  1. The rear wiper on my 11 was shot so I ran up and grabbed a RainX R14D. It fit but didn't sit flush with the rest of the wiper arm like the factory blade did. The factory blade has a raised curve on it to make everything look flush. I had a few old blades laying around so I decided to try and just change out the rubber on the factory blade. I cut the rubber to the proper length, inserted the original metal strips and slid it into the factory blade. Worked perfect!!!! I just need to go find a new blade with the proper width rubber to replace the used rubber I just installed. Moral of the story, Don't throw out your original factory blade!!!!! Just to add to this post, the Trico View and the Trico Exact Fit have the right size rubber. I just purchased a 26 incher for $5.00 and cut the rubber to the proper length.
  2. Never heard of an alignment being a must after a simple tire replacement. Have I been doing it wrong for the last 50 years???
  3. I'm guessing hids in the halogen reflector housings of 2010 and below Edge's produce a terrible beam pattern. What you could do in your 2008 is put H-9's in place of the H-11 low beams. It makes a huge difference so ya gotta make sure to aim them properly. Any good brand will work and be trouble free. I think ya end up going from 1350 to 2150 lumens. She'll love ya for it!!!!!! You have to do a little tab trimming to the H-9 sockets but it's really easy.
  4. Once you get them clean, I would hit them with a quick coat of 303 Fabric Guard. Stuff is amazing and has saved my seats 3 or 4 times from disaster. I sprayed my seats 3 years ago and it's still protecting them!!!!! Can't believe I used Scotch Guard all those years but I didn't know any better.
  5. Friend has a 2012 SEL that does the exact same thing. He purchased it with 24,000 miles on it and I was surprised the tires were so worn. Been to the dealership three times and even took it to some tire place. Dealership put two new tires on the back but the noise is still there to this day. Car now has 52,000 on it and drives perfect and he just lives with the noise. I keep telling him to get it back to the dealership before his extended warranty runs out.
  6. If you can wait, Discount Tire Direct runs some great deals a few times each year. I picked my Yk's up for $264.00 shipped to my door after all the rebates. I kinda jumped the gun because of the great deal and mine have been sitting in the basement for almost a year now but I gotta put them on before winter.
  7. Any updates of how these are working out for you? Are ya happy with the output and beam pattern?????
  8. Seems like ya did it right and it should hold up pretty good. I might have to do the same thing to my 2011 chrome grill eventually cuz it's getting really chipped up. I'll probably try to match the body color if I do mine.
  9. I would try replacing the front speakers first and see what you think. Funny thing is, the basic speakers in the 2010 and below Edges are way better then the ones in the 2011 and up.
  10. What's the setup in the new Edge? Separate highs and lows? If so, are they both halogen projectors? Looking at pics online it almost looks like Ford is using a projector for the lows and a reflector for the highs.
  11. Tough call but I like the power and proven reliability of the 3.5. These days I would be tempted to go for the best MPG but I'm not sure if the 2.0 does that much better then the 3.5.
  12. I think they brought the wrong Edge to this party. Seems like a Titanium would have been a better comparison.
  13. Like others have said, make sure it's done by solid company. If they don't prime and seal the exposed metal properly, it won't take long for the roof line to start rusting.
  14. I sealed my relays with silicone and ziptied them next to the battery out of sight. Been a solid setup for just over 3 years in Michigan's salt belt.
  15. So is this a design flaw or a problem on the assembly line? I was thinking these leaky Edges were just missing a bead of body caulk but it sounds like it could be more then that.
  16. Not sure it's possible with LED controllers but a lot of us used industrial strength velcro to mount our HID ballasts in the factory locations. Mine are still rock solid after 3 years.
  17. I feel sorry for all of you going through this with a very expensive new vehicle. :cry:Ford has had water intrusion problems with lots of vehicles over the years including the Taurus and F150. They need to do better testing and inspecting before mass producing their vehicles!!!!!!!
  18. If the 6000's are to blue for ya I wouldn't hesitate to go back for the 5000's which should be a little brighter and whiter. I actually thought my DDM 5000's were too blue when I first installed them but I think it was just a little to big of a shock after driving behind halogens for so long. If ya start getting flashed by other drivers it's really easy to adjust them down a little which I had to do.
  19. I pretty much did all the exact same mods, except the tails, to my 2011. Yes, speakers make a huge difference compared to the plastic toys that Ford uses. The one other thing ya might want to do is convert all interior bulbs to led. Did you happen to find out what Hid kit he used along with the wattage and color temp?????
  20. http://slickdeals.net/f/7906659-infinity-primus-6-5-2-way-loudspeaker-pr6502is-factory-recertified-29-ac-free-shipping?v=1 Crutchfield says they don't fit the Edge but I would guess, with a little modding, they will. I've got some older 6 1/2 Infinitys in my 2011 SEL.
  21. Once the Jute carpet padding gets soaked it is extremely difficult to dry it. I had a similar problem with a 2004 Taurus and it took me about 4 days to dry that stuff with a fan in the summer !!!! If they don't get it completely dry it will eventually cause a mold problem. I had to fix the Taurus myself cuz two dealerships couldn't figure it out (AC drain tube clogged).

    Engine Cover

I went ahead and filed a mouse damage insurance claim today. $100.00 deductible works out fine cuz I need the front and back engine covers along with new hood insulation. I already checked the best I could for more damage but I'll have the dealership dig a little deeper.
  23. Most on here in the past have used 9006 kits myself included. I would do lots of research before you have them installed so you won't be disappointed. Find out the brand he uses, color temp, wattage and if he will be installing a harness. Durability should be a major concern cuz you could literally be left in the dark.
