Davenport, Iowa? Of all places. I grew up in Davenport, Iowa. Still live near there. Not had this issue, but it sounds serious to me. Can the dealer get Ford involved directly with the problem? I'd at least inquire about that.

Thanks. That's what I did and it did work. Yes, did have to re-sync phone. -
Sync my ride MFT upgrade avaliable?
Mazz replied to mv-clear's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Updated mine today, from 2.8. Took not quite 40 minutes. Here are problems I've experienced so far with 2.11: Random audio selection or audio is "off" on staring car. I listen to Sirius almost exclusively. Sometimes when I start the Edge, it will be on the same channel, sometimes another channel that I don't even have set, and sometimes it will be on an AM channel and sometimes on an FM channel. Did not have this issue on 2.8. Calendar starts at January, 2030. No calendars are available prior to January, 2030. Thinks the current date is May 4, 2031, instead of September 18, 2011. Time was set to correct time of day following the install. Six hours later, the clock was ahead by 1 hour. Reset to correct time. "Time will tell." -
First link is for a set that are open ended. These would be used on a traditional wheel, where a hub cap or center cap covers the lug nuts. I don't believe these are polished. The second link is for a set that are closed. These would be used on a wheel where the lug nuts are exposed. The second link will look better. As far as protection goes, it's about equal, and either set can be easily defeated by a simple $9 socket available at most auto parts stores.

Not had any issues with the capless fuel system. But I will keep an eye for any. When it comes to tires, Chinese vs American - I will always go with American.

How loud can you go before your speakers distort?
Mazz replied to DavidStruff's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I crank mine up all the way sometimes, when I'm working in the garage. I don't have any issue with distortion at all. Although I suspect if I keep this up, I may in the future. I have the Sony system. -
For zip 52806, shows $1,000 rebate if financed through Ford Credit. Otherwise, there is just $500 for Military Appreciation and $500 for Police Appreciation.

Believe all vehicles from 2007 on are mandated by Federal Law to have TPMS.

As time goes on, the selection will dwindle as well. So I would look for a unit you like, if the incentives are enough, then don't wait. In the area I live, Ford Edges have been scattered, and no dealer has enough to even make a row of them.

Fairly common problem. There seem to be several bugs in the system. I've had mine updated at the dealer after it blacked out on me, and so far so good.

Wind buffeting from rear window
Mazz replied to Doug-J's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
The only cars I've not had this "problem" in, have been a few Camaros and Vettes that I had in my younger years. -
I would not tow until the correct number of miles have been driven.

You might try pulling fuse 35, wait a few minutes and then replace it, then start the vehicle. Or, disconnect the negative battery terminal, wait a few minutes and then reconnect it, then start the vehicle. That will force a cold boot of the system.

Yes, you are correct, tapatalk is not needed. However, it is designed for access via a smartphone or iPhone, and makes navigating much easier.

Does anyone use Tapatalk on their Smartphone? If so, are you able to access this forum through Tapatalk? I use the app, for several forums, but cannot access this forum via Tapatalk. There are hundreds of forums that provide Tapatalk access. Just wondering. Maybe something would need to be done at the forum end to enable it. http://www.tapatalk.com/

What version of Sync do I have??
Mazz replied to rockgt302's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Go to syncmyride.com. Register, and start snooping around. You'll find a history page on your vehicle that will list the current version. -
My, you are picky.

Gee, I hate to even mention this, but "rail dust" comes to mind. This is often more noticeable on light colored vehicles. If the vehicle was transported by rail or sitting in a rail yard for even a day or two, rail dust (small iron/steel particles of dust from train rails) settle on the surface. These particles of steel dust embed in the paint and show up as flecks of rust. There is a solution to the problem. Clay bar. Clay bar the car, to pull the particles out of the paint. May take two or three sessions. Just make sure to continually knead the clay bar and use adequate lubricant as you work.

Does not matter where the damage is. If the repair estimate exceeds a certain percentage of the value of the vehicle, it's considered totaled. You may be able to opt not to have the insurance company total it, but you'll have to pay for the repairs yourself, and most likely document to the insurance company that the repairs were made, in order to continue your policy. I say "may" because it depends on the terms of you policy.

Locking Gas Cap - 2011 Edge Limited
Mazz replied to Jackenstein's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I think all Ford Edges for 2011 have capless fuel input. Ford does have a locking gas plug for these. Runs a tad over $20, maybe $25. -
Wow, great looking Edge. Too bad she's having to let it go.

If it's the plastic that sort of has a sand-grain pebble texture, common to a lot of automotive exterior parts, it should be sanded smooth before painting. Otherwise, it's going to look awful.

Do you have a part number?
