2011 Edge My Ford Touch question
akirby replied to emusnes's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Music (audio) only as far as I know. -
vibration coming from driver & passenger side under board
akirby replied to gloria's edge's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
It's possible the part with the teeth that the sensor reads is damaged thus throwing the wheel out of balance at high speed and causing the sensor errors. If that's the case then replacing the sensor won't fix it. If it was the sensor itself that wouldn't cause a vibration. But it could be the sensor that is bad and the vibration is unrelated. -
Provided you didn't leave the phone in the car.....

You can hear it lock when you touch the top of the handle and I assume it has the same red leds on top of the door to show they're locked like my 2013 Fusion.

They're fine. The comments were about the previous version which was cheap and just draped over the headrest posts.- 5 replies

I do wish Ford would autolock the car when the fob goes out of range (as an option that could be turned on or off). Especially when you can use the keypad to unlock it without the fob. Make sure you put in your own personal keypad code so you can remember it.

Not "super custom ordered" - just ordered from the factory. That way you get the exact color combination and options you want. Typically takes 6-8 weeks.

The warranty and less interest paid are good things but still not enough to offset a $10K bump. If you can afford it and you want the newer one get it. If you're waiting for financial justification you're not going to find it.
-
Here is a better way to look at it. Would you rather have the 2015 or the 2013 with $10K sitting in the front seat?
-
If you're just trying to justify the 2015 based strictly on $$ you can't. If you want the 2015 and you can afford the higher payment then go for it. Whether the $10k is interest or principal isn't really relevant - it's still money out of pocket.

It's a few hundred bucks I think.

I don't think the process they use to inspect, repair and release the vehicles really allows more detail. They know it's on hold and waiting to be inspected but I don't think even the Ford plant folks can tell you when a specific vehicle will ship. They don't know where your vehicle is parked in a sea of a few hundred or a few thousand. This is still nowhere near as bad as the Fusion/MKZ launch in late 2012/early 2013. Vehicles were actually shipped to Detroit for repair and it took months.
-
This happens ALL THE TIME with every mass produced vehicle. You just don't usually hear about it. Normally these would have probably been shipped and let the dealer sort out any problems but given the previous issues on the Edge I think they're going overboard.
-
Check out the other threads on factory holds for 2015 Edges. They're being inspected very carefully and released one at a time.
-
I know it goes up $100 after the first year but I think that's it.

Right - doesn't matter if you order now or next month, you won't see it before mid January at best and probably February just to be safe.

Negotiating Lease and then buy at end of lease?
akirby replied to mjonis's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
The reason for not putting much down is that if the vehicle gets totaled you may not get that money back because the insurance payoff goes to the leasing company. Otherwise it's not an issue especially if you have cash now or a trade-in and you want to lower your monthly payments. Ford leases have preset terms and conditions as far as I know so you can't really negotiate the MF, etc. Just think of leasing as just another finance option so yes negotiate the purchase price and any trade-in up front. If you have more equity in your trade-in than you want to put down on the lease just have them show you as a lienholder and they'll cut you a check for the difference. I've done this twice and used the money to pay off other vehicles. If you're ordering it's easy - just tell them what you want to order, how much you want to put down, get a trade-in appraisal. Then just compare the trade-in appraisal and monthly lease payments between dealers. If you have X plan or you buy now during friends and family the sale price is fixed so the only variable is the trade-in. -
Backup Camera at Night....Help Requested
akirby replied to WingNut's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Drape something dark over the top of the bumper to test it. -
The order banks for the 2016s opened last month. Job1 isn't until 12/2. You can order through the dealer but the Ford website probably won't be updated until sometime in December. The order guide is posted below.

Never heard a case where Ford didn't abide by their ESP warranty terms. That's the main reason for going with a Ford ESP in the first place - you won't get a runaround about something that should be covered not being covered. What you're probably seeing is people who don't know which parts are actually covered (clearly spelled out in the documentation) and thinking they should be getting more coverage than they actually paid for.
-
And you can purchase it any time during the 3/36k warranty. It's $100 cheaper during the first year though.

Way high. Any Ford dealer sells them or you can get them online. Flood Ford is a good option.
