Just curious. I know that as time goes by, my 2011 Edge with MFT seems to be more troublesome as time goes on. All those MFT issues you read about are really true. Mine was built in Jan. 2011. I am so disappointed, everyday brings a new adventure. This is my second Edge and I am thinking about trading it in but know that no one will want it with the well publicized issues with the MFT. Would I sell it back to Ford if they offered me what I paid. A no brainer- back it goes. What would you do??

For the plastic trim - I would try some WD-40. Spray it on a clean cloth and wipe it over the plastic.

Any advice would be appreciated. My sunroof windscreen is visibly spotted with dead insects. I guess that means it's going it's work but it really looks bad and several people even commented on it to me. I am thinking of using Windex and a cloth. Anyone have experience with this seemingly delicate piece of cloth??

I would call Sport Wing during business hours and see if they can help you. Even though it is not on their webpage, they may be able to make a molding for you or at least give you some advice. Nothing to loose?

While there is no true passive locking for the Edge. You can just leave the fob in the console. When you exit the car just lock it using the exterior keypad on the driver's door. When you return, open with the keypad and just push the start button. Even if someone were to break in and try to start it, they can't unless the code is entered into the keypad first. I just use the keypad anymore. Seems easier to me and I don't have to carry that bulky fob.

Yes I do have a problem with my clock about once or twice a week. The clock resets itself to an incorrect time. I find myself correcting it manually until the next occurrance. Mine was build late in January with v2.4 from the factory. I don't want to take it back for fear something else will be effected. Waiting until first oil change and will have them address it then. I can only hope the fix is simple.

Mine was build at the end of January with V2.4 factory installed. I recently noticed the clock would be incorrect usually displaying 11:56am no matter what time it was.. This has happened 4 times already. The first 3 times it corrected itself after shutting the system down, the last time required a manual correction by me. Now I am starting to worry. Is this the beginning of what is many more problems to come? I am almost afraid to let them work on it in fear of the dealer causing more harm to an otherwise great system.

Oh definitely yes. The rocking sensation you feel is deemed normal for Fords. Both of my Explorers 91 and 99 as well as by 2008 Edge had this issue. I live in a hilly region, coming to a complete stop at the bottom of the hill, I would always feel the rocking. I had all of them looked at and there was no structural issue found. Of course being chubby doesn't help as well. If you feel uncomfortable though have the dealer look at it and have it noted in the vehicle's service record. I am waiting for my 2011 Edge to do the same thing as I don't think seat track design changes.

I hate to tell you this but that is indeed the factory cargo cover. The design has been the same, I had this as a factory accessory on my 2008 Edge. I was expecting a soft retractable type of cargo cover like those used on so many other vehicles. I understand your disappointment and dismay as do so many other MKX and Edge owners. The 3 large rubber bands that attach to he rear headrests and then the little clear plastic retainers near the tailgate to keep the whole thing aloft. I thought it was a joke. They say that the reason that a retractable or any other better type of cargo cover cannot be made is because the rear seats have a reclining feature that prevents this. I have never seen an after market version either. In the end, I just folded mine up and put in a closet. Needless to say I did not order it on my 2011 Edge. Though this looks somewhat good in the limited view picture proveded, in reality it is a huge disappointment. Good luck with your new Lincoln.

I can only tell you about my experience here. My dealer said he did have allocation when I asked. Ordered 12/30/10 - arrived in 35 days. Kona blue/black Limited w AWD, 301 pkg, towing, BLIS, illuminated sills. rubber mats. Invoice minus rebates + doc fee $75.00. I was a returning lease and now decided to buy. Good luck but to tell you the truth the process was pretty easy.

I don't know where you live but if I were you, I would then look into your Lemon Laws or contact Ford to possibly arrange some sort of goodwill buyback. If you decide to envoke te lemon laws keep very careful and specific records. Follow the directions exactly to the letter. Your video was great. What I saw was rediculous.

Mine was ordered 12/30/10. Accepted by the factory 1/17/11, build about 1/24/11. Arrived here in Ohio 2/2/11. Dealer told me he had allottment when I ordered.

Your right its a great feature. Now if I can only get those signals to light up my outside mirrors as well. Wonder if the new Explorer LED mirror will fit on the Edge. I think it is a great safety feature.

Ordered my Edge ltd AWD with 301, trailer tow, rubber mats. BLIS and lighted sills on 12/30/10. Produced this week waiting for shipping. Actually shorter time than I expected.

I really like the looks and functionality of the turn LED turn signal exterior mirrors on the 2011 Explorer and want to get a set like these for my 2011 Edge Limited with BLIS. I know the Explorer also has the BLIS available. Seems like it should work and look good. Does anyone have any knowledge. Would it even be feasible? I would like to think so.

I am pretty sure that "memory power driver seat" is also one of those things you cannot get on the SEL. It doesn't sound like something you might want but now that I have it...... You know what I mean. Mine is due for production the week of Jan. 24th.

This happened to me on my 08 Ltd. Dealer updated the sync including 911 assist for free. When I got it back I too had noticed that my phone needed to be re-paired . As I remember I did have to re-boot or reset the system, it was easy & I think the directions should be in your owners manual if not call a salesperson. All I know is that after this was done the system works flawlessly. Good luck.

My concern is that like it or not. CR recommendations carry a lot of weight and their opinions are important to most. Their words lasts a long time. I know that used car buyers in particular, really hinge their decisions on CR recommendations. Their yearly report books are bible to many. Selling a used vehicle that is "not recommended" takes away not only the value but the ability to sell the vehicle in the future. That is what I am most concerned about.

This article really devastated me. I ordered a new Edge just before the New Year and when I read this was really not a happy camper. I am thinking of cancelling the order. I am concerned about resale and reliability of the new MFT.

This is a major defect. Before I order, I think we need to hear from those who have had the updated software installed. The "fix" so to speak had better be spot on. My 08 Ltd AWD has never been in for even one service repair. Only oil changes for the past 40K miles. Now its end of lease time and I don't want a vehicle that has to be repaired for what appears to be a faulty design. The my touch seems like a good idea on paper but they either have to make it work or nix it.
