Waldo- any input?

Refresh my memory... On MFT/MLT Ford has coded the remote start tied to climate control to 32 degrees... so when it is 33,34,35 etc. the heated seats & steering wheel do NOT come on...but it is still COLD & I would like them to come on ..I can live few with the extra gas used for those 5-10 minutes as a trade off for warm hands & seat. Is there any way to change this? Can they dealer some how reset the code? If so - what would I need to request of them?

Before you spend $60 on sync services check out some retailers like best buy or walmart.. many garmon,tomtoms 1 time fee of $60 or $70 & have gadget for life Be Glad you do not have a Lincoln mkx vs the edge- ford rapes you $199 for the sync services... I personally like 408-752-8052- the information line powered by 24 7. Has same reports & same reporters & offers many of the identical sync services features FOR FREE!!! Check them all out before you decide what works best for your family

From an early adopter ...guess it is a different view point. There has been the 1.8, 2.3, 2.4, 2.7,2.8 ,2.11, 3.0, 3.2, 3.6, 3.7 version time line..... MY biggest gripe- the nav should work better & be more robust for the $$ spent & the underperformance you get. Even more so as MANY move away from car based & use there phones. I guess you haven't brought up the service & tech screens to see what was left incomplete & undeveloped... I guess you haven't read that Ford did NOT put out Version notes of what is new & what has changed I am sure many were like me Prior to buying...watching the Ford promos, going to the auto show in February , see the demo in person of what was supposed to be release in summer, & then In Fall 2010 sitting at dealer & playing with the info-entertainment system. Being told there will be apps, there will be update enhancements, there will be the missing items added back from pre-production version you saw at auto show, this is "normal" roll out- get to customer & then wow them little later with enhancement updates.... That said- Yes been very stable now that we are 3.6? or wait what is the deal with 3.7- why do we not get ??? BUT Web browser-no, wifi hot spot-no, updates over wifi-no , updates finally moved to usb download vs dealer trip- yes, counter to nowhere- yep we get that goof ball feature, GPS Lat/Long- there & then removed & back & then gone for good- yeah that was nice.., music rotating - was & gone, phone contact address directly to nav- there but never worked, usable- viewer friendly nav input- no- many must use the destination app or send to sync with mapquest to get that, sync app link- no, HD radio was all or nothing for FM/AM- yes now fixed to be independent selection, fan speed indicator removed from display & the temp removed- yes after complaining- temp came back & fan changed to a display "on demand" when changing only- but hey it came back, daylight savings button that is confusing & changes when you sync to gps clock- yep we get that dumb feature, calendar that does not refresh unless you press a button & that is all it does- no integration with any thing else,

Apps for MFT or MLT...Hmm.... 4 + years later & none. Now Ford announces done with MFT/MLT & onto sync 3. You can grow a forum thread as long as we would like but it is PRETTY CLEAR ! Ford isn't doing it.

So IIRC Waldo --on many occasions -has said there would be a version for mft.... I guess he was wrong????? 3.6 is where most of us are & the new software update reference is STILL a bunch PR nonsense since new update was way back on 8/13 -NOT NEW & the 3.7 is still not making sense on who gets & why and over the years the features that are broken- stay broken & the take away features remain lost USB counter to nowhere -never fixed direct input of gps Lat/Long -removed phone contacts address being sent to nav as a destination- broken & never fixed wifi password limited new problem not fixed wifi hotspot with no supported dongles- never fixed oh wait - don't fix sync, don't fix mft, role out the fixes on sync 3 lets not forget the price rape of $199 for Lincoln NOT the $60 for ford if you want sync services- really $200 just so we can send destinations to the nav since the in car keyboard interface is problematic? and the reboot in background that sends the LED lights back to white even when still checked on a color

No- What is REALLY old news was the report that the a "version" of that system would be applied to the older MFT/MLT vehicles... We even had an inside member here state something to that effect .. Last update was 8/13...... BUT we have seen none of any new updates let alone a revised system type update!

