  1. another post http://boards.synccommunity.com/discussions/Welcome_to_SYNC_Owner_to_Owner/Mobile_Phones/Map_Quest_Send_to_SYNC_Feature/fordsyncmb/10283.1?nav=messages Again- Would be helpful for Ford to chime for those that STILL try to use that Sync Services FEE based service... at the insane $199/year for Lincoln owners- I gave Ford the big salute long time ago waze, google maps, apple maps.... are the way to go and you get Free traffic
  2. scottk...wish you the same luck. The lack of straightforwardness & the dodging of answering basic questions is the crime
  3. Agreed. See post 5. On my vehicle Ford needed to REPLACE & reprogram...they spent day trying to align /adjust to prove to Ford that it did indeed need replacing. On day 2 replaced/adjusted/programmed & whatever else they do but the GPS issue has been working fine ever since. Now the reboot in background at ~20 hours & loose settings... that is another story that really pushes the boundary of incompetence or dishonesty. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11852-ambient-lighting-problem-after-sync-update/
  4. Really? The PM I just received? "Hello drpepper, Your CSM sent you an email in regards to your case today 9/28/15. If you have any other questions, dont hesitate to contact your CSM or the Lincoln Customer Relationship Center. You can contact the Lincoln CRC at 1-800-521-4140. This info was added to your file as well Tricia" Yes CSM Emailed me. AFTER I emailed her to get the case number for you. Rrrrr I have no resolution on my case - I would appreciate a resolution. What the csm emailed me said the field service engineer still hadn't done anything after week of reaching out . And previous interaction provided bad advice I wish if a Ford person would comment on this forum they would not just pass the buck and point the finger I'm looking for some real solutions to the problem so was the other poster Thank you
  5. From.. http://boards.synccommunity.com/discussions/Welcome_to_SYNC_Owner_to_Owner/Voice_Command__Other_Control_Tips/MapQuest_Unable_to_SEND_to_CAR_for_Directions/fordsyncmb/10277.1?nav=messages http://boards.synccommunity.com/discussions/Welcome_to_SYNC_Owner_to_Owner/Voice_Command__Other_Control_Tips/SYNC_Through_MapQuest/fordsync mb/10225.1?nav=messages But no timely response over there.
  6. OK I PM as requested. I waited hoping I would have heard back from dealer and the FSE.. but after posting on 9/22 I waited till today 9/28 with out hearing back from the FSE. Almost a full week... That is not a good response time.
  7. BUT the question I am sure many want to know: was not if Mapquest is FORD's option ...it is & Google of past is not-but that Mapquest hasn't been working in past few weeks. And lets be honest- Mapquest and send to sync has had MANY - I mean MANY times in past 5 years I have been around where Mapquest doesn't work. So what is the deal with the latest reported issues in past month or so regarding users stating they are having trouble...
  8. I posted here 1st thing yesterday, called & left VM with service manager at my dealer, & called the CSM. Emailed both of them the video showing the issue. NONE replied. In addition to above: Last week I called 800 number of ford sync- explained the whole ordeal & he looked up my vin & saw the history. Gentleman sounded all professional asked for 2-3 days to look into. Stated he would be off Frid so if I did not here back from him on Thurs that he would call me Sat. since he worked sat. I never heard from him Thurs, Sat, Monday, or Tues. SO much for a case # and "sounding" like you would help but NOT DELIVER! Update: 11AM The CSM replied- Dealer will reach out again to FSE & await their response on next step.
  9. A master reset will not solve what you describe. Sounds like you have what I had a couple years ago & many others- a faulty module/antenna configuration. That is a dealer repair. I remember dealer trying to adjust or reprogram but then needing another day to replace, realign internal gps antenna so it would acquire more sats so it would display driving 2 streets over or through a river. There was a big discussion on this here and over at syncmy ride forums. May need to search forum to find THAT thread- Maybe Akirby or Ford rep can assist.
  10. OK This morning there were tell tale signs my Lincoln touch rebooted in background. 1.) the Ambient light changed from my blue setting yesterday to white 2.) the cog wheel icon in settings when you press it- it went to clock screen not my previous used screen 3.)when I navigated to the ambient light setting in menu- it spun in front of me from the previously set blue to white ( to catch up with what happened from reboot loosing the setting) 4.) Phone ringer & text message ringers- I CAN NOT VERIFY since my PHONE was not been connect to MLT for almost past month per the FSE ( Fiield service engineer) that was called out to dealer by my service manager in conjunction with the intervention of the CSM. 5.) My trip odometer showed the 20 hours of use CONCLUSION- Ford will say anything when they do not know the real answer or are told not to say it 1.) (Must be your phone not our system) 2.) ( no, system is not designed to reboot in background after ~20 hours of use) 3.) (after a battery disconnect reboot- yes you will loose settings but not after the reboot app or if system has fault with your phone) 4.) ( no, the settings are not to be lost they should be retained after a reboot) 5.) ( We have escalated to the highest level we can go- the CSM - a guest service rep) ... Ford just wants you to go away and deny the real life experience of a 5 year owner and many others here that have posted similar experence. Well- I tested the ridiculous theory that has been used over the past 5 years of MFT/MLT release- it is not our system it must be you.--- I played by their rules & fully disconnect my phone from car & the sync reference from my phone- drove for almost a month un-plugged -no car charging, audio streaming no BT phone calls, no updated operating systems on phones, no remote starting, must be COLD- no, must be raining- NO, no apps running or in bbackground or anything that could be blamed for-nothing MLT v 3.6 still has the error!!!!!
