Help - Issue with 2011 Ford Edge - Ford not Helping !!!
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to nafreire's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Nice! Symptoms come in all shapes & sizes, not just what TSBs specify. Good of the dealership to follow through. -
New sub stage set-up after break in
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to wannabang's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Looking good so far! -
The 20" wheel/tire combo is probably heavier than the 18" setup. Less of a sidewall certainly doesn't help with those rough roads. They must have changed the air flow design somehow somewhere, I am glad to not have that exhaust smell issue either! How did you like the interior? I assume the 2012 has the digital gauges/MFT etc?

Welcome & congrats! Did you get an ETA?

I guess they are cracking open the trans since they are replacing the filter/gasket. Hope the issues get fixed first time, and good on them to put you into another Edge as loaner. Now you can compare & report back

Rear brake seized, continuing problems
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to alhope34's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Have you checked fluid levels? Could be a pinhole leak squirting onto the brakes. Is the smell rubber or more brake-fluid-y? -
Look underneath the car. If you see a driveshaft running front to back, you have an AWD.

How To: Remove Front Bumper; 2011-2013 models
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Cellbine's topic in Exterior & Body
Now we need some pics with those babies lit up! I think we should rename your Edge the Intimidator, and Cellbine's the Chameleon- 32 replies

Welcome & congrats! The seats don't look like perforated leather, are they perforated in the Infiniti? That might be the difference in "coolness". I don't think the Edge offers cooled seats (the MKX does), that would have been another way to go for you.

Found a review for you: http://www.planet-9.com/porsche-care-detailing/55730-aztec-hot-rod-hot-water-carpet-extractor-how-review.html This is crossposted on multiple forums. I think if you get a good quality steamer in that price range, you will be better off. Less mess, quicker drying time, etc. Definitely at least PM richy to get his thoughts on this.

Welcome to Edge ownership! I think I have heard mention of only 1 other person in a similar situation, and that was with his dad (http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12051-13-se/). Hopefully he is still on this forum and can help you with your questions. I have not seen any good aftermarket liftgate struts for our vehicles, unfortunately. Redline Tuning does make hood struts, but not liftgate. You could contact them for their insight on this though. Other than suggesting a rubber tipped cane or something of the sort to help with the liftgate, I don't know of a good solution for you at the moment. There are some experienced detailing folks on here that will chime in, but if the trim is plastic/rubber (i.e., not painted), you can use several "pro" level products (after cleaning the trim) to enhance and maintain the shine: CarPro DLux, Duragloss 531, Ultima tire & trim guard, etc. Mother's Back To Black is a decent entry level product, but can't speak to the durability aspect. No idea on the USB drive issue.

Thanks, I will look into it!

Cool! Thanks for the update, and hope it works out for you.

Looks spiffy, Gene! Did you get the overlay or the actual black emblem?
-
Welcome! Plenty of ideas/mods on here, feel free to use, and develop your own! But, you MUST post pix

A fix that stays fixed is a good fix I believe I read somewhere that certain hoses on the Edge are lined with a silvery material that can break down and cause this type of sludge. Maybe that's what happened? :read:

Interior of the vehicle? For smaller jobs, a good starter is the one you can find at Harbor Freight http://www.harborfreight.com/steam-cleaner-kit-8823.html. Watch for the initial spurt of water while it's warming up. If you want heavy duty steamers, you can pick something like this http://www.daimer.com/steam-cleaners/kleenjet-200s.htm. Here you will get "dry" steam, i.e., high quality steam. Use a rag wrapped around the end of the steamer hose to capture any moisture.

Welcome & congrats! I see mod mania has already struck

Interesting observations. Thank you, will experiment some myself.

Good luck, let us know how it works out for you. -
Welcome & congrats! That's one sweet-lookin' ride! Enough threads on here about upgrading to HID (if you want), so no worries

Chalk it up to Ford's weirdness with MPG measurements? Hopefully you will get a better feel for it by the next fillup.
-
Nice tabulation. Are you running regular or premium?

Could be that engine parts like the throttle body spacer are simply renumbered for the Fusion. On the Ford site, the throttle body diagram, for example, looks identical and is priced identically between the Edge and Fusion. Suspension components I don't think we'd get so lucky. MAYBE the adjustable parts like the camber ball joints. Coilovers like those from Megan Racing (they make them for the Flex now, may have for the SHO as well, both in the Edge's weight class) would likely be the real performance gainers. Only way to know for sure is to get a hold of someone with parts catalog access & experience so we can get factory specs for comparison so we can start cannibalizing parts .

Welcome & congratulations, nice looking ride! Good looking wheels too!
