13N02 - Extended Warranty Coverage on Brake Booster
akirby replied to omar302's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
I'm with Omar. -
65K is pretty awesome. Not sure you'd get that many miles out of other tires. $1200 every 65k miles is a lot cheaper than $800 every 25K miles.

On the FWD torquesteer - I'm sure there will be some electronic torque limiting like in the 3.5LEB transverse applications but I also think Ford's torque vectoring system used on the Focus ST and RS will be used to mitigate that allowing much more power than before.
-
The EPA doesn't test every vehicle - only 10%. But I do think the EPA has to certify the manufacturer's results and that's what they're waiting on. I'm sure Ford submitted the numbers late but I don't know if they were trying to maximize the results. It's more likely there were changes late in the game that affected the fuel economy and required retesting. Ford also plays a lot of games with the F150 and GM/RAM. They like to keep towing, payload and mpg numbers close to the vest until the last possible minute.

How to disable horn warning?
akirby replied to mardyn's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Turn off the vehicle, leave the door open or leave the keys in the vehicle. Why are those so difficult? It would be nice to configure the turn flashes, but 3 works perfectly fine for me. -
What would happen if they announced it and then the actual was lower? That would be bad. Nothing to gain by releasing numbers early. Lots to be lost.
-
The build and price is not the final version. They always put that up early. It will be corrected by the time the vehicles actually show up.

The order guide shows Ebony and Ceramic on all Titanium exterior colors (black and light grey) with Cognac available on the grey white black and silver colors.

Anything's possible with enough time and money. But I question the benefit compared to the time and cost involved.

All-new 2015 Edge using the old MFT hardware/software?
akirby replied to fastman's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
The good news is they can now upgrade the hardware and software independently and not be stuck with an all or nothing situation like the initial launch. Hopefully the Edge has the new hardware already but I haven't seen anything that says one way or the other. -
Trying Lysol to kill stink before the stink kills me
akirby replied to normcloutier's topic in Lounge
Norm - just to clarify..... this isn't a Ford procedure. It's not part of scheduled maintenance. Ford dealers are independent businesses. Some have this service and promote it - others don't but it's an individual dealer thing not a Ford thing. Although with all the problems maybe it should be..... -
That's interesting. First time I've heard of that.
-
That's because the details are in Ford's OASIS system. You'd need a dealer or dealer contact to print it out for you.
-
Well it won't be available to the older vehicles until it shows up on the new vehicles and it hasn't shown up on the new vehicles yet. Given the MFT launch debacle I'm sure they're playing this one ultra safe and not releasing it until it's really ready.
-
Ford already does some cylinder deactivation. If it was simple enough that a tuner could do it then it would be standard if it actually improved mpg. It's probably way more complicated and not available to a tuner.
-
Now you hurt my feelings........
-
I thought it did but not positive. If it does then it has to go higher than 3/4 for it to kick in. Ours overheated when one of the fans failed. It was hot enough for the overflow tank to boil over and it did not shut down.

Old news. And you're right about QNX - it's not Blackberry.
-
It shouldn't but you never know.

Headlights in my 2013 EDGE
akirby replied to The Ripper's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Make sure they are installed correctly in the housing. If they're upside down or off by 90 degrees they won't work right.- 79 replies

Sounded more like he was nervous being on camera.....

Which is why I don't mind the hood prop rod. I've never had to replace one of those.......

Not sure what you're asking. If you're asking whether MFT controls music playback on iphones - yes. But it's all done through MFT not the iphone and it's not specific to iphones. You get access to songs by album, genre, title and artist and playlists including album art, stop and start and info displayed on the mft screen.

It changed because CD4 was based on the European mondeo platform instead of the Mazda derived cd3 platform. Virtually guaranteed the edge will match the new fusion.
