Pitting fog light chrome

DKS

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 2008 Edge LTD with 25,000 miles on it. Loaded car and I really like it. My first Ford since 1975. No more Government Motors for me. The car is in really good condition and when I get the leftover cigarette smoke out of it I think it will be a terrific vehicle. I noticed the chrome arouind the fog lights seems to be pitting. Is this a common issue? Since the car is under warranty, would Ford cover a replacement. I know nothing about dealing with Ford and warranty work.

Does anyone have the part number for this chrome piece? And a good place to buy it online. From what I understand its not covered under warranty.

You may want to call the local Ford dealership though and confirm it before you have them order them. Not sure if that's the chrome surround or not.

When I looked online on what I thought it was it was $100. When I went to the dealer it was $50. So I knew I had the wrong part, and was sure I could get it cheaper online. I asked if it was covered under warranty, they told me "broken or missing parts aren't covered".

It's not broken or missing... It's DEFECTIVE. I would think it should be covered. I had 4 18" chrome clad wheels replaced due to corrosion on the outer edges.

I would argue it. Good luck
