power circuit. Ground is supplied to the roof opening sliding glass panel motor, roof opening panel shade motor and roof opening panel switch. The roof opening panel switch supplies ground signal(s) to the sliding glass panel motor for opening and closing operations.

When commanding the glass to open, the sliding glass motor either requests the shade motor to fully open the shades (if they are not already in the fully OPEN position) or the roof opening panel sliding glass moves to the OPEN position.

When commanding the glass to close, the sliding glass motor closes the sliding glass panel to the safety stop position (approximately 280 mm (11.023 in) from the fully CLOSED position). Pull and hold the roof opening panel switch until the sliding glass panel has completely closed before pulling the switch again to close the shades. For information about the roof opening sliding glass panel and shade operation, refer to Roof Opening Panel attached below.

The roof opening sliding glass panel motor acts as a master controller to the shade motor. The sliding glass panel motor and shade motor communicate to each other through a dedicated circuit within the roof opening panel jumper harness. The sliding glass panel motor and shade motor do not communicate to the vehicle network.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

  • Fuse(s)
  • Accessory delay relay
  • Roof opening sliding glass panel motor not initialized
  • Roof opening panel shade motor not initialized
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Roof opening panel switch
  • Roof opening panel shade motor
  • Roof opening sliding glass panel motor

PINPOINT TEST E : THE ROOF OPENING PANEL DOES NOT OPEN OR CLOSE — SLIDING GLASS PANEL OR SHADES INOPERATIVE

NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector. E1  CHECK THE POWER WINDOWS
