  1. So, this got real today. They called and said they got the light on and ran the pressure and it has 6psi, also the codes for smoke out the pipes, etc. When I bought this car, I got screwed. The selling dealer didn't disclose they attempted the cylinder head repair. I paid for it, learned after and was screwed unless I wanted to spend coin fighting it. Warranty in tack, I swallowed hard and drove it. A year later, here I am. My dealer, who I do trust, told me that the repair they did was not done right, or it needs a new engine. They are calling Ford tomorrow to discuss it. It will be fixed, but it's one or the other. I'm beyond myself. Frustrated I got screwed when I bought it and now here I am. Adding insult to injury, the car lost $8k in value since I bought it a year ago. Adding to it? No rental. We're fighting that with our dealer and they are understanding; however, since we did not buy it there, they aren't that flexible with us. Nobody is dying and all will be good, but I can't tell you how deflated I am with this all. Shumax
  2. Not thrilled. Dealer called and admitted the car is overfilled on oil but only by a pint. So, 3/4 over full equates to a pint? Maybe? Thoughts? They said the light is off and it does not store a code. I find that hard to believe. Two mechanics I know said it would. Who is right? They want to drive it a day with a manual oil pressure guage to see whats going on. I agreed and here we are. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  3. I had the oil changed at the dealer a couple of weeks ago. I notice, now, the oil level is a solid 3/4 over the high level mark on the dipstick. The light has come on and off only a couple of times and is now off. When it had come on/off, it was after extended driving - more than 30min. Maybe that was enough time to foam the oil up? I have an appointment Monday at the dealer who changed the oil. I am hopeful they can just drain some oil out and all is well. Would the computer store that code? With the light not on, I am worried they will push me out the door and say nothing is wrong. Thanks for the insight! Shumax
  4. Also...I noticed the engine appears overfilled with oil. Its above the fill mark quite a bit. The dealer changed it about a week ago. Could it being OVER filled trip that light?
  5. 2016 Sport with 19,500 miles. At 10,000 miles it had the cylinder heads replaced due to it using oil, smoking out the tail pipes and throwing codes. No issues until today. Had Ford change the oil two weeks ago. Today, the low oil pressure light came on several times. No loss of power, no smoke out the tail pipes and the oil level appears fine. Made an appointment for Monday at the dealer. Any thoughts? Thanks! Shumax
  6. Agree on the Ecopias. Have the 422 Pluss and they are very smooth and quiet. Good in the rain, too!
  7. I guess I don't follow. I agree with you, brother. Half worn Blizzak's are no better than a new all season when it comes to taking off. My contention is that people look at a snow tire the wrong way. A "new" one will certainly help you take off a bit better; however, where they really excel is in their ability to help you STOP. That's what people miss. Sorry if you read into my messaging the wrong way. I agree with you. I just think attention needs to be given to what a snow tire really does - it helps you STOP. Shumax
  8. I have run snow tires for years. Years. A 50% worn Blizzak is absolutely NO better than an all season tire. Not one bit. I am not at all surprised to see the Michelin keep up. Its comparing an apple to an apple. The biggest attribute of a snow tire is its ability to help you STOP. Taking off is nice and helpful, but its ability to bite in and stop you is what really is important. Brand new blizzaks on my wifes 2016 Sport are like chewing gum on warm pavement. Same for the blizzaks on my 2014 Explorer Sport. Love them! Shumax
  9. So, after much exposure to wheel well rot with Honda and Acura, I was dismayed to see how Ford handled our 2016 Sport. The rubber trim that covers the lip of the rear fender seems well intentioned, but it traps moisture. Catch twenty two, though - you want to chance trapping moisture, or chance rock chips and abrasion that will lead to rust? Never sure which is better but I ripped the rubber guards off of Hondas I owned in the past and then cleaned that lip and touched only minor chips in along the way. Regardless, I took the Edges off this weekend. After 13k, they were caked with dirt and other debris. I cleaned them and the wheel well lip. Also applies a light coating of white lithium grease on the rubber trim when I put it back on. Also soaked the inside of the fender lip with a light spray grease. Hope it helps - really hate this design. Our 2007 did not have it.... Shumax
  10. I bought the clear vinyl off of Amazon. It was of nice enough quality. 2 hours of messing with it, along with a heat gun and I had it down and it looked like crap. I've tinted windows before, so I get how the process works - this isn't my first rodeo. Tiny white bubbles like you see in window tint everywhere. Let it dry and it was actually worse. Peeled it off and sent it back to Amazon. Frustrating use of my time and effort. A week later, I have the AVS deflector on my porch. After taking it out of the box, it was on the car in less than 10min. I am not a fan of these things, but the dark grill helps it bend in and looks acceptable to me. Shumax
  11. Thanks, all. Is the hand pump required to fill it back up? Shumax
  12. Thanks. Actually, the Escape is what started it all. A coworker of my wifes just shared her experience and it sounded ridiculous. Got me thinking about the Edge...
