No issues with the fuel tank though I hope!

I always went with OEM, most aftermarket warranties can be kind of iffy, at least with Eastern & Walker. I'd be ok with Magnaflow though. Hope your state does not require CARB compliance, might have to stick with OEM.

Luckily this is the radiator-side bank, the "easy" one. How long ago did you change the PCM and coil(s)? No other codes since then?

Question for those with LMS (Livernois) tune
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to bmwta's topic in 2.7L EcoBoost
You should always revert to stock (tune/MAP sensor/etc) prior to a dealer visit, you never know when they will flash the PCM. So check the strategy code before and after. If the strategy code has changed, notify your tuner and they will send out (or provide access to on a server, as with Livernois) updated tunes (usually free). A tune is the proper way to address a modern vehicle's performance capabilities. -
If similar to 2007-10, should be on driver side of console, pull back carpeting to reveal. Here's a post related to that: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/8307-hissing-noise-when-ac-is-on-and-im-turning-left/?do=findComment&comment=151698 Any particular issue that prompted this question? If you run the AC for a while and it does not afterwards drip water onto the ground underneath the vehicle (most visible while stationary), that is a situation that likely needs correcting.

Restraints Control Module (RCM) WARNING: Do not handle, move or change the original horizontal mounting position of the restraints control module (RCM) while the RCM is connected and the ignition switch is ON. Failure to follow these instructions may result in the accidental deployment of the safety canopy and risk of serious personal injury. WARNING: The restraints control module (RCM) orientation is critical for correct system operation. If a vehicle equipped with an air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) has been involved in a collision in which the center tunnel area has been damaged, inspect the mounting and bracket for deformation. If damaged, a new RCM must be installed whether or not the air bags have deployed. In addition, make sure the area of the RCM mounting is restored to its original condition. Failure to follow these instructions may increase the risk of serious personal injury or death in a collision. CAUTION: Prior to removal of the restraints control module (RCM) module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the scan tool. This information needs to be downloaded into the new RCM module once installed. Refer to Section 418-01. NOTE: When installing a new restraints control module (RCM), always make sure the correct RCM is being installed. If an incorrect RCM is installed, erroneous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) will result. The restraints control module (RCM) carries out the following functions: deploys the air bag(s)/safety canopies in the event of a deployable collision. activates the safety belt buckle pretensioners to remove slack from the safety belt in the event of a deployable collision. monitors the supplemental restraint system (SRS) for faults. sends a message to the instrument cluster module to illuminate the air bag warning indicator if a fault is detected. communicates through the data link connector (DLC) the current or historical diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). The RCM monitors the SRS for possible faults. If a fault is detected, the RCM will request illumination of the air bag warning indicator. When the ignition is cycled (turned OFF and then ON), the instrument cluster will prove out the air bag warning indicator by lighting for 6 seconds and then off. If a current SRS fault exists, the RCM requests illumination of the air bag warning indicator and will remain illuminated for the rest of the key cycle. During that same key cycle some faults that recover, i.e. Loss of Communication with the PCM, the RCM will send a request to the instrument cluster module to turn the air bag warning indicator off IF no other fault is present. The RCM will also communicate the on-demand (current) and continuous (historical) DTCs through the DLC, to the scan tool. If the RCM requests illumination of the air bag warning indicator and the air bag warning indicator does not function, the instrument cluster module will automatically activate an audible chime. The chime is a series of 5 sets of 5 tone bursts. If the chime is heard, the SRS and the air bag warning indicator require repair. The RCM includes a backup power supply. This feature provides sufficient backup power to deploy the SRS in the event that the ignition circuit is lost or damaged during a collision. The backup power supply will deplete its stored energy approximately one minute after the battery ground cable is disconnected. Pinpoint Test G: DTC B2292 — Restraint System — Seatbelt Pretensioner Fault Refer to Wiring Diagrams Cell 46 , Supplemental Restraint System for schematic and connector information. Normal Operation The restraints control module (RCM) monitors safety belt buckle pretensioner circuits for faults. The RCM will set a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) if a short to battery or short to ground fault is detected. The RCM will also set a DTC if the loop resistance is less than 0.9 ohm or greater than 5 ohms. The normal expected resistance range is 1.23 to 3.31 ohms. If a loop resistance is between 0.9 and 1.23 or between 3.31 and 5 ohms, a DTC will not set but there exists a strong potential for an intermittent fault. If the RCM detects one of the following faults on any of the safety belt buckle pretensioner circuits, it will store DTC B2292 in memory and send a message to the instrument cluster module to illuminate the air bag warning indicator. NOTE: When monitoring fault and/or resistance PIDs with the scan tool, it may take up to 2 seconds for the scan tool display to update. Fault Conditions The RCM monitors for the following fault conditions: Loop resistance less than 0.9 ohm (low resistance) Loop resistance greater than 5 ohms (circuit open) Circuit short to voltage Circuit short to ground Possible Causes A safety belt buckle pretensioner fault can be caused by: damaged wiring, terminals or connectors. a faulty safety belt buckle pretensioner. RCM is faulted. Pinpoint Test J: DTC B2295 — Restraint System — Side Air Bag Fault Refer to Wiring Diagrams Cell 46 , Supplemental Restraint System for schematic and connector information. Normal Operation A side air bag module provides protection of the thorax area (between the neck and abdomen) of the body, working in conjunction with the head protection provided by a safety canopy module. Refer to Air Bag and Safety Belt Pretensioner Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) in this section. The restraints control module (RCM) monitors the side air bag module circuits for faults. If the RCM detects one of the following faults on any of the side air bag circuits, it will store DTC B2295 in memory and send a message to the instrument cluster module to illuminate the air bag warning indicator. Fault Conditions The RCM monitors for the following fault conditions: Loop resistance less than 0.9 ohm (low resistance) Loop resistance greater than 5 ohms (circuit open) Circuit short to voltage Circuit short to ground Possible Causes A side air bag fault can be caused by: damaged wiring, terminals or connectors. a faulted side air bag module. a faulted RCM. 2007 Edge Supplemental Restraint System.pdf

