  1. It should fit but it will be about 1 inch taller and 3 inches longer in circumference which is about a 4% difference.
  2. The new Explorer/Aviator will be capable of using the same drivetrains as the F150 and Mustang, so I guess we'll see how far they're willing to go on performance.
  3. There may be room in the engine bay but the chassis wasn't designed for that much power. Even on the D3 vehicles (Explorer/Flex/MKT/Taurus/MKS) they had to completely redesign the front clip to handle the power. What does a X3 M cost? $65K. And it's way smaller than an Edge. Better to compare with the X5 which would be even more expensive.
  4. Are you sure you didn’t get summer tires?
  5. 235/65R17 is the standard tire/wheel for the 2011 Edge SE which was also available with AWD and I don’t think they changed the brake size on the Limited, so you should be ok. Tire rack is usually very accurate.
  6. In most of the US summer temps can approach 90 degrees F or higher. Evaporation and gasoline vapors are a problem so they use different additives to reduce the vapors in the summertime. A side benefit of the additives is slightly better mpg.
  7. Summer blend fuels typically get better mpg due to the additives, at least in the southern US.
  8. I have a 2.0EB in our old Escape (now daughter’s) and the Fusion I just traded on a 3.5LEB F150. Our MKX has the 3.7L only because we took one out of stock rather than ordering and that’s all that was available with the other options we wanted. In my experience the EBs are just as smooth as the 3.7L and certainly not louder (from inside). And they are more enjoyable to drive with more torque available sooner. I don’t like having to wind up the 3.7L just to get it moving. Long term reliability is somewhat of an unknown but so far I haven’t heard of any major widespread issues and there are plenty of 3.5EBs with over 100K miles now.
  9. I don’t think Waze is part of the 3.0 update. I think Waze itself also has to be updated. Map updates are coming - there is a link posted somewhere to the website where you can register to be notified.
  10. I guess denial isn’t just a river in Egypt....... If multiple users complained and 3 out of 4 moderators agreed then maybe you should admit that maybe you’re the problem and figure out how to fix it instead of whining and blaming others.
  11. In later models there is a button that turns off the courtesy lamps when the door is open. See if you have one on your 2011. Or check the owner’s manual.
  12. An upholstery shop can redo the foam on the existing seat, usually without changing the cover.
  13. It’s 265/40r21 not 45. And they don’t make a 265/45/21 either.
  14. Sorry but they don’t. Continental has 4 - they’re all summer tires. Bridgestone has no tires in that size. http://www.continentaltire.com/tire-search?mode=tire&sw=265&ar=40&rd=21 https://www.bridgestonetire.com/catalog?trimPath=/content/data/bridgestone/consumer/vehicles/2016/lincoln/mkx/reserve-alt-size-1&tpms=true

    Bobbleheads

    No - too gross!
  16. You can’t special order anything that’s not a standard item on a Ford vehicle.
  17. The only other all season option I could find for 21” was another Pirelli Scorpion which just showed up in the last month or so. I could find no others.
  18. Could be a bad part that’s flooding the communication bus or a bad PCM. Dealer should be able to diagnose it.
  19. There is only ONE all season tire right now for the 21” wheels - Pirelli Scorpion Verde. Luckily they’re not too expensive ($210 or so plus mounting) but no other options and I don’t see tire mfrs jumping on that size. I just put a new set on our 2016 MKX at 23K. Old ones had tread left it had gotten really noisy. You have far more options on the 20” wheels but of course you have to buy new wheels. I don’t think there is a big difference in ride quality.
  20. Retina scanner. If you try to scan the wrong eyeball 3 times it shoots out a laser.
  21. I guess some folks just have to tinker. I remember a Ford engineer who was talking to some aftermarket tuners who were bragging about their latest tune where they got the shift time reduced on the transmission and they were really proud of it - almost bragging. The engineer said yeah we were there about 3 years ago. We spent the last 3 years making it driveable and avoiding all the other problems it caused.
  22. I’ve never seen or heard of it being a problem.
  23. Edge has never had a 3.5L Ecoboost - the front clip probably can’t handle that much power. Just find a used Sport and tune it.
  24. I think you can swap out the head unit but it requires some dealer or IDS programming.
