  1. Not sure about leather but I consider the 2007-2014 Edge cloth seats some of the most comfortable out there. My 10 was a little softer then my 11. I'm sure body shape, age and injuries have a lot to do with how comfortable a seat feels to each driver. At the ripe old age of 52, I'm starting to like a car seat that makes me feel like I'm sitting on a Lazy Boy.
  2. Didn't see that vid Mac but it definitely answers my question!!!!:) Gonna do the plugs on my 2011 next weekend and now I'll be prepared to swap in a new PCV valve.
  3. Mac, just watched your video about assembling the PCV valve and tube for your 2011. Did you happen to try heat to separate the original tube and PCV so you could reuse the tube?????
  4. I'd stick with a good brand name for a BT head unit. I always preferred Alpine way back in my car audio days but I'm sure Pioneer, Sony, Kenwwod, Clarion and many others make solid head units these days. Crutchfield might be a good starting point.
  5. The 2010 and below Edge's give you a ton of easy aftermarket replacement radio options and most will have Bluetooth. Wish it was easy to slide a new head unit in my 2011.
  6. You would have to switch it manually. Mine is always set to line in because I'm either listening to music through my phone or on a voice call.
  7. If you're just looking to add Bluetooth for calls and music streaming there are some pretty good options that plug into the 3.5mm auxiliary port. I tried a bunch of them and finally settled on the Kinivo BTC-450 because of it's amazing call quality. Not sure if it's still made but E-bay is loaded with brand new ones. There's lot's of cheaper options if voice quality is not a concern.
  8. Just finished replacing the coolant in my 88,000 mile 2011. Hope it wasn't a mistake going with the Ford Specialty Green coolant which is what my 3.5 calls for. To kinda get back on topic, just had two good friends go through engine replacements on their 90,000 mile vehicles. One was a 2010 5.4 F150 and the other a 2010 Toyota Tundra. Cam Phazer locked up on the Ford and a crank bearing went Bye-Bye in the Yota. I've had really good luck with Fords over the last 38 years but ya never know when she's gonna buck-ya.
  9. Just got around to installing the front emblem my dealer gave me under warranty about two years ago. Took me about 15 minutes thanks to HRinkels short write-up. Pretty sad that Ford's "advertising" emblem was peeling after only two years.
  10. I agree. Ford's quality tends to go up and down every few years. I actually feel that the 11-14 Edges had better quality control then the 10- and 15+. The Lincolns seem a lot more consistent but, of course, ya gotta pay the premium.
  11. Man, most of you guys don't even need a subwoofer!!!!
  12. Wow!!! I'm guessing 17 or 18 years old and going to the Ford show with Mom.:)
  13. Get the Eco in your next Edge Mac and see if it can be done!!!!:) Isn't that only about a year and a half of driving for you??
  14. Mac, just watched your coolant change video and that's the way I've always done it. Did you do any research to make sure that Peak is cool to use?? Did you originally have the Ford Purple stuff in there???? Just talked to a mechanic friend of mine at a Ford dealership who said to use Ford Vc-10-a2 Specialty Green coolant.
  15. Just took a shot from a big ole rock today and will need to have the windshield replaced on the old 2011 SEL. Was just wondering if any of the 11-14's came with Ford's Sound screen windshields. If so, I'm gonna ask my glass guy if he can get a Carlite Sound screen replacement for me instead of the standard model.
  16. I guess I better change the coolant on my 85,000 mile 3.5!!!!
  17. I've had a 2010 Edge, 2011 Edge and a 2014 MKX. If the extra green isn't a factor I would always go for the MKX. I know they're the same basic vehicle but, in my opinion, the MKX looks better, has better fit & finish and is way way more luxurious inside.
  18. Not sure if DDM still sells the same products but I'm still sporting the set I purchased from them about 4 years ago for my 2011. I think mine came with a lifetime warranty and they did replace a ballast for me the first year I had them. They do work well in the Edge's halogen projectors and, to my old eyes, are a big improvement. I actually purchased two sets thinking I might have a few bulb and ballast failures but they've proven really durable. I still carry the spare set just in case. I should add that mine are 35/5000 and I'm using an overbuilt waterproof harness I made.
  19. Thanks, gotta install the new one I've had laying around for over a year.
  20. Would be very cool to get an Edge in the air a little!!!!
  21. I thought the same thing but I think a lot of vehicles come with rear turn signals that flash red. I'm gonna pay closer attention for a few days.
  22. I've always wanted to replace my rear amber turn signal bulbs in my 2011 to red leds. I grabbed a pair of red 3157's the other day I found at a local store. Think I'll need resistors?
  23. HIDs work really well in the 2011-2014 Edge"s halogen projectors so ya might wanna go that route. I've had a cheap DDM 35/5000 kit in my 2011 for over 4 years and have been really happy with it. A few members have probably had 55 watt kits for quite a few years so maybe they can chime in with their experience. The difference in light output between the factory halogens and a set of HIDs is pretty good.
  24. Did you rent a brake tool kit from the auto parts store? Ya need it to turn in the rear pistons and they usually have that torx bit included. Makes the job much easier!!!! Kit is free to rent at Advance but ya gotta do a complete buy and return with a credit card.