So the FREE option of taking an address from phone- that auto downloads to the MFT/Sync system & then just sending that to car- bypassing any services, servers, using the car keyboard or voice recognition to speak address several times, or any paid programs, was removed. ... Hmmm. .... in addition to as posted before removing the direct input of GPS Lat./Long. coordinates... ( as mentioned this helpful for campsites, state parks, Geo tagging to specific sites, websites that clearly state use this else navs rout you to our corp office & not the attraction, etc.)

OK .. I had free time before dinner & I got it to work on basic sync & MLT I backed up iphone, installed the 8.1 update. I did a settings, general, network reset ( not sure if needed but saw posted in other areas) On car I did a master reset. Power cycled car, deleted phone & toggled BT on/off in car (even though should have to due to master reset) Did a master again -powered cycle car... I paired phone - did not download phone book, power cycle car- tested got to work. went back downloaded phone book- tested. Now fingers crossed. MLT- no issues... backed up, deleted sync on phone-did update- went to car deleted iphone ref- power cycled. paired- on drive home & added back all my settings--needed a Traffic light or 2 to get started - due to driving restrictions... got my incoming texts to work with the go in BT set toggle on/off got to notifications turn on - toggle off/on procedure.

OK been 3 weeks.....UPDATE... Oh *****Rebecca****...Ideas??? 1.) iphone 6 plus ios 8.0.2 has worked FINE on MLT running 3.6.2.... ( hey where is the newer update..tired seeing the "new update" on web site but it is 14months old....) 2.) iphone 6 plus ios 8.0.2 ***HAS Issues on basic sync- after it was up & running successfully Basic Sync on a '08 Ford Taurus lost phone answering ability via the phone button on steering wheel. If press & hold car phone button & I can reject call BUT it does not allow an answer. Have to pick up iphone & use. You can switch between iphone speaker & iphone handset on the iphone but when go back to sync setting on phone - no go- silence. Incoming calls do come in & with phone ring tone but can not answer... the phonebook does download. Can set phone as a primary.... Confused now....since & I toggled the BT on & off, deleted sync from phone & phone from sync...did a master reset & even pulled battery cable. But on re-pair have same issue of incoming calls not going through. Issue seems to be phone in a privacy mode or something I signed into I-cloud on pc. I see 2 devices. Wife's iphone 6 plus & wife's ipad 4. ( her prior phone was a dumb phone- no old iphone device to delete). When reviewing the iphone & ipad- ( vs on pc) icloud is signed into with her correct sign in on both devices. Edit 1...Also... I saw when our house phone called my wife's paired cell---her cell phone caller id displayed on the car screen -not our house line. I saw others report this SAME issue when reading other boards... so still not sure how to proceed. Edit 2... ios8.1 came out today- so I intend to install & then try iphone 6plus again on car- clean pair of course- but wanted to know if there was another step that I should do or uncheck something or Help in next step....

This was posted over at sync forum regarding 3.7. Is this true? "It added arrival time on Navigation, also you can now turn off the beep's on both the 8 inch touch screen and the buttons below. It removed the phone address book to destinations It removed the "Easy Entry and Exit" selection. It removed the 30 min automatic shut off if car is left unattended." I am really interested in "It removed the phone address book to destinations" SINCE that has been an issue over last 4 years & would be shame if that feature was just removed vs fixed. Almost seems Ford just tries to sell the ":Sync Services" for $199 /$60 to use the Ford destination app to do the same task that a download address through phone contacts could do for free. I have watched the show "motion" & they go to a lot of national parks & state very clearly on show go to our web page to get the exact GPS coordinates to do the same site seeing. Shame that feature was removed- would love to see that come back in some form on a MFT redo... .

