  1. Search Ford Edge door panel removal on youtube. There's a couple vids on there that should help. The Rockfords you ordered should sound just fine and about a billion times better then the factory toys.
  2. Good to see ya back Dingo!!! If I remember correctly, you used to run DDM hids in your Edge. How do you feel these compare to a 35 or 55/5000 set of Hids???? I'm still running the same 35/5000 DDM kit I installed 4 years ago.

    What is this

My best guess would be a broken part from a golf cart or ATV primary clutch. Probably nothing to do with your Edge.
  4. I've had a 35/5000 DDM kit in my 2011 Edge for 4 years now. Other then 1 bad ballast that they replaced under the lifetime warranty they have been perfect. Nice thing about going with a 35 watt kit is that you can run it as a true Plug-N-Play without wiring in a harness. I did build a harness for mine. A good 35 watt kit installed properly is way way brighter then the stock bulbs and the beam pattern stays about the same. Still the best mod I've ever done to the old Edge!!!
  5. Been watching this thread over on Hidplanet: https://www.hidplanet.com/forums/forum/general-discussion/leds/64558-testing-the-cn360-h4-led-headlight-bulb-philips-x-treme-ultinon-copy
  6. Just curious, How many miles did you get out of your stock tires? Michelin Latitudes 18" 245/60/18 2011 SEL FWD. Just changed them out at 61,000 and could have pushed it to about 70,000. I'm about 70/30 city/highway..
  7. I just had my YK580's installed a few days ago (2011 SEL). Stock Latitudes had 61,000 on them and were probably good for another 10,000 if I wanted to stretch it. Ride seems a little softer so far and they are nice and quite on the highway. Headed up north for a month of bow hunting tomorrow so I'm sure I'll get to test these out in the mud, rain, ice and snow. I rotate religiously at 7,000 so maybe I can reach the 60 grand mark before having to replace these.
  8. Pretty much any aftermarket replacement speakers are gonna sound a ton better then Fords plastic garbage. Like Carguy said, make sure the sensitivity is 90+ and you will be a happy camper.
  9. To me, the pics with the bug guard effect look a little smoother. On the 2010 and below I think I would stick with chrome or do a body color match.
  10. I've always had the best luck with Z-2 when it comes to winter protection but this year I'm trying the Duragloss 601/111 combo. Last year I went with DG 601/105 topped with Collinite 845 and was not thrilled with the durability compared to the Z. I'm in a nasty salt belt.
  11. Anyone else have a problem with low coolant level on their 3.5? I've had to add about an inch and a half 3 times in 60,000 miles. I know it's not much but I don't ever remember having to do this on any of the 15 previous Fords I've owned. No ground leaks and no coolant smell.
  12. I always throw looks into the equation when looking for a new vehicle. In my opinion, both the Edge and Santa Fe are good looking Sport utility vehicles. To me the Subaru looks like a station wagon and the Nissan is just plain odd looking.
  13. I think it's always a good idea to install a BEEFY dual relay waterproof harness when adding a hid kit regardless of the wattage. Not 100% sure but I would think it would allow the bulbs to reach full brightness quicker. Keep in mind that a harness needs to be well made with proper gauge wire cuz we don't want any meltdowns or fires.
  14. I'd just throw one of your new ballasts in there and see if that takes care of the problem first. Smart move buying two kits!!! Did you pay the extra $20.00 for their lifetime warranty???
  15. I just had to stick a plug in another nail hole yesterday. My old tires are like Swiss cheese but I'm almost done with them.
  16. A new factory bulb should not change the beam pattern or aim of your headlight. Maybe swap the bulbs and see if anything changes on the passenger side. Either way, it's probably a good idea to spend a little time getting the vertical adjustment right.
  17. Even though I plug mine I do agree that getting them patched from the inside is the smart thing to do. I never was that bright!!! Sometimes it does take the TPMS a while to reset but it will.
  18. I've got 60,000 on my 11 SEL and I'm just starting to feel a warped rotor up front. I do about 50/50 city/hwy. Probably gonna change out the originals before winter since I already purchased everything. I always go with Wagner Thermos or Raybestos Blues cuz they don't dust much and I picked up four new rotors for $25.00 each with Advance Auto codes. I did disassemble the brakes at about 40,000 to check them and regrease everything. Speaking from past experience, it's a good idea to go through the break system every 30-40 thousand miles if ya live in a salt belt cuz things tend to lockup and then break.
  19. I've been doing the plug thing myself for years and never had any problems with them. I have at least 3 plugs in my original tires right now but will be putting new skins on shortly. I repaired every one of them on the side of the road without even removing the rim/tire from the vehicle. I guess I don't wanna get my spare dirty!!!!
  20. If it is the throttle body, can it be cleaned or does it need to be replaced at this point? I ask because I've been thinking of cleaning mine. Can keeping it clean prevent a failure?????
  21. I wish I would have gotten a clear bra installed the day I purchased my Edge. After 60,000 miles mine is pretty beat up. The plastic chrome is what really looks bad so I've been thinking of painting it to match the body color. The front edge of the hood still looks perfect which kinda surprises me.
  22. Just over 3 years with a DDM 35 watt kit and I've lost one balast which they replaced under warranty. Original bulbs are still fine but I did end up ordering another kit so I could carry spares. $80.00 for two kits is a pretty good deal. Factory OEM is definitely the way to go for years of trouble free operation but I think ya gotta kick out some big green-backs initially.
  23. I usually don't like telling people what to do to their vehicles but in this case I will agree with the suggestion above. Back in 95 I thought I was cool by putting those blackout AVS tail light covers on my new Explorer until I took a good hit in the middle of the day. After that, I didn't think they were cool anymore!
  24. A nice beefy harness will probably solve your problem. If ya don't know how to build one, TRS (The Retrofit Source) is your best option. 55 watt kits like a direct connection to the battery.
