If the peltier device is inside the seatback rather than under the seat, it would need some path to exhaust the heat. Maybe that path is blocked. Doesn't make sense they would move it to the seatback with no provision to exhaust the heat. Definitely report it so they know about it. You might want to check a new MKX as well.

The pre-2015s do not give you actual tire pressures. The 2015+ does.

Real leather seats or fake "pleather"?
akirby replied to Aurora733's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Don't believe everything (anything?) that PETA says. -
Or a bad shock.

The dealer fluid swap uses a machine that uses the cooler lines to swap out 95% of the fluid in one shot, without opening the transmission. It's far superior to dropping the pan. And I think Ford uses a synthetic or synthetic blend transmission fluid which will add to the cost no matter where you take it. But you certainly don't have to take it to the dealer.

Never heard of that before. It uses a peltier system with a blower but that's usually underneath the seat. Maybe an owner can check it and chime in.

Driver floor is SOAKING WET
akirby replied to Blue_Edge15's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
That's a perfectly logical explanation. The real failure was in the lack of inspection to identify the problem quickly.- 480 replies

2015 Ford Edge Sport 2.7 Ecoboost Fwd and AWD mods WANTED!!
akirby replied to sac811's topic in 2.7L EcoBoost
I think there are significant differences - the transmissions are different, the AWD system is completely different. The engine itself may have differences from the truck version. -

If only they would put this type of information in some kind of manual that comes with the vehicle for the owner to read....... -
Try Driver, although it won't make a huge difference.

Abnormal Steering on the 3.7 Sport
akirby replied to mcali6301's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I bet the warranty would have covered 2 new ones if the dealer had asked for it. But I agree on the ball joint diagnosis. Still need to get the struts at least checked to make sure they're both ok. -
Not unless you already have the triangles at the top front of the door panel - they hold the tweeter for the component setups. Don't remember if those were available on the 07 Edge. You can easily add them to the A pillar if you want to go components for the front. What was DSP set to? All seats, driver or rear?

Yeah, I decided to leave out the LMGTFY and RTFM remarks, as much as it pained me to do so........

Never replace only one shock unless the other one is also new. How old is the right one? That could be causing at least some of your problems. -

Unless the entire U.S. goes vegetarian, cow hides are waste products. -

Have you checked all of the sound settings? Do that first. Replacing the door speakers can help even with mid-bass depending on what you get. Infinity Kappas are popular as are Polk Audio and they're not super expensive. Do that first, then see if you need a separate sub.

Real leather seats or fake "pleather"?

I was assuming the order was placed after OK to Buy. If you order before that then yes, it will be longer. -
Real leather seats or fake "pleather"?
akirby replied to Aurora733's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
You can special order at any time the order banks are open, which happens before production even begins so dealers can queue up their orders. Yours won't be built until the plant starts shipping directly to dealers which is usually 4-6 weeks after job1. All you do is tell the salesperson what you want as far as options and colors and models (just use the online build and price tool, print out the summary and hand that to the salesperson and say "this is what I want"). They can do a dealer search and see if another dealer in the area has one in stock the way you want it and if so they may be able to trade for it. If not they can place the order. They may or may not require a deposit (usually $500). 4-8 weeks later it should arrive. -
Real leather seats or fake "pleather"?
akirby replied to Aurora733's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
It's real leather, at least the surfaces are in most models. It's treated for durability which sometimes makes it feel less authentic. The 2016 MKX base model has pleather. -
Another reason to go keyless. Although that brings its own set of problems, too......

Rubbing noise from front when turning left or right
akirby replied to kaushen79's topic in Exterior & Body
Not sure about the "file a letter and wait 5 days" part. That doesn't seem feasible for Ford or for dealers for something that's not leak related. You could always send a PM to FordService here or call another dealer.- 17 replies