OK Thanks...just confusing when we see some have 3.7 option to download & many others do not!!! There is no clear direction on if it is even a timed roll out so say 2014's this week, 2013 next week, 2012 the following, & then 2011's ( the 1st with MFT/MLT) Seems silly not to have that info posted so you know when to "check" for the new software update especially when web site still says "new" even though it is last august 21013 version 3.6. And then to have the "its coming to older vehicles" post for the fully revamped version & then not have better direction- Would seem silly to install & then do it again unless we are months away...

More confused since Akirby posed in the mapquest thread about an update out soon ( after the discussion of people installing 3.7) .... so was that an indirect reply to wait on the 3.7 cause the main one is coming???

So confused 3.7 is slowly being released in 9/14 1 year & 1 month after 3.6 but it is not the "new" QNX based... right- - It even appears to just be minor background fixes from what I have seen posted So is the "new" operating system release still in works for 2011,2012,2013 vehicles as was mentioned or has things changed?

Waldo- so since MFT 3.7 is out & you said it is avail for your fusion- can your share what is new with mft 3.7 compared to 3.6. What may have been removed ? Is this the new operating system or is that still in the works... Where any of the key owners issues addressed- Applink, contact destinations to nav, Direct input Lat/Long, music counter,

nothing tonight.... Is it a timed roll out? Is it for all MFT/MLT vehicles? What is different?

Waldo thanks for the info ...TSB detail will help my dealer since they had raised the same question as I did & we did not do last week .... I'll recheck later or in next few days but as of 1 hr ago update not there yet for me....;( Any location link you can provide that will give an overview of what changes with the update? What new feature is included? Or more importantly what -if any- feature is taken away ? As mentioned I got success with iphone 6+ with 3.6.... Should I expect same success with new software- ie pairing, phone calls, texts, bt stream, ? OK wish list the nav lat/long direct input & the phone contacts to send as destination in nav?

On Sat & successfully set up my iphone 6 plus ( ios 8.0.2) with MLT 3.6. on my 2011 MKX Received texts, received & made calls, received a mapquest destination to sync services, played music over BT I also set up iphone 6+ on my wife's 2008 Taurus with basic sync. I can make/receive calls... I has partial success till I did a master reset in that & then good. Don't think it supports texts

Sat night I sent a destination successfully from map quest to sync services & it downloaded into nav. IE11 Win 7 pc to MLT 3.6

the contact addresses DO COME OVER ON BT....They are there in the car data to see.... It is FORD that CHOKES when it sees a country code...the GOOD OLD USA So Sorry Blue in the face of Ford avoiding writing a simple script to resolve!!! If we can ADD pictures for wallpaper we can ADD pictures to the contacts- I had several email discussions with Ford IT 2 years ago prior to them cutting everyone off....my email from them said it was a matter of time resources that prevented the fix & the original code locked down due to the farmed out contactor B square .. that is now fired & long removed

OK Thanks Just looking for more assistance when I read owners report issues with new iphone 6 & 6+ & with MFT/MLT and Ford says look at general BT best practices instead of going the extra mile. Is it really that many user errors of best practices on BT setup or is there a legitimate issue? I will test when I get mine. Shame response time from Ford is not as it should be. I guess nothing has changed in 4 years with the downloaded phone book contacts & the ability to use those contact addresses to have them sent as a destination to the nav as the MFT/MLT software has as option but it has been broken for past 4 years? It should work but doesn't. It was pointed out that in this Global world the phones that list country in the contact addresses seems to not function with MFT/MLT & was hoping for a Ford Solution fix after 4 years to either except the county field or be able to simple iqnore it & not through the send address to destination feature into a non-compliance hiccup & fail. That is not too much to ask but have seen no progress.

so has Iphone 6 & iphone 6 plus been tested & found fully working with MFT/MLT latest releases software version? Seems there are many posts over at sync my ride that talk about phone & forced into privacy setting or dropped calls... My iphone 6 hasn't arrived in mail yet to test but from what I have read....
