Nail in tire....Replace or plug how to reset the TPMS
akirby replied to onyxbfly's topic in Wheels & Tires
Most plugs work fine, but sometimes they can leak and there could also be damage inside the tire that you can't see with just a plug. Unmounting the tire and using a patch/plug from the inside is the only right way to fix it permanently, although a simple plug will work most of the time. -
Hard to believe someone would drive it with the airbag light on for any length of time without at least getting it checked out, but possible I guess. Could be as simple as a flaky battery or a loose connection under the seat. I would either have it checked out first or assume you'll have to pay for some type of repair and factor that into the cost.

Nail in tire....Replace or plug how to reset the TPMS

Kauffman tire here in Atlanta does free flat repairs, and it caused me to buy 2 sets of tires from them. Great PR and advertising move. -
The order bank doesn't open until 10/12 so the order guide won't be out for a few more weeks.

The order guide but I haven't seen it posted yet.

Nail in tire....Replace or plug how to reset the TPMS
akirby replied to onyxbfly's topic in Wheels & Tires
Take it to a local tire store and let them see if it can be patched (not plugged). Most places around here fix flats for free and they'll pull it off the wheel and patch it properly from the inside. TPMS should reset itself. -

ambient lighting problem after sync update
akirby replied to flyers27's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
What is FAR more likely is they released it and found a problem that they couldn't fix quickly (all resources were working on sync 3) so they pulled the update. If they didn't want to support it they never would have released it in the first place. -

Let's hope they come out with a MFT compatible version of Sync 3 that fixes all these software bugs. -
You can easily sell the one you have and buy one with the vista roof for far less money (and effort) than you'd spend trying to modify the current one.

ambient lighting problem after sync update
akirby replied to flyers27's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I sympathize with the other points, but the reason 3.7 isn't available on pre-2014s is some type of incompatibility between the MLT software and the vehicle hardware/other software. -
Job 1 is 12/2.

Huh? You only have to use one button to open it.

I think they just picked some colors and lighting that doesn't work for everybody.

Lots of similar complaints - was never an issue for me. I suspect some owners may have vision issues that make it worse.

It is listed specifically as a 2015 item but I would check with a local dealer first to be safe. Then again, if it's only $10.........

Driver floor is SOAKING WET
akirby replied to Blue_Edge15's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Typically they've allowed up to a $2500 more expensive replacement vehicle. I'm sure orders and dealer trades are ok but I don't think Ford would pay for a rental for 2 more months waiting on a special order.- 480 replies

Sorry I misread that one. There is a temp sensor that the PCM reads and uses to determine when to turn the fans on/off - maybe it's bad.
