  1. Got our 2011 Sport first week of november, I love it. Sure, it hasn't been without it's problems, but I'd still recommend it to friends. When MFT is completely straightened out, then I'll be 100% satisfied.
  2. II have a 2011 Sport. Reported this problem and was told that it was a recall. Maybe he meant service bulletin? Anyway, it was some sub assembley that was wrong, its going back on cause its still pulling right.
  3. Did you get the factory DVD players? Congrats on the new truck. You'll just love it more the more you drive it.
  4. With every revision of the software though you have to admit it's getting better and better.
  5. Check your fuses! I had this with My 2008 Limited. Apparently something in the wiring harness shorted and kept blowing fuses as soon as i put them in. New harness solved all the problems
  6. I'll chime in to root on the Sport. I love the styling and I did aftermarket HIDs for the same end result. I will say, that I wish I had the Adaptive C.C. Thats one feathure Id really love to have. Aside from that, I dont mind the 2mpg drop for the paddle shifters larger engine and overall look of the vehicle, it really stands out!!!!
  7. Ive always used the 35's, so i decided to try the 55's and see what they were like. Not a real discernable difference to me. I bought the wiring harness for $12.50. Its got dedicated battery power, a fuse holder, and a relay. You plug into that, your headlight voltage triggers the relay and their harness holds all the electric while the lights are lit. Error eliminators were not needed. You probably dont even need the harness, but i always used it anyway.
  8. My cousin put mine on his 2008. horrible! Which surprised me since he has 20" and i didnt think it would be such a difference.
  9. Eric, you asked and answered your own question. I've seen the advanced key system and its pretty spectacular. I had left a msg with my friend who installed it after reading your post, and when I returned today I see that you've already found that solution. My friend said that it was easy to install and its been perfect for nearly a year. Please follow up after you decide on a product and have it installed.
  10. II spent $45 at ddmtuning.com and got a set of 9006 slim ballast 5000k hid lights. They went in in 30 minutes and look great. Buy the relay and fused harness for $12.50, its a no brained. Beautiful truck, congrats.
  11. i got the exact, exact same one. Let me know if a picture would help ease the pain.
  12. Forget the BBB, you may wanna contact a priest , it sounds like your car is possessed. glass breaking grills splitting .... what's next? Are the headrests going to turn in circles?
  13. Just dropped off my Sport for service and the guy said this is perfectly normal. It's the variable valve opening closing something or other....
  14. Good deal, welcome to the club! The HIDs are no big deal, I added DDMTuning kit for $45 dollars and it's awesome. Post the pics! We all love pictures!
  15. I WOULDNT trade it for any truck. My Wifes truck is nice, but it doesn't compare to my Sport. of course, I tell her she got the better deal.
  16. i love my Edge Sport. Sold two already for my sales guy! One guy at work was parking his BMW X5 by me daily until he asked for a test drive. we went out for a ride, and two weeks later he has his own. I wouldn't trade this truck for any other on the market, including my wife's 2011 explorer.

    MPG

happily reporting that our 5k mile Sport is averaging 19.7mpg mixed driving.
  18. awesome! You sir have fantastic taste in automobiles. I wish you many happy and safe motoring miles!!
  19. my understanding is that ecoboost v 6 is not good for the edge because the whole front sub structure is not beefy enough to support it, or the stress that is caused by it rather. I was told that the whole front of the flex had to be re engineered to support the stress that is caused by that motors torque.
  20. Richy,

Thanks for the tip on Car Pro products and CQuartz sealants. Through my motorcycle parts and customization company, Blue Line Choppers, I've become the newest dealer of their products. I hope I can help you in the future. police and firemen always get a discount.

  21. Yes, I agree, that's the nature of technology, nothing is future-proof. Processors will get speedier, and be able to compute more and more data, and that will lead to new improvements. I do hope to see a few more revisions of the current software, and hope that Ford follows through with its initial plan to offer "Apps" for MFT. If the few remaining bugs in my MFT were ironed out, I too could happily live it it day to day. My wish list is simple, a little improvement in the bluetooth connectivity to reduce the signal dropping, a quicker touch to action time, and little speed on the navigation (seems to be a few seconds slow) and a few seconds at 65MPH is a missed turn... Other than that, I do like MFT and cant wait to see where it goes in the future.
  22. I'm trying to match an adhesion promoter to the type of plastic used in interior of the Edge. Specifically, in the rear cargo area. Does anyone know what type of plastic it is? PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) PP (Polypropylene) TPU (Thermoplastic Urethane) ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) PET (Polyester) RIM (Reaction Injection Molded)
  23. II just heard that MFT SYNC is being re written from scratch. I was speaking to a technician at the new york international auto show. this person stated that the first appearance of the new my ford touch/ sync would be in the 2013 refresh of the ford flex. my follow up question since we were standing in front of a edge sport, was how will they upgrade? as disheartening as the answer was, they said that much like you can't upgrade an old computer with current software, neither will you be able to upgrade to the improving technology of MFT on your "old" car....
  24. Hey Greg, Thank you for your service. Regarding your choices, we actually own an 11 Edge Sport (mine) and an 11 Explorer (hers). We have two small children, and although the Edge can hold two strollers two kids, and most of their stuff, we just needed a little extra room. I brought my wife to look at the EX, we placed our double stroller behind the third row seat and closed the hatch. Everything fit. When you have the inlaws with you or friends and you need that extra seating plus the room for the kids and their stuff the Ex is the way to go. We are totally happy with it. With that said, I love my Edge. It's sporty, comfortable, and it's sharp looking. When the weathers crummy and I can't drive my sports car, I'm just as pleased driving the Edge. You can't go wrong with the comfort and features of the Edge. A co worker just got the new Journey and as nice as it is I like my interior and exterior far better. I think Ford chose better materials for the interior. They have nice textures, pleasing colors, and a very good fit and finish. You just don't get that feeling in the Dodge. It feels....cold, hard, plasticy. If you like the hard edges of Dodges design language then go for it, for me I really like the smooth front end of the Edge better. Do your research and read as much as you can on all three. Just so you could see them side by side, here are pictures of my wife's Ex and my Edge. If you want anymore or of something specific drop a line. Andy http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/7113-2012-model-year/page__p__57001#entry57001
  25. From what I understand, daytime running lights use a module that US cars don not have installed. You may want to contact your parts dept. And tell them you already bought, or inherited an 11 sport and need to convert it. Try to get a cost and part number and then see if they'd be able to program it on for you. Whatever you find out, post back because a lot of owners here in the US would like these as well.