  11. WOW- well I am still waiting for a recommended course of action. Seems the call for help here of Ford proved not useful. The dealer -wanted to helpful but had no answers and has to get marching orders from Ford ( who is not providing) . The FSE called out- no answers & left. The CSM just says if dealer not helpful - they can intervene but since dealer is willing - nothing the CSM can do.. But issues still remains. If the system reboots- the setting are lost and it used to not be that way.
  12. NO! Most of what the "paid" Ford version offers you can find here & its FREE! Calling 408-752-8052. (ADD FREE) Identical reports, reporters, can save favorites- speech rec, driving directions. The turn by turn directions-most report does not recalculate or not useful. Any smart phone with the apps ( google, mapquest, apple maps) or as most use now WAZE get a better experience & have FREE TRAFFIC. Ford does not give FREE TRAFFIC. I used to like Fords "send to sync" cause I have built in nav but Ford took away the Google send to sync- MapQuest (other option) over past 5 years has been SPOTY at best ! Many times off line or mapquest needs an update or it sends mixed https & http & ford cant handle. Besides what ANNOYED most people is MFT and MLT HAD the ability to take your download phone contacts-take the address portion of contact- & send to your built in nav- ( Any new address you wanted to go to - add into phone contacts & it would download to car & then to you nav- wow- BUT problem is for most it didn't work properly & Ford instead of fixing- just took feature away & said use the PAID Sync Subscription version.- When they offered free. And get this the 1 year subscription is $199 for Lincoln owners. No lower option. It was free,. Ford offers Ford owners a $60 but refuses to offer to Lincoln. How is that for Price gauging.
  13. When you say CM meaning control module? Meaning the APIM ( accessory protocol interface module?) My APIM was replaced & reprogrammed but did no good. OH wait post 73 you say that already happened for you...
  14. SO- My settings are lost- contrary to your statement. I am approaching that 5 year mark of out of warranty. The Dealer who brought out a FSE- disagrees with your statement & has not returned. The CSM has to work with dealer & the FSE so they are not further assisting. SO AGAIN- I ask- what is my next step? How do we escalate & resolve?
  15. Any feedback? Is the current MFT/MLT 3.6.02 designed to retain settings after a "system maintenance" for the ambient light & phone/text ringers? If so, the FSE provided wrong advise & I need assistance for my vehicle since it does looses settings
  16. SO you say I should NOT loose settings.. You say stick with CSM. But the CSM helped ensure dealer got a FSE to look at vehicle & THAT FSE says you DO loose settings after a system maintenance. Went on to say that if I see "it" happen ( system maintenance) without "FORCING" a battery pull- that it must be something other than MFT/MLT- Like a phone. BUT WHO IS CORRECT? TWO DIFFERENT FORD AGENTS ARE PROVIDING DIFFERENT ANSWERS. on SETTINGS RETENTION HOW DO WE VERIFY THAT STATEMENT? Doesn't everyone see the logic error of this? Frustrating is FSE saying lets try to prove you get a system maintenance with out your phone connected. BUT also says when you get a system maintenance you loose settings. Well DA! Then back to square one! \ If system does system maintenance- it either SHOULD retain settings or it SHOULD NOT! And no-one is saying that it really does matter how the system is triggered to do the system maintenance & that if it triggers by version 1 or version 2 you will get a different result. RRRR Thanks AKIRBY for summering Ford but you see no-one will get to the root of it. We all see the posts - here& on other forums = people do loose the settings. Some see it while others do not see it ir pay attention. Some saw it happen a lot while others recall back & see it as occasional. Confused on the "go away" appearing advice from FSE that its you phone drive with out phone connected vs answer the dilemma question if it happens on battery pull then wouldn't it happen on a phone cause the system maintenance- & if so - what was the point? Same end result the settings are not maintained
  17. The FSE told my dealer's service manager that if the battery is disconnected- the ambient light settings are lost! What do you say to that? Is that true? I have conflicting info from 2 different Ford reps.- are the settings retained or lost? That answer will help determine next course of action. My premise is if the system - occasionally resets- as you say - or is forced to reset by a battery pull- it should produce the same result! If that result (expectation) is the settings are to be maintained-as you say- then I have a problem!!! Since they were NOT retained & the FSE stated that they will not on battery pull reset. So he blamed a phone that wasn't even connected to vehicle & did not assist any further & left. As stated the CSM stated she is in a stuck position cause the dealer did bring out a FSE & he said must be a connect phone causing it. I am tracking 10+hours of non-connect phone. If it "resets" without phone connected & looses the ambient light settings- what is next course of action- bring to dealer? OK but who that is QUALIFIED could come out? The same FSE that might be proven wrong???
