...SiriusXM started a two week freeview today of 60 channels. Don't need to do anything except tune in. Normally when this happens, I get traffic as well on the nav, but as of today, nothing. After this freeview period, you can get six months for $25 total. I may do that. Peace, DM

This is the technique I have used since I bought my 2011 Edge. I've done it many times and it doesn't erase all my settings. When I do it, the ones I do have to consistently redo are the following: Adjust Bass, Mid & Treble again. Turn on the back up camera grid lines. Turn on RDS in the radio settings. But that's it. All other settings including stuff like radio presets & nav stuff is all there. The USB option is intriguing, but what would really be great is to have a stable version of MFT. I know, I'm dreaming. More lag in the overall system? Maybe a tad. More lag in navigation? Definitely. I don't know if that's tied to the GPS lock issue or if the A4 card just gets read slower than the A3 card. Crazy how these updates are fixing some stuff and introducing new & bizzare bugs with each iteration. I know lots of owners here and on the Sync forum are very frustrated. I'm mildly irritated with MFT, but I really like everything else about my Edge. Sad that Ford can't stabilize the software. Peace, DM

Dingo, that looks very sharp. I have thought about doing my front sides & back to match the rear sides. The legal limit in Florida is 28%, but for those of you who have done this, I've always wondered if there were film brands that I need to make sure the installer stays away from. Had the 3.5.1 update done at my dealer on Wednesday since I have nav. Two days of driving and everything seems stable, but the last two updates have not gotten weird until several weeks down the road so I'm not reading too much into that. Most of the changes that have been mentioned, I've seen too, but nothing seems to be a deal breaker for me. The main thing I'm happy with is the voice command seems to be working well on my iPod control. I've never really had issues with voice command controlling my phone nor navigation, but USB control never worked consistently. Now it does. Very happy about that. I did ask my service rep to check in his system to make sure that the new warranty information was connected to my VIN. He verified that I had a 4 yr / unlimited mileage warranty on my APIM from the date I bought the car. Peace, DM

Thanks. I tried my wife's iPod and the voice commands worked just fine. I then tried my iPod again and now the voice commands are working just fine. Very odd.

Back on 9/15, I did the self update to 3.2.2 and all went well. Unfortunately, for the past few weeks, my system has developed a new issue. Voice commands won't work properly now for USB. Voice commands for Nav & Phone work fine, but when I give the voice command to control my iPod, the system gets confused and does nothing. For example, let's say I'm listening to the radio and I hit the voice command button. I would say: "USB > Play Album Beautiful Day." I then hear the Sync tone that the system has accepted the command and the source will switch to my iPod, but the album will not play. In fact, nothing plays. So when I try to manually browse the iPod after that point, the only thing I see that are available to me are the video files (movies, video podcasts, etc.), but no audio anywhere. I can switch to another audio source, but no longer have control of the iPod either through voice command or manual browsing. At that point, I have only found three fixes: 1) Kill the car and restart, 2) Reboot MFT or 3) Disconnect & reboot my iPod. All of those allow regular browsing of the audio files on my iPod through the MFT system, but essentially my voice commands can no longer be used for USB. That really is one of the best uses of Sync's voice command since it takes so stinkin' long to get to an album on my iPod to play it. I didn't have this problem with 3.0.2, but that update was done at the dealership. Anybody having a similar problem? Peace, DM

First noticeable glitch for me has to do with the reverse alarms. As they always have, when they detect something and beep, the systems drops the volume level on whatever audio source is playing. But now, when the reverse alarms stop, the volume level stays low and does not resume to it's previous level. Not even if I put it in park, drive or whatever. The only reset so far that I've figured out and turning off the ignition. Other than that, I'm at a week with the new update and glitch free. :unsure: Peace, DM

Well, I did it and surprisingly it seems to have gone well. It took every bit of 45 minutes and then some. With the price of gas, I look forward to Ford reimbursing us for these idleing sessions in our driveways. Not all of my previous settings made it. Had to re-pair my phone and adjust a few other small things. So far, everything works. Temp guage is back next to the clock. Phone calls, Bluetooth audio, SMS texts, & Nav seem to all be working fine. My iPod indexed and works well, BUT, it's clear I've lost cover art which is frustrating. I checked the setting too. Anybody else having this issue? Not much damage done, but man these things stress me. Time will tell though. As always, YMMV. Peace, DM

Ok, so is it safe to install 3.2.2 yet? I just went on SMR and the window popped up and said an update for my Gen 2 system was waiting. I haven't updated since I got the blue package in the mail and that one didn't go so well. Had to take my Edge into the dealer to get it fixed and thankfully they did. It's on the USB stick, but that's as far as I've gone. Peace, DM

Me four. I have completely given up on manually inputting nav info. Sad, but there is nothing intuitive about the manual input and some things on the nav are just inexplicable. I use voice commands to route to a destination and when that doesn't work, I call Sync services like delldell does. Peace, DM

Understood. I too am frustrated with how unreliable MFT still is.

I don't have the Note, but I have the HTC Evo Design 4G and ever since the MFT update here's what I've noticed: If I turn on Bluetooth on my phone & then crank the vehicle, the phone automatically connects every time. If I forget and crank the car first and then turn on Bluetooth, the phone automatically connects only about 50% of the time. FWIW. Peace, DM

It is interesting on the iPad app that when you touch the time on the home screen, it looks like the next screen will allow us the option of having the temp displayed or not. So they didn't just put it back, but they put an option to have it or not. Also, the home screen quadrant lines seem more pronounced. I just want App Link in MFT to work the way it does in the Focus. Have I mentioned that? Peace, DM

Well, I have downloaded the most recent Andriod app (updated 6/12) and the iPad app (updated 6/29) and they both have the outside temp display in the center top of the home screen. Not sure what to tell you. Peace, DM

Can anybody tell me if I could get Sirius Travel Link and Sirius Traffic all by themselves? My free trial period is up and honestly I think I'll use those two features a lot more than the Sirius radio stations. Peace, DM
