  1. Do you have the manufacturer's window sticker? It should show it.
  2. OK. I'm confused. What exactly is Sirius Travel Link, which I do have? (Just confirmed by logging on to my account at Sirius.)
  3. Our phones aren't on the list but they did pair up and can make and receive calls thru the SYNC. Our phones are KISS phones (Keep It Simple Stupid), not smart phones, so we don't have all the functionality that smart phones have.
  4. If I remember correctly, you have to register with Sirius online and then enter a code in the car to get the full subscription. I had to call Sirius on my cell phone while in the car because I was having problems. The Sirius card is the navigation card. The dealer should have installed it and explained it all. Our dealer had an employee that explained several of the MyTouch and satellite radio and navigation. Ten or fifteen minutes I think.
  5. Can someone explain these two comments? Are they supposed to be funny?
  6. Pages 318 and 319 of the 2011 Edge owners manual: "Clean the instrument panel, interior trim, areas and cluster lens with a clean, damp, white cotton cloth, then use a clean and dry wihte cotton cloth to dry these areas." "Do not use household or glass cleaners as these may damage the finish of the instrument panel, interior trim and cluster lens." That is probably why Ford declined to repair the dash.
  7. I looked on the window sticker and couldn't find it. Is it in code? Where should it be located on the sticker?
  8. I had this problem earlier this year on my 2004 Merc minivan. The A/C clutch was failing. Required replacing the compressor, dryer etc. Maybe you'll get lucky and it is only the clutch. I can't help you about whether or not there is a TSB. You'll have to take it in to someone that works on automobile a/c.
  9. How did you get a 2012 last November, 2010? When we purchased our 2011 SEL in April 2011 I didn't think the 2012s were out yet. How did you find the keyboard? I have not seen it.
  10. How do you determine if you have Job 1 or 2 or 3? Our Edge was built around March 25, 2011.
  11. I had the problem with the preset being red but no lettering. I switched to FM and then back to Sirius and problem corrected, at least for now. I have version 2.8.
  12. We have about 1,875 miles on our 2011SEL. Road noise varies depending on the road surface. I believe it is the tires.
  13. Exception to Example #2: Rear doors have a Federally mandated child proof lock on them. It is set manually on all cars. With it set on "child" the rear doors can only be opened from the outside. Otherwise I agree with the post above.
  14. If you drive in hilly terrain you will get poor gas mileage. I say this because of your reference to going down a hill.
  15. Who said you can only get filtered air thru the defrost setting? If the a/c is on you get filtered air. As already said, if the defroster is on the a/c comes on above a certain outside temp. Your a/c is running to cause the condensation. There is no humidifier. It is normal condensation when warm/hot humid air hits a cold surface. Like the sweat on a glass of ice water or tea.
  16. How did you do that? Are there instructions in the manual(s)? We got our SEL on April 28, 2011. I only get to drive it on the weekends so I have not had time to try all of the features. I did find gasoline prices one time.
  17. I guess I don't know what good quality is supposed to sound like. We don't have expensive equipment in our home. We have only listened to about five channels and there are two that we listen to most of the time. Locally there is only one channel that we like. On the road, once we are out of range of WRR 101.1 the hunt for acceptable music is on. There is a station that plays big band and standards, what you would probably call elevator music, but we like it. But the range is limited. We end up playing CDs. We don't care for country or Mexican Polka, which is about all I can find in Central Texas. With Sirius we can go from home to any of our destinations without changing channels. We will renew the subscription when the free period is up.
  18. The center console does get in the way some. I am six feet tall and prefer to sit as far back as I can. I also prefer to sit up as high as I can. In our Monterey I can do both but not in the Edge. Apparently Ford engineers think that if you want the seat high you must be short so the seat moves forward when you raise it. Lower it and the seat moves back. With the seat lowered and as far back as it will go I feel like I am sitting in the bowels of a tank looking out a peephole. Raise the seat so I can see out better and the seat moves forward. It is a compromise that I will eventually get right I guess. 11 Edge SEL with 202A rapid speck and Sirius Navigation.
  19. Has anybody added the front parking assist sensors to their 2011 Edge? Ours came with the reverse sensors and backup camera but nothing on the front. Our 2004 Mercury Monterey has front and back parking sensors and the front sensors help when pulling into a parking space. I went on the Ford Custom Accessories web page and there is a set of front sensors available, but the description of how they work doesn't make any sense. It said that when you first turn on the ignition the front sensors will be on for 5 minutes and then will shut off. Does anybody have these and is that how they work? On my Merc when speed is below 3 MPH (maybe 5MPH) the sensors in front are active. Anyone added any sensors thru Ford or afte rmarket? Would appreciate any feed back.
  20. Thanks. I don't have AWD.
  21. Great idea with the headrests. I was reading threads on the Edge headrests yesterday on this forum. About removing the rear headrests because they block the view in the rear view mirror. It is too bad that someone from Ford with the proper authority doesn't see these complaints about the headrests and do something about them. If there are any Ford employees on this forum please ask the design department to revise the design of the front headrests especially. The front headrests bother my wife so much she wants me to remove them, which I don't want to do for the safety aspect. I will see about trying the OP's solution, maybe this weekend.
  22. My wife's car was a 2000 Impala. It had several things wrong with it and if we had fixed all of those things neither of us would trust it to take it out of town. We had purchased the Impala new and we had to have an internal coolant leak fixed and the major item when we traded it was an internal oil leak. I have only had two cars in my life that needed internal engine work dond, and both of those were purchased used. I just don't trust GM right now. I I was going to get her a Taurus but she said that getting in and out of the Impala not only was difficult but sometimes painful. She said she would force herself to drive a SUV. So I looked at the Edge. I was following first the Taurus and then the Edge on Cars.com, and it seemed that all of the Fords had black interiors, even with Silver, which is my wife's favorite color for a car. When and SEL showed up with Silver exterior and Light Stone interior and a sales price in our budget we went for it. It has more features than we needed or wanted but we bought it. I went to the dealer with preapproved credit from my bank at 3.39%. The finance manager got us credit at 2.59% for the same term This was April 30, 2011. We are still trying to get use to it. My wife is retired so she drives to the store, library and Doctors in it. I get to drive in on the weekends. I can't wait for weekends.!!!
  23. Maybe the dip stick needs to be re-calibrated. I've never heard of it needing to be re-calibrated on a car but on motorhomes with diesel engines it sometimes has to be done because of the various ways a diesel can be installed in a motorhome.