  18. SO--How do we proceed to get the basic questions answered? If Ford was "Summoned"- how do we get a reply from the proper escalation process? The dealer, FSE, CSM have not successfully been able to assist. 1.) Does MFT/MLT v 3.6.02 loose settings on a reboot/system maintenance? How is this different from prior versions? 2.) Does MFT/MLT v 3.6.02 reboot/perform system maintenance- without any customer interaction - IE at a regular interval of usage-say ~after a set time -like ~20 hours of use? How is this different from prior versions? 3.) A TSB seems to only address one aspect of an ambient lighting issue- more a haphazard change or more frequent change on cycle ignition...what about a longer duration - say the 20 or so hours of use- what can address that issue? 4.) Since the next version-3.7- was denied to 2011,2012,2013 model year vehicles- (even though reports tell of successful installs by dealer until the stop order came) and the current release is 2 years + old with issues- what is the planned next step by Ford to address?
  19. Not sure what that means....If you mean Concierge service manager- Alesandra has been involved for past months but she has stated her role is to insure the dealership is not the hold up. The REAL issue is finding an expert at ford corp to advise properly. As stated -dealership got a FSE ( Field service engineer) to run test - with out my phone or anything plugged in- and then left after 2 days saying- must be a phone issue & left us High & dry! Seems based on all the others who have posted issue- it is the software version. .
  20. My guess since people posted here it WAS installed & works on pre-2014 vehicles and was on Fords web site to download for all for a time before being removed is it is all about the money & not wanting 2011,2012,& 2013 model years to add to expense of managing. Keeping with that point- why our latest version is more than 2 years old with known issues but yet no replacement version or hot fix released.
  21. And 2011 MKX had the battery replaced by dealer last year I believe. OMAR302 Thanks for all your feedback. Just PROVES why I posted so much on what appeared a BS reply to dealer & me.....when Ford send out their FSE- And he said - system doesn't reboot in background anymore- must be your phone forcing the reboot - I called that out as that doesn't seem right I think FSE is providing BAD info to dealer & Me.... That is why I am asking for Ford to chime in here & get to the bottom of this !!!! left no -I mean right - wait I mean Up - no I mean down - style advice!
  22. Thanks.. So I'll await on the key answers.. 1.) is MFT/MLT programmed to reboot in background- if so-which versions- Did it change to NOT by designed to reboot- if so - on what version (s) 2.) Are the settings for ambient light & phone ringers DESIGNED to not be saved if a reboot occurs? either by pulling battery or if it just happens while normal driving 3.) Are there know factors that cause a reboot on regular intervals- ie 20 hours~ if so, what has been found to resolve?- and not - just don't use phone
  23. Does MFT/MLT v3.7 have the same issue of not retaining settings for ambient light? *****FORD Support*****...NEED to clarify the statement: MFT/MLT system is designed to "reboot" or perform system maintenance in background after ~ 20 hours of use. This WAS the case but IS IT STILL true over all release versions? IE 1.8; 2.3 ,2.4, 2.7, 2.8, 3.0, 3.2, 3.6, 3.7 etc Because if the root cause of issue is after a reboot- settings blown away- and your system WILL REBOOT IN BACKGROUND...then there it is. When I asked dealer to inquire about installing v 3.7 -as a possible solution-even though 3.6 is latest for my 2011 I got : "I contacted the hotline and requested that we be able to provide your Lincoln with MLT v3.7. I have heard back from the hotline, and the official answer was no. It is only available for MFT and MLT vehicle 2014 and newer.? Really? Ford is THAT RIGID???? FORD>>>> What is also disturbing is the statement below from my dealer's service manager: "we have touched base with Ford/Lincoln's Subject Matter Expert and we have had our FSE ( Field service engineer) visit our dealership to look at your vehicle. Both our FSE and the Subject Matter Expert recommended not using any thumb drives or apps with the system." Really? Your system doesn't retain the memory settings & now they blame phones & scratch heads and say hay don't use anything with our system & then you won't see issue? Really come on!!!! For record--the error occurred at dealer when my phone was NOT there & there was nothing plugged into the USB ports. In addition, There ARE No apps released for the MFT/MLT system and I am not using my phone connected to car other than as a phone. I am not streaming or using maps. I paid for Sirius in car & I paid to have the built in nav system!! I paid to get ambient light & to choose a color. I did not pay for it to continually reset.
  24. But is mine that unique? The TSB mentions cycle ignition issue- Why Question to all.... on MFT3.6.02 have you set a different color default than white mkx /blue ford? have you set different ringers or text message ringers- have you noticed those settings over time changing? If so, than my issue not unique... if many do not pay attention or do not make the changes- doesn't mean the issue is not there- just not seen
