  1. Nobody here is giving it the "gt350" treatment. All that I've heard is that it's a slightly better Sport and that seems to be confirmed by all the folks who actually bought one including former Sport owners. A left over previous model vehicle is always going to be cheaper and the performance is pretty close. The issue is some folks were claiming it was a failure because it didn't handle like a Fiesta ST and was therefore unworthy of the ST badge which is ridiculous if you understand anything about physics and vehicle handling. The fact that the Sport is so close to the ST is a testament to the tuning ability of the normal Edge team compared to Ford Performance.
  2. It's not a matter of whether Ford knew it was the switch or not, it's just their decision on whether to offer the switch as a separate repair part or not. Normally there would only be a few failures and it's easier to just replace the entire assembly. Since there were a lot of reported problems and Ford did their research and determined it was the switch they came up with the procedure and part to fix it. It's not like they said "we know it's just the switch but let's screw them and force them to replace the entire thing."
  3. The only people who seem to be disappointed are people who haven’t driven a ST yet or people who have some imaginary standard for what a ST should be.
  4. Probably 1 mpg or so and about 20 hp.
  5. Does it require premium or premium is just recommended to get the advertised performance?
  6. Forscan is the only way as far as I know.
  7. Don't go by the app or anything online. There is a sticker in the driver's door jamb that tells you the correct pressure for your vehicle. I think it is 35 but you can normally run anywhere from 35-40 usually with no issues. If you run higher than 37 keep an eye on tire wear.
  8. It's possible - maybe it overheated? Can't think of anything else that would take out the engine oil seals and ptu coolant seals at the same time. I was thinking more of an environmental issue with the engine at the factory. But who knows. I agree that Ford should just replace the vehicle no questions asked.
  9. That’s not QC - something catastrophic happened with that engine for all those seals to leak at the same time. Or sabotaged.
  10. Also post a video of the lights moving at startup so we can see what it looks like.
  11. They did (see video above) but they're illegal in the US right now. DOT has said they're looking at changing the regulations to make them legal but I haven't seen a timeframe.
  12. Yes but even the SE comes with push button start. I don’t think they need super stripped down fleet special models any more. Just make a few things standard across the board and raise the price a few hundred.
  13. Ford has been misrepresenting the adaptive LEDs on the MKX for at least a year if not two. I think they were planned but the way they work (turning on and off different elements) runs afoul of hopelessly out of date DOT regulations. Why they can't get this right in the marketing and order guide is a mystery.
  14. Or the idiots who put LED light bars for off roading on their trucks and use them on the road. Makes me want to throw a brick through them.
  15. I agree they're useless in fog and at speed but at lower speeds especially when turning I like the extra light.
  16. It's ridiculous they don't make that standard across the board.
  17. There are many reports of MKX owners with the "adaptive LEDs" saying they don't do a light sweep ever (including startup). The LEDs don't move like the HIDs do - they're supposed to just turn on different elements that point to the sides.
  18. I thought the wireless keypad was programmed just like another fob and you could do to yourself as long as you have two working keys.
  19. A plan is for active employees. Z plan is for retirees. I think it’s the same price.
  20. Seems to be set up for questions only - don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.
  21. Yes they can detect a previous tune although it's unlikely to be an issue unless you blow an engine or tranny.
  22. All of the cases I can remember were the booster and/or the master cylinder (barring an actual fluid leak somewhere). There is an extended warranty on the booster. Just because they said they replaced something doesn't mean they did it correctly.
