  1. Plasti-Dip and Glossifier! I've thought of tinting my tails, but I have two family members that are local law enforcement who told me that if someone rear-ends you and you have your tails tinted, you can be cited with fault for the accident, so I'm not going to go that route. I've been thinking intake and exhaust, but I don't think I'm going to upgrade the performance on this car. Maybe swap out the mufflers and res. delete for the growl. I am however, trying to tone down the chrome by tinting it with smoke PD.
  2. I like that you kept it chrome. Helps break it up a lot. Unless you're going for the murdered look.
  3. Welcome! Love having more first gens around. Looks like you got the front tint already. Try some HID headlights. The stock ones were my first peeve I developed after buying the car. Looks like we have the same model, only I have the BAMR (Big Ass Moon Roof).

    hi

Wanna buy mine? I want some new ones. lol Of course, I'd have to order and get mine tired up before I could ship them. Anyway, welcome! Hope you enjoy the edge and maybe your lurking will give you the mod bug. There are a few things that just make the car so much better.
  5. Welcome fellow first gen'er! Start with the basics around here. Tint, HID headlights (because ours suck), and LEDs on the inside. Then maybe try Plasti-Dip and any performance mods. A little tint and some whiter, brighter head lights turns our cars into one good-looking, not-so-soccer-mom vehicle.
  6. Plasti-Dip also has a glossifier to use with the matte paint to achieve a gloss look. Check out some of Cellbine's reviews on it. I'm pretty positive I remember hearing that it holds up well in car washes and winter, doesn't chip, and doesn't come off until you take it off. Check out the "DipYourCar" youtube videos. *I'm planning on doing my grille, headlights, and roof with black and glossifier and then covering the hood, mirrors, bottom of the doors, and bumper with plain glossifier to achieve a sort of rock shield for the places I have lots of road rash on. After using Dr. ColorChip of course.
  7. I don't have mine lowered, but I'm pretty sure most would say they are satisfied. Ride quality is a little harsher and stiffer as well as providing a much better visual appeal.
  8. They look good! I'm not a fan of the five-spokes on our cars, but you pulled it off.
  9. Ahhh. Thanks. I just assumed it was paint since it was the same color. I knew the black and off-colored things were impurities, but wasn't sure about the blue.
  10. Dang... if it is, I get exactly what you're getting without pulling anything on long trips with no AC. Oh the life of a 2nd gen owner.

    MPG ?????

...my 3.5 gets 350-400 depending on what kind of gas I put in and how much I add after the pump kicks off...
  12. The transition from the Iron-X coat to the Mothers clay kit was amazing. It was a somewhat rough feeling with a slight haze to a smooth, crystal shine. Something I did notice about to clay, which I didn't know if it was normal or not, is that it began picking up the color of my car. Then I began to apply the turtle wax. Went on well, came off easy. I'm really pleased with the results. ...oh, and then look what I had never picked up on before. Apparently, the previous owner never pointed it out to the dealer, but the factory missed some clear coat! I hope to apply the Dr. ColorChip a little later today, and I'll do the paint defender a little later in the week.
  13. I have Turtle Wax, and after I apply that, I'll be putting Dr. ColorChip on, then 3M's paint defender on the front bumper and the hood. I also have Plasti-Dip Glossifier to put on other segments that won't get covered by the paint defender. If I could do it over again, I'd just do a gallon of glossifier.
  14. I'm twenty minutes east of Columbus. Saw the 7-day forecast with 0% chance of rain all week and decided I needed to get this done before that changed.
  15. This will be the first time I have waxed any vehicle. I have the car for a year and I figured it needed to be done. Stopped by the local Advanced Auto Parts, along with a couple things from Amazon, I got to work this morning. Started it with a wash using Dawn. Dried it with a Shammy, sprayed on some Iron-X. Man, that shit smells. The picture is post-wiping. And after rinsing off the Iron-X and wiping down the water spots after the air and a second Shammy dried the water for me. I'll be continuing the detail later. Up next: Clay, Wax, and some window cleaner.
  16. And the wishlist only continues to grow...
  17. She's a beaut. Quite aggressive looking, I might add.
  18. Yeah. You can find him on fb and instagram through the company: Dynamikillu51ons
  19. Quiet, yes. Unresponsive, no. In comparison to other forums I've been on, this forum has the least amount of bullshit and stupidity. lol Hope you find what you're looking for in an Edge!
  20. I've fit four. Like stated, the clubs have to be angled (corner to corner), but they fit.
  21. I open it every nice day but usually close it before I leave the car since it'd be so easy to climb up and slip in the car that way. lol Why not just wait til it stops and then diagnose the issue. Degrease, re-grease, and if that doesn't work, talk to Ford.
  22. My BAMR closes relatively easily, just slow the last few inches, and chugs during the winter. It hasn't failed yet, though, so I'm not worried about it.
  23. I really like the all black roof. It flows pretty well, it seems. Might be doing that to mine.
