  1. If that's the case then a job 2 switch to sync 3 and a free software upgrade would make sense. And that would confirm that there is still some software problem that hasn't been fully fixed yet on the MKX. My guess is it's related to the climate control module or Revel audio.
  2. You need to understand that Dealers are not Ford and Ford is not responsible for something your dealer did. There are state laws that prevent Ford from interfering in how the dealership operates. If you feel they did not store your vehicle properly then that's between you and the dealer, unfortunately. Ford can ask the dealer to help you but they have no legal way to force them, nor is it Ford's responsibility. If you took your vehicle to the dealer for an oil change and they forgot to refill it with oil, do you still think Ford would be responsible for that? Of course not. Dealers are independent businesses protected by state franchise laws.
  3. Nowhere does that site say the 2016 mkx has sync3. You select whether your vehicle has sync 2 MyLincolnTouch or sync3
  4. All of the order guides and websites say MyLincolnTouch, not sync3. And it's obvious from the display. Should not be a surprise. There has to be a good reason - could be some incompatibility with a mkx feature or something that isn't working right.
  5. The SJB is the problem. I was just saying the obd-II code reader wouldn't work on the SJB. It requires a Ford IDS tool that only dealers and a few mechanics have.
  6. Are you sure it's not just the 100 degree GA heat?
  7. I've never had to reboot an iphone due to a bluetooth issue. Sounds like a phone problem.
  8. Just a clarification - you didn't order a vehicle from Ford. You ordered a vehicle from the dealer. The dealer ordered a vehicle from Ford. Any time you order a vehicle that hasn't left the plant you have the potential for these types of problems, especially on a new design. It sucks and it shouldn't happen but it does. You would be even more upset if it was released and you took delivery and then still had a leak. At this point waiting until it can be properly fixed is the lesser of two evils.
  9. This is the only one I remember. It's in this category. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17965-driver-floor-is-soaking-wet/?do=findComment&comment=130631
  10. Not a DIY thing unfortunately. Probably need to see the dealer.
  11. You should have seen the 1960 Lincoln power steering on Fantomworx the other night. It was on the front of the engine with a shaft connected to the crankshaft running through it turning it. Required a special seal otherwise it leaked fluid everywhere. The correct seal didn't work - they had to go find a random one that fit better. The mechanic said if he ever found the guy who designed it he'd hurt him really bad.
  12. Probably - but it depends on what else they may have changed to accomodate it (mounts, etc.).
  13. Could be the stalk itself or the smart junction box.
  14. Or for a 2008, just put a pan underneath to catch the gas that's already leaking out..... (too soon?)
  15. In case you weren't aware, you can't get a hose into the tank to siphon it. In fact you need a special funnel (supplied with the vehicle) to pour anything into the tank. So in most cases you don't necessarily need a locking cap.
  16. Because everyone thinks it's ok to blame someone else.
  17. Sure - buckle up! You knew that was coming. Did you look in the owner's manual?
  18. I'm an IT professional. I did a lot of work on application outage resolution earlier in my career. Great story - we were having problems with a computer vendor. We were sending back cpu cards about once or twice per week for a few months. Every time they would test the failed cpu and it tested ok. (the real problem was it was overheating but I digress). One time the VP of the company was so happy he could actually report that they had found a bad chip on one of the returned cpu cards. My boss didn't bat an eye - she immediately said "what was wrong with the chip?". Dead silence. I was ROTFLMAO.
  19. Have you let it dry out completely? I would try disconnecting the battery lead for a few minutes to reset everything (after you're sure it's completely dry.
  20. Either processes weren't followed or the processes need revamping. Sometimes what appears as human error is really a failure in the process. Sometimes it's both. The key is to identify the root cause and institute an irreversible corrective action, whether that's more training, new employees or a process change. Or all 3.
  21. Could also be corrupted software. Dealer can reload it from scratch - that's probably the first thing they'll try.
