Any code reader will check for historical codes even without a CEL, but that's probably not your issue. It sounds like the engine is turning over (cranking) just fine, it's just not starting. When it happens, does it work the second time you crank it (immediately) or does it not work at all for a short period of time? Does it usually happen in colder or warmer temps or at the same time of day (first thing in the am)?

Ford Extended Service Plan (ESP) Canada

Complete BS. Banks don't require any type of warranty coverage. -
No iPhone audio notifications with sync upgrade
akirby replied to normcloutier's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Simple - go back to the Sync connection on your phone and turn Notifications back on. -
That's CPO - certified pre owned.

The residual is the wholesale value - that's what a dealer would pay. They're going to mark that up before they sell it to you. If you happened to find one before it got turned in you could get the owner to buy it for you and pay them a small fee but that would be really lucky. If you want a warranty you might be better off buying a CPO vehicle. I would guess a CPO vehicle that wholesaled for $24K would probably cost closer to $30K retail. One option to keep costs down is to lease a new one, then buy it out and finance it for another 2-3 years if that's the goal.

There is a limit to what owners can fix on their own. Anything that requires reloading or updating software modules has to be done by a dealer. Don't confuse owner to owner help with the official FordService folks. FordService can't offer any assistance unless there is an open case and the only way to get an open case is to report it to a dealer. Therefore the first recommendation is to report it otherwise they can't help. Not sure what else you were expecting. There are dozens of how-tos for things that owners can do themselves.

Front seat not comfortable for short people

I think that's the difference between 6 way and 10 way power seats. Which model Edge do you have now? -
Ford Extended Service Plan (ESP) Canada
akirby replied to hassan.syed's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
The odds are never in your favor - like gambling in vegas. You might win occasionally but over the long run you'll save money by not buying them. That said, if you want one then the Ford ESP is the only choice. Flood Ford is one online vendor that is reported to have the best prices. I think the 7 yr/100K mile version with a $100 deductible is around $1500 (US) or less. You can buy from any dealer. -
Why Ford doesn't provide a drain plug and call for regular fluid replacements is beyond me.

It will include all regular vehicles. It's just no haggle x plan pricing which is around $150 over invoice but with higher doc fees I assume in most cases. Not really saving more than a couple hundred bucks at most. But no haggle pricing is nice and will bring in buyers.

I see now - I thought the pano roof was still optional on the Titanium 301a and 302a groups - didn't realize it was included in those groups. That explains why the roof rails aren't available on those packages. Hopefully it's just a typo as omar points out since they should be tied to the BAMR. If not, I think you can add them pretty easily.

Breadcrumbs on v3.8 doesn't clear out
akirby replied to drpepper's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I know exactly what your point is - that wasn't my question. Other than finding you way back in an unknown area, what do you use them for that would cause you to want to leave them on all the time? Just trying to understand... -
You read that wrong - the BAMR is INCLUDED with the Touring package and that package is optional on all Titanium equipment groups (300a/301a/302a). The roof rails have the same restrictions.

Breadcrumbs on v3.8 doesn't clear out

I thought breadcrumbs were only useful when you were driving in an unknown area. What is the benefit to leaving it on all the time? -
Heated and Cooled Seats
akirby replied to Wedgeamatic's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
You don't even need to provide that. Just tell them there is a new TSB. They have to look it up themselves either way. -
2015 FORD EDGE SPORT FINALLY BEING BUILT
akirby replied to baseball's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I think the folks still having significant problems have bad hardware and the dealers are either reluctant or unable to diagnose it and fix it. I agree about the quadrant system - it couldn't be any simpler or more intuitive yet people complain about it. -

Omar already posted the link to the F150 tsb in post 58. I'm sure it's the same. -

Excellent news. I was hoping they'd have this fixed before the 2016s come out. -
Did you read the order guide? The rails are clearly not available on the 301a and 302a packages - only the base 300a Titanium package (in addition to not being available with the BAMR). No idea why.

Just to clarify - you were dealing with a Ford Dealer, not Ford. If you had a bad experience with that Ford dealer, choose a different one. Any Ford dealer can do warranty work and Ford doesn't have much control over incompetent dealerships due to state franchise laws.

Dealerships hardly ever follow the mfrs recommended intervals - they want you to spend more money with them. Go by the owners manual.

2009-10 Edge & MKX Recall - Fuel Tank related
akirby replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Is that the original one or did they expand the vehicles covered as I predicted?
