Just a follow up: I went tot the dealer with a right pull problem on my Sport (2011) and then had this addresses at the same time. It had gotten to the point where each of the four tires was always a different pressure. Ford said that they're having problems with the 22" wheel assemblies from the factory having dirt or an otherwise contaminated seal from the factory. My tires were dismounted, the rims wiped clean, the tire beads wiped clean and then remounted and rebalanced. All seems good now.

For the $795 by it at a minimum for the resale. It's def worth it. If it were $2795 or even $1795 I'd say pass.

new 2011 edge with faults already 3 weeks old
Edgieguy replied to wankaplank's topic in Exterior & Body
I had / have the same problems. The dealer corrected the door by adjusting the strikers. The belt molding at the window line is tougher to adjust. The dealer tried twice and it made no difference. I had the same problem on my 2008, and it was never corrected either. So the belt line molding mis alignment problem was here from the beginning. -
Sweet congrats. I remember the feeling of picking up my new sport. Enjoy

Bassani makes a nice exhaust. A friends shop uses them for a lot of Mustangs. If I change, this is what I'll be using.

Tail Light Swap

Yes they fit. You have to change the connectors / wiring. -
I went with the Sport. For me it was all about looks. It's an AWD SUV. I've got a sports car to speed in, not that the Sport is any Slouch, far from it. The finished lower body panels really finish off this truck. Parked next to a regular Edge with the un painted body panels it looks like a completely different truck. I've been asked more times than I can remember if "Those wheels are stock". They really stand out. The ride? The ride is awesome! My sport on 22's rides as nice as my wife's 2011 Explorer on 18's. Handling is superb for a 4200 lb truck. Paddle shifters?!!!!! INSANE!!!!! Yea I wanted HID's, so you know what? I put them on aftermarket for $45 and they work beautifully. Driver entry? Had to have it, and got it. Actually my Sport came with everything but headrest DVD players. After having a 2008 platinum white limited with 20's, i drove the 11 Sport and bought it the next day. You'll be happy with either one I'm sure, but weigh what's more important to you. 0-60 times? A sporty suspension that makes this vehicle feel like a sports sedan instead of a heavy SUV? Don't mind the lower cladding black vs painted? For me, if the Sport wasn't available or wasn't available in white I would have been looking at different trucks. It just turned out to be the whole package for me.

I used bank of America who offered me the full vehicle cost at 3.5%. why not borrow at that rate?

I got tired of the elastic bands around the headrests so I sewed on a strip of Velcro on the leading edge which just grips the carpeted seat back. On the side wings I did the same and then attached adhesive backed Velcro into the window sills to hold them securely. It works well and keeps the cover straight which was my biggest peeve. If anyone's interested I'll post photos .

Dr. Color chip is a great product. I could not believe how well it worked on my wife's white pearl Lexus before we traded it in for her new explorer. I would use and recommend that product to anyone.

Congrats to you! You have excellent taste in vehicles and lucky enough you also chose the fastest color! You are going to continue to enjoy this truck the more you drive it. People cannot believe that the 22's are stock wheels, I get asked all the time.

Believe me, theirs plenty of willing "customers" no matter what state you're in. Sometimes we actually have to raise our threshold of what we'll stop because EVERYONE is doing 20 over, and some people want to do 30+ over....

Want it turbo'd? Want it to be reliable? Call John at Broadway Performance in Passaic NJ.

Wish I had this feature on my Sport, I use CC all the time. As far as radar detectors are concerned, the only thing they're good for is to remind you to pull over and collect your speeding ticket. most departments use instant on these days or laser which is fired through a gun w a scope on it so that the car timed is the car stopped.100% accuracy.

2011 Ford Edge Tinting
Edgieguy replied to scojo3's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
It was about 17% on a light meter. -
Wow, hope your mileage has gone up. My 3.7 Sport Awd is returning 20.4 religiously with the same highway city split. I drove all the speed limits once for an entire tank of gas, no less no more than what was posted. Got 24.3. I'm yet to take a full on highway cruise control road trip, but at least I know where I'd like to be economy wise. Check your tire pressures too. For what it's worth, I'm running a K&N drop in filter too.

My 2011 sport went back 3 times for this. The finally rotated the left strut assembly 180*. That was the fix from a Ford tech who drove the car around a few days. I read it was an improperly machined bearing seat. So even though you are within factory specs you are still out of spec because everything is based on a wrong machining

Anyone tried the Weathertech window shields on an Edge yet?
Edgieguy replied to jackson5's topic in Exterior & Body
i have them on my 2011 Sport, they're awesome. They fit tight, and they require you to move the Windows up and down a few times to get the window pinch atop used to the plastic being there. After they were there a few days the Windows move freely. I love weathertech products and wouldn't think twice about recommending them to anyone. The look is super clean, and when you crack open the Windows at speed, its still pretty quiet. -
Mine will be returned a third time Tuesday morning for another try at fixing the right drift.

I changed to Stainless Steel hoses, porterfeild pads and fresh fluid in my 2008 Limited. It made a world of difference. Go for it. The brakes in the 2011's are much improved. Your 2008 wont feel the same, but it will improve lots.

I've always purchased harnesses from the same vendor that I bought my HIDs from, try to contact the seller and ask about a harness. Not always neccesary, mind you. The cut off is fine, just re-align the lights when you're done installing. I'm not sure where that blowing up your SJB came from??? I ran HIDs on our 2008 for 3 years without as much as a flicker...

So I decided to experiment with my 2011 Sport, and on my current tank of gas, I've been using CC and doing the speed limit and nothing more. If its 55, I do 55. So far after half a tank I'm at 23.4mpg. This is mixed highway and 25 mph side roads. So its dead on.

Take a good look at your tires outer edge. At 5200 miles I'm noticing cupping, and that's directly related to this suspension problem / TSB. I'll be bringing this up with the dealer. In case you're not familiar with what cupping is, seethes links. http://www.ehow.com/about_5509983_causes-cupping-tires.html http://www.procarcare.com/includes/content/resourcecenter/encyclopedia/ch25/25readtirewear.html

Dynamite is a waste of money. In all of my previous cars I've used a product called quiet car. Www.quietcar.net. Fantastic spray on visco elastic that takes vibration energy (noise) and turns it into low level heat. I've used this with great success. It's worth buying the gun and using a compressor. When I sprayed this into my 2005 Escape, it was quieter than my dads Lexus RX300. Plus the weight in dynamite that you would need to equal the noise canceling of this stuff is beyond compare. Read up on it, try it, you won't be disappointed.

CLEANING WINDSCREEN ON BAMR
Edgieguy replied to goatee's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
I vacuum mine, then use a damp MF cloth to wipe away any guts.