Power liftgate intermittently doesn't open 100%
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to ypodolyan's topic in Exterior & Body
Here's a pic of components Removing the power liftgate rod should be a simple matter of removing the one nut attaching it to the liftgate. Not sure how freely it would move after that to be out of the way for full manual operation test. -
Power liftgate intermittently doesn't open 100%
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to ypodolyan's topic in Exterior & Body
Those words are lifted directly from the manual. My best guess, or what I'd do, is replace the struts, they are relatively inexpensive. You can get them off RockAuto, Amazon, etc. Monroe brand, for example. -
Power liftgate intermittently doesn't open 100%
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to ypodolyan's topic in Exterior & Body
This may be the simplest test: TURN the power liftgate OFF (disable) from the message center and manually operate the liftgate. If mechanical binding does exist, REPAIR as necessary. If it still does not open properly, the struts are likely to be the culprit. Power Liftgate InitializationNOTE: The power liftgate may not operate correctly under the following conditions: A low voltage or dead battery A disconnected battery Repairs/adjustments have been made to the power liftgate rod, power liftgate motor, liftgate hinges or liftgate striker If any of these conditions has occurred, the power liftgate must be reinitialized. NOTE: Battery power must be removed from the Liftgate/Trunk Module (LTM) for 20 seconds before the LTM will enter the initialization mode. Disconnect the battery or remove the LTM fuse(s).Wait 20 seconds and reconnect the battery or reinstall the LTM fuse(s).If liftgate is not already in the fully closed position, manually close and fully latch the power liftgate. NOTE: Make sure the power liftgate system is turned ON in the message center before performing this step. NOTE: If the power liftgate does not open during this step, refer to the Symptom Chart to diagnose the inoperative power liftgate. Power open the power liftgate by using the key fob or control switch.Once the power liftgate is fully open, close the power liftgate by using the key fob or control switch. -

You can attach images as files, click on MORE REPLY OPTIONS to get to the full capabilities of the REPLY box. Best to host on Photobucket/Flickr/imgur etc, then put a direct link back in your post. Maybe replacing the EMTC will fix the issue, worth a try. There is only one actuator though if you have manual climate control (driver side). If you had electronic/auto climate control, they have 2.

