New Update April 11 2011

So I went to the dealer today to get my winter tires switched over to my summer tires, they told me there was a dealer install update for my 2011 ford edge limited, so I told them to go ahead with it. 6 Hours and 5 tries later the update was installed successfully.

The only thing I see that's fixed is the ambient lighting works perfectly now, blue is blue and green is green.

Does anyone else notice what this update fixed?

I have 2.7 (installed a few weeks ago)

I noticed SyncMyRide tells me there is an update available..

There are important updates for your vehicle. Please click Get Updates.

But nothing is there except the status update checker.

That's weird... maybe it's getting ready for a transition?

EDIT: checked and its the same for me... going to install the status checker on a USB drive once I get this computer to shutdown properly. banghead.gif

I get the same when I check SyncMyRide and I'm on v2.4. Doesn't even say the new update is dealer install only.

I think this is showing up for everybody. On the Owner to Owner site it was reported to be a result of the Sync site upgrade over the weekend.

Still doesn't show I need any update. Still on 1.8.

Amazing that you are running 1.8!

I was reading the sync forums and there are threads there discussing the need to unplug USB drives before turning off the car and/or starting it.

I leave my iPod plugged in all the time. I was wondering if you leave anything plugged into your USB port.

Could this be why some folks have problems and others don't?

I have a 16 GB kingston USB key with 10 GB of music plugged in all the time, and a BB Curve 9300 running OS 5(yes phone calls, and contact pictures, and the occasional BT audio streaming works Haven't tried text messaging, but it shows up, I never text message, but I guess I should try.. sync 1.8 with about 3 auto reboots and 2 fuse pulls in over 6 months...

Sync is a bit laggy(white screen if you open and close the drivers door after shutting down etc), but eventually I should take it in and get an upgrade. I'm in canada so none of the travel link stuff is available or loaded it seems, so maybe my system has a bit more breathing room? uses less memory and seems to work longer without reboots?

I have a 32g ipod touch plugged in almost permanently (took it out for vacation) my iphone works for streaming and talking (all I care about). One reboot, no fuse pulls since September.

Just rolled over 7k miles, so almost time for an oil change - might do an update then.
