Ambient Lighting - Fix

If you're one of the folks who's experiencing the ambient lighting issue where the green and blue are reversed and would like to get it fixed, head on over to the ford owner to owner forum, there is a Sync specialist there named Mike who fixed me up. He emailed the fix to me today, I loaded it up, only took a few seconds and then a reboot and every things fine now.

 

In his email he said the reboot procedure was specific to my vehicle so I won't upload here what he sent me but you can ask for it just the same as I did there.

I also did this fix today.

 

Fixes the switch of the blue and green and also corrects the color on the 4 corners on the 8" screen.

 

How do you get a hold of this sync guy Mike? I really would love my colors to work and my 4 colors on my 8" screen to be correct again! Please let me know guys! I went to that link you posted and I cant seem to understand how to contact this guy! Can you guys send me the fix via email? Thanks!!!

hey Curly .. I see u been posting alot in these forums and have the same issues as me.. How did you get a hold of the fix and Mike? Did you too have the Lincoln logo as the default wallpaper? My 2 colors are switched around and the colors in the 8" screen are not correct either, I see that Mike sent you the fix Can you point me in the right direction ? Thanks!!!!

Go to the link and reply that you have the problem and that you would like the fix (I am assuming that you have registered at the site, if not you will probably have to) and you will get an e-mail in a day or so. Heck of a way to operate but that is the way it is. Fix is supposedly vehicle specific so e-mail won't work.

I do not have the Lincoln Logo, never did, at least the tech that did my update got that right. See previous post for getting the fix. Fixes are vehicle specific so you will have to go the link and tell them you want the fix. Several others have replied, and I assume they also got the fix.

Yes - Tulsa said to go to the ford owner to owner forum and make the request there to Mike and provided the link. Nobody here can get it for you.

Well, Im happy to report back here.. Picked up my Limited last night from my Ford dealer.. and MY SYNC is NOW perfect. I have the Gen 2 update installed, ALL my colors are CORRECT like they should be ( 4 corners are Ford Now, Ambient light orbs are ALL correct colors and NOT switched around and I have a FORD logo for my Default Wallpaper ) ALL Sync Funtions are FINE , Backup Camera, climate controls, blue tooth, volume on steering wheel is all good seems like the LEAD tech at the dealer got it right, after I called FORD Cust Service and made a report and the nice guy at ford gave me his number called the dealer several times and was on point! Also Mike from this forum is wonderful! He contacted me and emailed me the fix in case I got to the dealer last night and I still had the Lincoln issue and colors , But I didnt need his USB trick! But I had it as AMMO ... He is GREAT if your dealer cant get your graphics back to ford colors and logo HE WILL! THis forum ROCKS and all you guys are GREAT! AND A BIG THANK YOU TO MIKE FROM SYNC! The ONLY guy who new what was going with the Color and logo issue..

 

And YES you need to go to Owner to Owner Group to contact Mike.. Sent a message on the owner to owner wed night Thrus AM I had an email and in 2 hours had the fix file! Mike is GREAT!

Just a clarification - "this forum" refers to the Sync community owner to owner forum, not the Edge forum.

Did I say free, maybe he can make so money

 

Assuming it was possible to add the nav to those vehicles without that option included at purchase, it would be nice if he could help with unlocking the software so I could go to my dealer and buy the nav SD card. A lot of what-ifs, I know. I just appreciate Mike helping out those who had the lighting issue.

I would give him 100.00 for the programing and you can probably find the SD cards on Ebay .

I assume he's a Ford employee so why would he do that? And even if he was willing to give you the software and you could buy the SD card on ebay, it still won't work because the SD card has to be married to the software.

The Nav system is tied to your vehicle by the VIN number. To make the Nav system work in a non NAV equipped vehicle (assuming it can be done) it would require a "hacked" version of the software to bypass this.

 

And if you ever had to take your vehicle into a dealer for an update, like the last one, if would be made non operational again. Might also void your warranty if Ford caught it.

 

As the guy is either a Ford or Microsoft employee I don't think he is going to risk his job for something like this.

You would be WRONG again,SD cards are not married to the software.Where do you get this WRONG info.

The dealership I go to uses 1 SD card for test drives
