In regards to the Entertainment Screen. Would like to see the "Alert" box removed or moved and more room for song titles. I would find this way more useful. I also agree with ELation in that the fan speed and song titles need to return to those corner locations also.

There have been threads on this topic before as it is a known issue with Ford driver seats for years. My 91 and 99 Explorers did this as well as my 08 and 11 Edge's. The dealer does the same thing in my case. It has to do with the chepaness of the seat frame. Nonetheless it is not a good feeling in the seat of your pants. The fix may or may not work as they will just use an identical seat frame replacement or may just tighten some bolts. The problem is really more common than you think though. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Wheezer and mv-clear. I took your advise. Programmed in a local destination then went there and then cleared it. The system once again works just as intended. You were right, the system just needed a kick start. The home screen now displays the street name again. Very greatful for the advise. Another MFT learning moment. BTW I also discussed this with a syncmyride.com a tech person a few days earlier who advised me to bring it in for service. Thanks again!

I have the newest version on my 11 Limited. When on the home screen, the navigation will only display the compass and stopped displaying the street name. It will still display the street name when on the red entertainment screen in the upper right corner. I tried a master reset, repaired the phone and toggled many times between screen and nav settings. I also removed and reinserted the nav card a few times. Anyone else with this isse and how did you solve it?

If it is out of warranty and the dealer is unable to find a fix. You might want to try a local reputable shop that installs interiors and or sunroofs. They work on that stuff all the time.

I also have an 11 Edge build date Jan.11. Dealer did my update but didn't have to and did not replace the APIM module. When they were done, I had a similar problem with my navigation and my phone as well. I did a master reset with the nav card removed and cleaned out my phone text messages and also re-booted the phone by removing the battery and re-stalling it. The system seemed to go into a long re-set mode but finally straightened itself out. Please make sure the nav card sets itself firmly when you reinstall it. It sounds like your issues may be more involved. Good luck.

I agree with the voice commands. Just the way you pronouce the word "yes" can really throw this thing off altogether. Never had the issue before.

I noticed that my newly updated MFT has stopped downloading from Google maps or Mapquest. just all of a sudden. I would only get a continuous beeping sound and no download. I did a master reset and repaired my phone. Voila, now downloading again but lost all my previous downloads.. Everyday seems to bring a new adventure when it comes to MFT. Hope this helps if anyone else had similar issues.

Had the new version done Tuesday by the dealer. The nav screens and graphics are better with updates properly applied to the maps. The entertainment screen is nice but seems a little compressed or distorted in apprearance. I also noticed that the only way to find out what mode the climate control system is in is to actually engage the climate control main screen. The mode otherwise does not display in the bottom right as before, only shows the temp.

Dealer upgraded mine today. I was just in for an oil change and they told me they got the new program today and offered the install while I waited. It took about an hour or so. Seems nice so far but time will tell. Haven't had the opportunity to test the text messaging function yet. Nav graphics are indeed nicer and the map is nicely updated.

This is an easy one. 1. Vented seats with improved / stronger frames. 2. Headlight on indicator in the dash. 3.Real door pulls (the ones you can put your fingers in) like the previous generation Edge. 4.Glove box light. 5. Someplace to put anything that is convenient and not behind the dash. No storage areas for little things. 6.Body side moldings. 7. Turn signal mirrors to retrofit for 2011 models. 8.Self dimming outside mirrors (both sides). Yep - that's pretty much it.

Me too. My 2011 Edge LImited driver seat is starting to rock. I also had the exact same problem with my 08 Edge Ltd., 99 Explorer Eddie Bauer and 91 Explorer XLT. Bad design that appearantly never got corrected.

I have also noticed a trend with my v2.11 and of course am not happy. If the new upgrade doesnt fix these things I am seriously considering another vehicle. 1. The phone disconnects itself once a week. Not being able to re-pair the system to the phone I have to delete and then re-pair using the sync code etc.. Consistently happens. 2. Changing stations from the steering wheel becomes impossible once a week. I then have to master reset the system. Sometimes this works and sometimes not. 3. I also notice about once a week that the screen incorporates icons for the CD player when the Sirius or regular radio is on. The play, fast forward and rewind icons right in the middle of the screen. Master reset done due to #2 but then this problem will still exist. Turning the car off overnight seems to work. Also with this problem, the text messaging stops working too having regained its function in the morning. I refuse to pull any fuses or disconnect any battery cables. A $44,000 car !! No way. Gotta have faith right?

