  1. My 2011 Limited is Kona Blue, it is a darker blue and is the same as on the Mustang. After the 2011 model year they went with the deep impact blue.
  2. How about the new ones on the assembly line? Has there been a change in design?
  3. Many 2011's have this problem also. I had it fixed under the extended warranty. Cost $100 deductible. Its a shame, this part should last the life of the car.
  4. I currently have them on my 11 Kona Blue and had them on my 08 ink blue Edges. Love them, perfect match.
  5. Yes that's exactly what I mean. Turning the system off just when in a situation such as getting stuck in a high snow drift.
  6. I have owned both an 08 and 11 AWD Edge models. Before that several 4WD Explorers with never any problem in the snow. This past winter seemed especially snowy here in the northeast. For the first time ever, I ended up being stuck in the snow, the AWD system just wasn't able to overcome the mounting snow. All things being equal, I have never outfitted any of my vehicles with snow tires. The engine would rev up but seems like I could not get the tires to move. During a recent trip to the dealer for routine service, I had mentioned this to the service advisor. Her advise seemed so simple. She said to just disable the traction control and all 4 wheels would turn and drive the vehicle out of the snow. My question is Could this be true? Could disabling the traction control permit both front and rear drive wheels to spin freely? Would this be sort of like a AWD Locking mode?
  7. Does anyone know the ground clearance for the 2015 Edge? I dont know if it makes a difference but specifically AWD Titanium or SEL. Thank you.
  8. When a door cannot close properly I would think it is a safety issue and should be corrected imediately. Mine happened with just over 36k mi. Luckily I had the extended warranty and cost was $100 deductable. But as I learned later, this is a design issue and not an isolated incident. When this happens, you have to get it repaired right away. To me, that's how I know its a safety issue.
  9. Why isnt the cognac interior available with all exterior colors? I think it would look nice with the deep impact blue or ruby red. Why cant a customer special order these combinations? Its a matter of taste.
  10. The AutoGuide review spoke about the new/improved AWD system being able to switch 100% of the power from front to rear and even side to side. I don't see anything about this in the Ford literature. Is this true? Can someone elaborate?
  11. I know I would rather have a normally aspirated engine for longevity and probably my peace of mind. I drive 20K miles a year. I am assuming the EB engines are fine with 87 octane and will deliver full MPG and HP numbers. I cant imagine how much it costs to replace any parts of the EB system?
  12. Thank you cab2g. That answers my questions. A much improved change for the cargo cover which now looks to be retractable.
  13. Does anyone know if the cargo cover for the 2015 is retractable or the same as the previous model with the rubber bands and hooks?
  14. The question then becomes. Do you want to get something that has been around for years and is probably as good as its going to get. OR, do you want to take your chance on the new operating system?? I don't know what to trust. When I think of the countless updates, black screen or deaths, quirkiness of the ambient lighting and stereo functions. Its just too much to ponder but good luck, I would wait as long as you could to see how the new system operates.
  15. Get in line. Sooner or later well you know the rest. I was lucky to have the extended warranty cost $100 deductible. Happened with 37K miles. Good luck but get it fixed properly or you may be stranded somewhere.
  16. I wanted the Limited for the beltline chrome, Sony stereo and rest of the 301A pkg like HID headlights.
  17. Mine ended up being a remote that quit working even after a new battery was installed. Replaced under extended warranty for the $100 deductible. The dealer took an hour or so to program it. So far so good.
  18. Akirby, are they just doing a build-out for the Lincoln to clear the parts from the system and keep the line going? Can the 15 Edge and MXK be build simultaneously on that Oakville line? Seems like the 15 Lincoln will only be built until the Edge gets started.
  19. Mine was repaired under the extended warranty. Cost $100+tax. They removed and cleand the mechanism. So far so good. I have never had anything like this happen before, disappointed.
  20. Many issues with Ford seats - the drivers seats have been known to rock a little back and forth. Getting back to this issue, I have the same issue with my back seat. The dealer looked at it and said it was an old empty soda can that got stuck back there and removed it. Soon as I pulled out of the lot I immediately heard it again. So much for the rattling soda can issue. I had someone else drive the car while I was back there on the floor - NO RATTLE. I had my daughter who is much smaller than me also go back there and kneel on the floor while in motion - NO RATTLE. Its something I hear everyday. I dont have time for these annoyances, Sad to say that I will let the next owner deal with it.
  21. I have started to get this problem with my 2011. I always keep one fob in the the car and use my keyless pad to enter and then just push the start button. Now I started to get this message so I changed the fobs, took the spare and put the unused original in the car. Still says no key detected. I push the unlock and lock buttons several times and then luckily it starts. I think my luck will run out soon. Will try to change out both fob batteries. Does anyone else think it may be anything else?
  22. Thank you for that information. Yes that's what it looks like.
  23. What about the cargo cover. Will it be a nice new retractible type or the old rubber band and hook system that is still in my closet?
  24. I think the new interior color is called cognac and sadly its not available with all exterior colors. Customers should be able to choose especially for special orders. I would also hope to see an actual cargo area cover that is substantial and retractable getting rid of the rubber bands and hooks.
  25. The door ajar/door latch and the moonroof mechanism.
