I also had the brake booster problem with my 2011 Edge. It was intermittent until 37,000 miles then the stiff brake pedal was consistent. The dealer properly repaired it and then about a week later I got the notice in the mail that Ford would cover this repair. At the time, I was lucky enough to have the Ford extended warranty and was only liable for the $100 deductible + tax (7%). After notifying the dealer a couple of months ago, I am still waiting for my refund. Even re-notified them - still waiting for my $107.

This just started on my 11 Ltd with 44k mi & I dont appreciate it at all. This should never happen. I think I will try the brake cleaner until I can find time and take time off from work just to get this fixed. Such a well maintained vehicle yet so frustrating.

My 2011 Edge ltd AWD with the 3.5 v6 with 43k miles has begun to use about a quart of oil every 1000 miles. No leaks of smoke. Anyone else having this problem or is there a TSB I can bring to the dealer while the powertrain warranty is still in effect. Thank you.

This is exactly why I used to be a subscriber. Too much import obvious bias.

I had no problems with uploading from Mapquest until I upgraded from 3.5 to the current version of 3.6 and the dealer replaced the APIM. Now it never uploads. Also the ambient lighting stays on despite turning it off.

Just for the record. The Forester is assembled in Japan and the Edge is assembled in Canada. I have an Edge, decided to keep it closer to home.

I can only tell you that my 2011 Edge Ltd pretty much ran beautifully during the 3/36k mile warranty period. No kidding, as soon as I crossed the 36K I have a brake booster malfunction. My ESP Premium care 7yr/100k warranty approved the repair minus the $100 deductible.

It's a great looking vehicle and I like it. Glad to see they kept the fuel filler on the driver's side. Now I would hope for cooled seats a sliding armrest and a Top Pick + crash result. Then I would buy one in the middle of the second year of production (learned my lesson several times).

I just installed a Fram I bought from Wal Mart. Fits great.

I reported this problem with 33k miles on my 11 Ltd. The problem waxed and waned. I never reported it to the dealer because it seemed to resolve itself. Now, several months later, the problem is back and I had no problem replicating it to the dealer. Took it in today and the dealer said it was the brake booster and ordered a new one. I do have the extended warranty but will cost me $100 deductible. Lesson learned (again).

I am having the same issue. Ambient lighting comes back on every time. Also unable to download maps from mapquest. These happened after getting the update and a new APIM module. Both are annoyances and happened after the update to v3.6.2.

Still can't download from mapquest.com. Had no problem with this on v3.5.

Recently had a total system failure on my 11 Ltd w/nav while I was out of town on vacation. It had v. 3.5. The radio, phone and most imprtantly the nav were all dead. The black screen of death for about 4 hours. It finally did reboot itself afterwards and worked just fine. I reported this to the dealer, they insisted on installing v 3.6.2. Also the APIM module failed when they tried to update the softward causing an overnight stay. First thing I noticed with v.3.6.2 was that the clock was off by 2 hrs, I reset it and so far so good. Second thing was that I have tried to download address' using Mapquest on twice, both failed. The system connects to Sync services, prompts for the download, makes strange sounds through the speakers and then disconnects after about 90 seconds. I probably should have left well enough alone. Lesson learned for me here, carry a spare GPS in the console. What a shame. Anyone else having the issue downloading from Mapquest? It was a function I really used a lot and miss it.

Do not buy the ford cover. It attaches with rubber bands and does not retract. I have been looking since 2008 and have not been able to find one that fits.

The 3,5 update seems to be working for me. Now I am unable to use Mapquest for sending maps to my navi. When I hit the send button, nothing gets sent but the wheel on the screen spins forever.

Try looking at Detroitwheelandtire.com. They seem to have a large inventory. Good luck.

normcloutier - this is exactly what is happening to me. My concern is that the feel of the brake pedal changed so much in one day. I will get it in to the dealer this week. Very concerning until I find out otherwise.

Started having a problem with my 11 Edge Ltd AWD with 33k miles. I have had no braking problems at all. Now, when I go to start on the brake to start the engine, the pedal is noticeably stiff. I have to apply way more than just a touch disengage the engine/brake interlock. Before this started happening, all I had to do was tap the brake pedal and hit the start button. Now I have to press down forceably on the brake pedal. I don't really notice any issues after the engine starts but am worried it is a bigger issue. The warranty is close to expiring. Anyone with similar issues? Would appreciate any information.

IMO CR has always had a obvious preference for the imports. I stopped my subscripton a year ago.

It must be a temporary glitch. I have never seen this happen before. I would use mapquest instead until google maps gets this straightened out.

2011 Edge Ltd. My keyless entry pad fell off the door today. Hanging by the connector. Anyone else having this issue?

I just want the text message reading to be working all the time. If I get 25% now I am lucky. Happy with everything else though.

The possibilities are many. I had a metallic type rattling coming from somewhere in back of the drivers seat. Its really hard to tell in a moving car. I had someone else drive the car and I got in the cargo area as I was most familiar with the sound. Turned out to be a loose license plate, honestly. I would suggest you get back there with someone else driving and try to narrow down the area with your own ears. Listen carefully and keep an open mind. Good luck..
