  1. Yup. This has been confirmed with beta users and sync owners. Ios6 and sync will allow text message functionality.
  2. If you read the sync my ride forum iOS 6 beta users have confirmed that sync can utilize text message features from an iPhone with ios 6. Can't wait!
  3. It was very easy to do. Feel free to pm me and I'll walk you through it.
  4. If you have the SONY system, then it is 12 speakers. Us SEL owners (read: CHEAP BASTARDS ) get half the fun!
  5. Actually, this link is a little more representative of the Edge mirror. The green plug for the visor is under the pillar cover (removed with a slight tug): http://www.escape-city.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4074
  6. Ugh! Seems like I dont have contacts for the power relays anyway. So, this wouldnt work. Off to try the OEM trailer harness converter.
  7. Can anyone who has the OEM Tow package, take a photo of the trailer harness connection to the main wiring harness (see my photo for a better explanation). I'd also like a photo of where you plug in the OEM to 4 prong connector (if needed). Basically, my thought is that there must be some harness that fits between the plugs in my photo that provides the trailer harness (between the main wire feed and parking lights). Here's some photos to show you what I'm talking about: Looks like there are some OEM connectors that would work on one side of this connector , but I would not be able to plug the other side (parking lights) back in: http://www.etrailer....ite/118260.html or http://www.etrailer....urt/C56110.html Id like to see a photo of the OEM Tow package, showing this connection point (should be under the rear bumper, just above the hitch): and here is the harness separated (this is where I think there could be an plug that has a M & F side that fits between these 2 and provides a trailer harness plug): I do have 3 relays from my old escape, so providing power to the new harness should be OK. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! P.S. Seems like part #23 might work (http://www.tascapart...agramCallOut=23), but it is also a lot more harness than I'm looking for.
  8. Gentex manufactures the mirrors, so that might help when searching eBay. I simply installed a homelink module in my visor ($25 on eBay).
  9. Thanks for this write up! Got my hitch installed (with a buddy helping to hold things) in 45 minutes! Just a few notes, from reading your post and my experience (just finished up an hour ago): 1. We sprayed down the exhaust system with a water hose to cool things down. This also allowed me to separate the rubber isolators from the hanger with a VERY easy pull, no tools, no lubricant (it also helps that I only have 2000 miles on the car, so they are fresh and flexible). They also went back on with ZERO effort. I only removed the 3 rearmost isolators, 1 each behind each exhaust tip and center one behind the muffler). 2. No need to remove the heat shields. I only had to trim the tab that was inserted in one of the mounting holes. The other part of the shield was not in the way. All in all a very, VERY easy install. Here's a photo of my car without the hitch (when my car was 1 day old) and an hour ago with the hitch installed. The hitch puts no pressure on the lower bumper fascia and has a nice, flush/close install. Thanks again for your GREAT write up. Definitely helped us out. P.S. That is the Scion xB bumper cover on my car: http://www.amazon.co...ils_o01_s00_i00
  10. What headaches? I'm hoping I don't have any issues. Just got back from a night drive and my type 2s work great!
  11. Success!!!! I didn't need to use relays, I only used these resistors: http://www.v-leds.com/Load-Resistors/6-OHM-50W-2-BULB-LOAD-p4783296.html Took me 5 minutes and they fired up white right away. The ONLY thing that is a little off is that one bulb turns white (after firing amber) a few tenths of a second after the other. It is definitely the bulb as switching sides doesn't correct the problem. I'll get over it. I might email them just to see what they say.
  12. There's really only 4 physical speakers. The front factory speakers are two-way speakers, so ford considers them 2 speakers each. Front door + rear door speakers = 6 Speakers, according to ford. So, now I have an 8 speaker system!
  13. It's the color that's the least blue, of the blues. I don't think it looks gray/white either, but my guess is that's the color being referenced (and the one I use).
  14. 5k color and the turn signal alternates between off and amber (vs white and amber) and is more distinguishable to oncoming cars. Thats just my reason though....
  15. Oh crap! I wanted to install these friday and this is getting out of my league! Any photos/videos would be great! I thought all would need to do is use the resistors. The type 1s work with ZERO modifications. Not a fan of cutting factory wires. I'd rather use scotch locks (whatever they're called). Damn.
  16. I would imagine you could. Just depends what bin Cree you can get. Luxeon might be a better match. It should just be soldering the new led to the factory board. Having said that, I love my DTBL DRLs. I just didn't tell the wife and made sure I stocked up on formula for my daughter BEFORE I purchased them (wife still hasn't noticed the lights are different).
  17. Thanks Rick, it does. I realized after I posted that blinkers are outer wires and parking is middle wire. I'll get these hooked up Friday and post results. Welcome to FEF!
  18. Mike, just sent you a pm. Just took mine out of my new 2012 edge that I got last month. They're wrapped and in a box.
  19. It really is very easy to install! I've never done it before and I had all of them installed in about 1.5 hours. The wires I linked to have an oem plug that clips into the factory speaker harness and the other end has 2 pink/tan clips that you'll need to cut off, exposing the wires you'll place into the speaker crossovers. Getting the door panels off are easy, once you find the hidden screws (under the window switch in the back doors and under the window switches and upper plastic door grip in the front). There's no way you'll need a professional as long as you're comfortable removing your door panels (again, VERY easy to do). Feel freeto ask away, we can always post photos to guide you along...
  20. Go get 2 sets of these: http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-6829CF-Inch-2-Way-Speakers/dp/B0018SMVCS and 2 sets of these: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-72-5600-Speaker-Adapter-Vehicles/dp/B001OAB6BW/ref=dp_cp_ob_e_title_3 Enjoy!
  21. Have you tried to reset mft? You can just pull the fuse panel plug and the reset should fix it.
  22. I would be slightly cautious about washing it with soap. As a surfactant, the soap will actually draw and hold more dirt down into the fibers (these were not designed to be reused). It smells good and looks clean now, but will soon become a mess... Also, if you cant ensure that it is completely dried, you may also run the risk of proliferating mold in the filter. Just my $0.02...
  23. I used 3m dual lock tape and secured the crossovers inside my door. There is a -3db attenuation button on the speaker tweeter itself. I basically made any bass/mid/treble adjustments using the built-in eq. I think I am running them at +4 treb, +3 mid and +4 bass (something like that), Bass response is pretty good and sound reproduction is really good (now some of my lower bitrate iPod songs sound like crap). Does it sound like a subwoofer? No. Much better than stock? Absolutely!
  24. All, Just need some wiring help. I decided to give the VLED switchbacks another go and use the 6ohm resistors (at 25% off today, I couldn't resist). How can I wire up the SB resistors and the Philips DRL on the same wire? Will it make a difference or mess something up? Any ideas as to which turn signal bulb wires to use (I think they are different color wires on the passenger and drivers side turn signal sockets)? Here's how my DRL is integrated now (thanks Cellbine for taking this photo!!!): Just trying to get everything integrated correctly and safety. Thanks!