  13. With the frigid temps, I started to think about the battery in our 2016 Sport. It looks like a royal PIA to replace - tucked up under the cowling, etc. What if you need tp jump start the car? It doesn't appear that cables are going to fit in there real well - thoughts? Also, I'm assuming removal means removing that cowling where the wipers are, correct? Anyone have any experience on this topic? Thanks, Shumax
  14. I actually am going to try to install it myself - watched a few of the videos online, etc. I bought an 18" piece that will go all the way across the hood, obviously. I've had them installed on other cars I've owned and they did a nice job of protecting the paint. Arrives Thursday - hopefully the installation goes as well as they make it look. Shumax
  15. Does the 2016 Sport have a drain plug? Anyone have a write up out there on the fluid replacement on a 2016 Sport? Thanks! Shumax
  16. Has anyone had any experience with the clear vinyl wrap you install on the front of your hood? I'm looking at a few online that are meant to be cut to fit. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that. Watched a few videos online and they make it look so very easy. I'm sure it is after you've done it 100 times. I'm not a real big fan of the bug guard, so I'm considering options and wondering if anyone has used something like this and, if so, did you install it yourself? Input on that process? Thanks! Shumax
  17. New price! $650. Great setup! Who wants them!!!???
  18. I dont like the way it looks against the red paint. I have done it before with a clear version - painted the inside the body color. I was just not sure if it would show through on the charcoal version. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks!
  19. Considering one for my 2016 Sport. Cant find a clear version. Can I buy a charcoal/black one and paint the INSIDE of it to match the body color? Thanks! Shumax
  20. These are new, never used. Left and right FRONT control arms. Purchased for a 2007 Ford Edge. Took them out of the box to look at them, but that's it. Brand new! Make me an offer. I'm in Central Ohio. Shumax
  21. These are the Blizzak DM-V2's in size 235/70/17. No TPMS sensors. They are mounted on rims and were fitted to my 2007 Ford Edge that we sold. The tires were replaced at the end of last season. They probably have 300 miles on them. They are $160/tire, shipped, on Tire Rack. There is no odd wear - they look new. Tire gauge shows 12/32nd's left. So, they are what they were new. The rims have been through 5 Seasons of about 4,000 miles each season. They do show wear, but no bends. I have a Hunter Road Force tire balancer and just balanced all four assemblies. They are smooth and ready to go. Come with lug nuts, too. $750, plus shipping. Thanks, Shumax
  22. I purchased a 2016 and have the two original keys, as well as the blank. I would like to add at least one more fob as I've been bitten by this in the past when I lost one fob and only had one. Several hundred dollars later in programming bologna (watched them do it; took 3min.) I was on my way feeling violated. Can I go out on the net - Ebay, Amazon, etc. and buy a fob or two and program them on my own since I have the original two fobs? If so, does anyone have instruction on how to do that? This is on a 2016 Sport with the 401A package, if that matters? Thank you! Shumax
  23. I think the mount is excellent. Sticks really well and is sturdy. The detector doesn’t bounce around one bit. Very sturdy!
  24. Not a fan of the blend mount. I used a 3M permanent mount and mounted high, just above the RVM on the drivers side. V1 is in my other vehicle the same way but on the passengers side above the RVM...
  25. Thats great you have had such a positive experience. Isnt Escort charging for updated firmware and database information? Uniden is not. If you spend some time at RD forum, there are many accounts/reports/testing on the various models. The Uniden is always on top. The blind spot signal reject in my old Redline was terrible and it doest appear the Redline EX is any better. I was surprised, too... Shumax.
