  1. You can enable the hood switch yourself if your handy with FORScan. Very easy to do. You need an adapter that allows you to communicate with the car from a laptop, which is inexpensive. Here's the instructions if you wish to tackle this solo: http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&p=18068 Heres the Bluetooth scan tool I use (it works for 99% of the modifications, including activating the hood switch): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005NLQAHS And clearly you need to go to another dealer. Or you can bring this to your local one, which clearly do not seem eager to assist. Page 11 clearly instructs the ford technician how to activate the hood switch using IDS: http://d354nuoz4t18d4.cloudfront.net/b0a0b93e061c59a634fb0e1a49af89e6/images/custom/instructions/RemoteStarts/Ford/Vehicle%20Security-Remote%20Start-Remote%20Access%20Installation%20Instructions%202016%20thru%202017%20Edge.pdf?cb=1493050029
  2. Wow! That is a lifetime achievement award of bumping a 10 year old thread (I mean, you prefaced your question that way). Have you inspected the sensor for water intrusion? This thread may be of use: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19870-outside-air-temp-sensor-not-working/
  3. Just got my z23s installed and performed the bedding/break-in on the way home (I wish someone would have followed me and recorded it, I thought for sure there would be a field sobriety check in my future). Definitely a noticeable improvement in stopping!
  4. I did the entire swap for under $700. Check ebay and white bear ford auto nation for the ancillary components.
  5. Nothing worse than cringing while reading. I keep mine a tad on the loose side. Cant stand to manhandle them during a flat situation.
  6. You can make a backup. I have done this with my a6 and a7 card (never needed it though, the cards stayed in place throughout their lifespan). http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=6500 Also, definitely buy on eBay as was pointed out.
  7. Is been reported many times throughout this forum. Many have changed over to LED bulbs. I dont think ford ever took ownership of any issues. If your socket is still functional, LED bulbs may suffice without further damage or worry. If the socket is warped beyond being usable, then youll need to have it repaired/replaced.
  8. My 2012 has a fold flat passenger seat. Used it yesterday.
  9. Nick in 3... 2... 1... Sorry, Nick. I really struggled keeping quiet! I have HIDs in my halogen PROJECTORS. Never been flashed by oncoming traffic. Aimed properly and I dont see any perceivable scatter (as per my very scientific and calibrated garage door light bounce test)
  10. Reviving this thread as just picked up a z23 full kit. Ill have them put on once we get back from vacation with the kids next week and keep everyone posted. Got a really good deal on Black Friday ($273 shipped). Ill update this with pics once installed.
  11. Hmm... If it's a knockoff, then perhaps that can be the issue. From what I read on the FORScan forum, it's not a FORScan issue (at least they are not willing to take any blame). http://www.forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4408
  12. Did you get the camera from ford or was it a 3rd party (e.g. eBay) camera? I ask because ForScan has notoriously had issues with completing the calibration routine with non-OEM replacement cameras. If you look at the DTCs, so you have a B115E:08-48 error?
  13. Just for a data point. I just purchased weathertechs for my 2012. Never had anything other than the OEM carpeted mats and they still look brand new. Just finally decided to go with the liners as I want to pamper my ride for a few more years.
  14. You'll need to replace it (part number should be GT4Z-18936-ACPTM). You can see where you snapped the mounting stud/bracket off the antenna (it's still sticking out from your roof). You'll need to drop the headliner to remove the old/broken bracket and then install the new antenna. I suppose with enough epoxy and soldering you could repair it, but I would just replace it (potential leaks, etc). Not sure if the painted cover can be salvaged, as the replacement wouldn't be color matched. You can order paint matched antennas here: http://5hundred.net/index.php?/store/product/16-oem-shark-fin-antennas/
  15. What about something like this: https://www.directechs.com/VehicleCompatibility.aspx?p=-1&v=15482&ps=1&s=0&c=0&pr=-1
  16. https://m.alibaba.com/product/60524991678/12-1-inch-2g-32g-android.html http://www.roadnavi.com/product/m377-ford-mondeo-media-satnav-2014-15/ But Omar is correct, Sync 3 is your best bet as none of the android based systems have received rave reviews.
  17. My understanding is that the hood pin is actually part of the hinge in the 2017+ MYs. In that case you'll just need to have it turned "on" in IDS. If you open the hood and try to remote start the car, you should get an error. You won't get a message whenever the hood is open or closed.
  18. The Lexus forum link was fantastic! Great read.
  19. The gps is ls located inside the dash; behind the instrument panel cluster (speedometer). Took me 10-15 minutes to get my dash apart as I placed my new GPS right next to the OEM one when I did my SYNC 3 install.
  20. So, this thread devolved quickly... 1. There's clearly a legality involved. If you are not an Emergency Responder, a flashing light is not allowed (I had to take 2 EVOC courses and sign my life away to get a blue light in NJ). 2. If you're not paying attention, a neon barn wouldn't grab your attention. Yes, I agree that something is better than nothing, but you just can't unteach stupid. 3. I have been on a conference call (hands-free) and, admittedly, have paid no attention to flashing lights in my rearview (luckily, they blew past me). Clearly, anyone will do whatever they want to their vehicles, just please keep in mind the effect it will have on all other drivers who, respectfully, pay attention.
  21. I took the headlights out, tape masked them and plastic-dipped them.