Cost for the 2007-14 is currently around $1,400 US out of pocket at the dealership, probably cheaper at service center. The part is priced a couple hundred dollars higher for the 15+, and assuming same amt of labor, you would be looking at $1,600 US or so.

Is the Turbo-charged Engine a Concern?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to lilcharmer214's topic in Owner Impressions
I'm only familiar with the 3.5 TT engines, but I think 2013 was the first year that engine oil coolers were implemented, at least in the Taurus line. 2010-12 had trans fluid coolers but no engine oil coolers. That's why there is now a mod in place to transplant 2013 engine oil coolers (and brake components btw) onto the 2010-12 MY vehicles. Makes a big difference. Still gotta run good oil & filter tho, no getting away from that. A sampling: 2014 Escape 1.6 EB - oil cooler mounted to the block, the filter mounts to the cooler; other engines in this model do not have one 2012-2014 Focus 2.0 EB - ditto 2014 Fusion 1.5 EB, 1.6 EB - ditto; since the MKZ uses the 2.0EB or 3.7 Duratec, it does not have an oil cooler at all 2012+ Fiesta 1.6EB ditto -
Shoulda got an MKX

Congrats!

Is the Turbo-charged Engine a Concern?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to lilcharmer214's topic in Owner Impressions
Ford did go from 5W20 to 5W30 on the 3.5 GTDI V6 and all Ecoboost vehicles, for unknown reasons. Speculation has it that fuel dilution issues were better combatted with the heavier weight oil, thus making it more likely to survive the normal OCI as stated in the OM. -
Try LevittownFordSuperCenter (Benny) on this site, they are great to work with and competitive pricing to boot. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10937-employee-pricing-on-all-parts-accessories/page-13 Also, look on RockAuto (3176826629064514 = discount code, put it in Where Did You Hear About Us box), Amazon, and EBay. Deals crop up from time to time there also. I do prefer to go with Levittown for whatever I can though.

Power liftgate intermittently doesn't open 100%
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to ypodolyan's topic in Exterior & Body
I think you will find these threads of use: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19702-issues/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/3529-liftgate-ding-ding-ding/ Could be needing a simple reinitialization, could be a liftgate actuator. You can have the battery tested at an auto parts store that has a modern digital load tester like the SOLAR BA5 or BA7. If the battery is original to the Edge, I'd replace it anyway. If your Edge did not come with the towing package, you can buy a stronger battery in the size (Group 65) that is installed for the towing package. If you can afford it, an AGM battery like the Odyssey that macbwt installed will work very well, esp with the cold weather you guys get in MN. -
You are doing pretty good, 80% of your plan has materialized! All depends on the dealer, sometimes they will charge the 15-30 min of time it takes, a few will do it for free (courtesy, if you go for maintenance work regularly). They should at least be able to check for you for free. Also, pull codes from the PCM to see if it's telling you anything. Not all codes set check engine lights. If you don't have a reader, auto parts stores like AutoZone, Advance Auto, OReilly's, Pep Boys etc should be able to do it for free, maybe even tell you the most common fix for any codes they do retrieve. TSS/OSS: Do you have access to a lift? Worked with cars before? It's a lengthy procedure, but perfectly doable with patience. You will be draining the trans to get at the sensors, good time to change out the trans fluid also. Best to do both sensors, because a majority of the steps are in common.