Text messaging was working fine on v2.4 then MFT decided not to work anymore. Got the system updated to v2.11 by the dealer and the phone was re-paired at that time. My first couple of text messages came through but not since then. Frustrating for sure, I don't have the time for this nonsense. I would still sell it back if they offered. Anyone else with this problem? Any suggestions?

I am still running v2.4. Although it has clock issues I can say that I have never gotten this black screen of death. The system will reboot itself but not that often enough that I can remember. All other systems work properly and after reading the many posts of disappointment, I have decided to stay with the v2.4. I am waiting for the so called re-write and or permanent fix. Unless something happens between now and then. My advice, if its not broke then don't fix it and wear a watch (lol).

I use the keypad everyday. Never carry the fob on me. Instead I leave it in the car, lock it with the keypad and then when I come back just open the door with the keypad and then push the start button then off I go. Feel good knowing that the car will not start unless I enter the code. I leave the fob in the car everyday. Embrace the keypad...

I have them. They are white light that turns on when either front door opens, not related to the ambient lighting which can change colors. I really like them but honestly no one has ever noticed them but me as they really aren't that bright or prominent. The word EDGE spells out from either the inside or outside. I would get them again.

I was disappointed that the maps were really outdated especially here in the OH/PA area. I-376 still shows up as Route 60 and the exits are all incorrect as well. When sending a map from either Mapquest of Google maps - the route you planned and sent to your system are not the same. Only the destination is true, disappointing since as most of us know that nav systems don't always use the best routes. Would I buy it again? No choice as it was bundled with the 301 package, if I had the choice, I would stick with my old Garmin.

The issues are many. If you have time just review the many posts on this forum. Make sure that your car is fully updated with V 2.11 before you accept it. No exceptions. But for the record the MFT is known for frequent re-boots, black or blue screens that won't turn off, unresponsive touch screen, loss of Sirius signal and wrong channels displaying, clock displays wrong time, navigation is clueless and outdated, frequent lock-ups, BLIS system with frequent false alarms, poor voice command response, text to voice feature only works with a select few phones so please get an up to date list from your cell carrier. Others as well but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. BTW mine was assembled 1/24/11 with v 2.4. I hope to have it updated with my next oil change.

Can't remember exactly what I paid but it was invoice minus all rebates and I know that there was more than one. It was around President's Day and I got auto show discount as well as Red Carpet lease return rebate and the regular rebate at that time. All total was $3000 at that time so I guess my answer is yes you can get all rebates that you are eligible for. Good luck.

Verizon only lists one phone with text to speech and it is the LG Cosmos. I have the LG Cosmos - text to speech with the sync system actually reading incoming text messaging worked on the first attempt and has not since then. Is a master reset in order or is the phone just bad? My first phone was Motorola V9m Razr and it did not support text to speech technology and I did delete this phone before syncing up the LG Cosmos..

If those changes happen then there might be some hope & I would be first in line at my dealer to get the improvements installed. It's interesting that you said Garmin navigation. On my recent trip, i turned off the factory nav and turned on my old faithful Garmin & it was flawless. I wanted to love the factory system but after 5 months of continuous use, it always disappoints, failing to find just about any address accureately & with ambiguous routing no matter how I set the system. Even if I send custom routed maps from google maps or mapquest>> it doesn't matter, the system reverts to a system default routing you in a rediculous way. The maps are outdated especially here in OH/PA. Though the interstate system had changed PA 60 to I-376 a while ago, my factory nav with build date of 1/24/11 is still outdated with old exit numbers. As I said I would welcome these changes but for now I just dont even trust that v2.8 would be the aggrivation either. Still would sell it back as beautiful as it looks and drives.

Just spent the day driving about 600 miles. 2 Sync reboots while the car was in motion, a clock that was right only half of the time. A navigation system that is clueless and outdated. Built 1/24/11 V2.4. Please take it back..

It's all about expectations. Today we expect our cars and trucks to be trouble free and are willing to accept nothing less. My 08 Edge Ltd' never had one single service call. Just maintenance, I got rid of it because it was a lease. Literally the best car I ever owned. My '11 Edge Ltd. with a build date of 1/24/11 is beautiful indeed. The issue is like so many others have said is the MFT. Though well intentioned, the system is just not ready for prime time. I used to think that maybe these were just isolated incidents. My Edge was delivered in February, no MFT issues for the first few months. Then it started - MFT rebooting a lot, wrong clock, bad phone integration, slow USB music recognition, false Bliss alarms. All electrical and all annoying. No headlight on indicator, no place to put anything in the interior (no flat spaces). Just disappointed and I would sell it back in a heartbeat, I am 100% sure of this.
