  1. Dingo, that is a good idea. I'll look into it and see how much it changes my bi-yearly costs. Being a college student...we'll just have to see. Also very true, Nick. Unfortunately, I became accustomed to thinking my area was relatively crime free, just as Granville is assumed to be, but ever since Denison got robbed of computers during work hours... (joke's on the University though. They know it isn't very secured). Most of it includes TPing and underage parties where I'm from. lol
  2. Ahhhhh, siii. lol. I'm just waiting to be notified that they are caught and are connected to every crime totally more than 30 counts of theft and vandalism and multiple counts of credit card fraud. That will be a grand day.
  3. My friends call me the Hulk. Thieves, man, thieves. You can read the thread in the lounge.
  4. I'm not sure I know what you mean? lol
  5. Thanks, man. I have $605 for glass repair since I have a thousand dollar deductible. Hopefully the clause about "windshield repair" will cover it, but y'all know insurance... **Update on the case: They struck again last night and a house with a forward-facing camera picked up their faces and the cops lifted prints. Of course, that will only help if they have definite suspects or if the thieves have priors. The media picked up on it and are releasing the story today, and officially mentioned it last night, so hopefully their next runs will be dry and people will be on the look out.
  6. I had a security system installed for $250... Then had thieves break my windows and rob me anyway. Check my most recent thread for a video on essentially thief-deterrent film by Ace Security Laminates. That will prevent a break in, and then you'll just have to lock your doors.
  7. I'm sure you can cut through it. Regardless, we've since found evidence that they "pried" the window til it cracked, so they could push it in and not make as much noise. There are dings on each of the panels bordering the glass and the edge of the window next to the ding is totally gone, but the opposite edge is virtually untouched. Obviously they've had some practice. Gonna make sure insurance sees it. Currently, they're saying my deductible is gonna cover it all... I'll get the laminate if it's not too much more to install when I redo the tint, but I can imagine it will be. I do have a garage. On this occasion, I came home to find our 14 year old van parked inside (it usually sits outside), and I was just too hungover to change them. When night rolled, just said "it'll be fine", since I don't think our neighborhood has seen any crime other than TPing and beer raids on garage fridges. Seriously, though, twice in 24 hours. That's gotta be a record of something. **You can actually see the ding in the picture of the passenger window. Looks like a little scrape on the black door panel with a white chip on the inside of that panel.
  8. Well, Friday night, I left my car unlocked as my buddy lives in a less-populated area a little ways back from the road. Car was opened up and stuff thrown about, but nothing was stolen. So last night, my car was one of more than thirty that was broken into in my area in two weeks. It was the first or second time it had sat out over night at my house all summer. Just to give more of a shock, my area is a pretty decent area, suburb of Columbus, with most houses going for at least $300k. I live in a housing development, and eight cars were hit last night. My family caught them as they were breaking into mine. Broke the passenger and rear windows of my car, stole an ipod and GPS. The broke the rear one in an attempt to pull my subsystem out, which wouldn't have fit through the window, but they pulled it out of the screws that were holding it down and ruined the alignment of all the floor panels. As described, the guys are two white males wearing baseball caps, driving a light-colored, late-model minivan with missing hubcaps, 6' 0"+ and looking strong enough to lift quite a bit.. I'm in the Pataskala/Pickerington/Baltimore/Reynoldsburg area, and have heard reports of car break-ins in Dublin. Also, we found a map that we turned into the police of highlighted areas on a map of Franklin County that essentially outlined more affluent areas just off of I-270. They have since used multiple credit cards of a neighbor of mine. I have a Viper 5904, and have contemplated adding the glass microphone and some Ace Security Laminate. If you're unfamiliar with the product, watch this video. http://youtu.be/yMNYXhRDqO0 Take care, all, and be safe.
  9. When I bought mine used, it came with an additional warranty that I believe to be an additional 3 yr/30k mile powertrain, which give me a 7yr/100k mile warranty altogether. I opted out of the $6k 2 year electronics warranty....seemed a bit steep to me.
  10. I'll have to do that next time. Then it will fit with my sub in the back.
  11. I'm interested in your G35. My buddy owns and mods his. It won't be flamed if it's in the "other ride" thread. lol
  12. I can't imagine it would look well. It would only appear factory if you swapped out the whole front bumper, lights and all.
  13. Ahh, well perfect. We need transition plastic for our headlights.
  14. I'd adjust your input sen. accordingly now and just keep your volume low, or vice versa. There's no quantitative break-in period, but if you don't push it some, how is it supposed to break into anything? lol
  15. Your input sensitivity (or is there a "gain" knob?) is what you'll adjust to raise the "gain" and get it to slam as much as it can without clipping. Forget about "boost".
  16. That's absolutely heartbreaking! My heart actually dropped just reading the story, and the pictures did me over. So sorry to hear what happened, but I wish you the best of luck bringing the asshole that killed him to justice. Hope the others, including yourself, live out safe lives. Best wishes.
  17. Wooooh! A first gen! Welcome! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
  18. Here's some pictures. It needs some touch up, which I guess means another coat, but it looks good! Has kind of a blue hue (not sure how that came about), but I like it. Have had a few compliments already on it, and my dad would like me to gloss black PD his grille on his Taurus.
  19. Chris, that is where I learned everything from. Cellbine, it's currently closed up in the garage since it's storming outside, but I'll definitely be taking more when I take her our next. Hopefully when it's sunny so you can see the shine. My garage has horrible lighting, so I had to shoot it from the side to get any light on it at all.
  20. I'm extremely happy with the way this turned out. Actually matches the stock machined wheels' color on the Maxima to the left. I accidentally left the grille's support untaped, but I think it turned out nice regardless. I left the emblem and the first chrome ring around it alone. Now I gotta do the fog light housings.
  21. So am I. The black I think looked well, but being that I have such bright chrome in the headlight housings, I didn't think it would look too good, so I wanted a more grayish color. I'll be finished within an hour.
  22. Any chance your amp will fit into a section of the foam that's under the floor? Cut out a littler piece so it's recessed in the foam?
  23. After a sixth coat of black and one thick coat of pearlizer. I'm going to let this dry and see if I want to add a second pearlizer or just gloss it. I did like the matte black look, but I can always go back and do it again.
