  1. See this white arm? That's the mechanism that gets pushed up when you close the door. That works fine going up ams down but the actual circuit seems to be the culprit. I can push it up and down with a pen and it glides smoothly. When you pushed it all the way up, you hear a click in the center console. Meaning it is sending the signal that the door is closed. When it gives the ajar warning, you can push the arm up and you wrong hear click in the center console. Once I spray it with the cleaner, then I get the click. I manually pushed the latch with my finger to simulate the door locked, that's why you see the white arm. If you try this, remember to pull the door handle to unlock the mechanism when you shut the door. . Otherwise when you close the door, it will bang hard. Also. . This leads me to believe it's not a mechanical issue.
  2. That's explains why when I read some people hosing down the latch worth only wd40 said that it stays on no matter how much you spray. Lol. Wd40 DOES NOT work! Use brake cleaner like a previous poster said or electrical cleaner. Some say brake cleaner eats plastic and destroys the housing. But I never seem that happen unless you leave a item dipped in our over night. But I stayed on the safe side amnd used electrical cleaner. But any how, this is the sweet spot. Put the straw right where I have it and spray. You can adjust the straw to hit the whole area squared in orange.
  3. I'll take a pic and circle the area so many others can follow.
  4. Alright. . Good news. Half a can of electrical cleaner revived it after 30 seconds of burst spraying. But the wr40 is resistant maybe. After 5 minutes if I open the door, is sticks again. I quickburst some cleanser And poof, gone. I found the exact spot to spray too.lol
  5. I beginning to wonder if it's a battery warming like you said. Put a meter on it and is at 3.06v. Don't know what's considered low to the ecmm.
  6. Should have left it alone with just electrical cleaner. I'm suspecting all that wd40 is seeping into the actuators circuit. I'm going to spray the death or of our tomorrow again Wish me luck brethren s
  7. Oh boy. Should have not sprayed wd40. Sensor is sticking again and it doesn't want to unstuck.
  8. Here is a update. Been 7 days since I sprayed electric cleaner. On the 4th day, I opened the door to spill extra coffee on the road when I was on a red light. The ajar stay on. I reopened it and closed it normally, ajar went off. It did it again on the 5th day and just reopened and closed it normally and it always goes away. So. .. This morning I decided to spray wd40 inside the latch without removing the door panel in which I have never done. I sprayed it good so it reaches everything. Guess what? The ajar light came one when I closed the door and refuse to go away no matter how many times I closed the door or even when i closed it rather hard. It stay on for a good 3 minutes until I decided to spray electric cleaner again. I soaked it really good and guess what? Ajar light is gone and hasn't come in the whole day again. So stay away from wd40 on this issue! Use electric cleaner!
  9. has not done it again after the door ajar double horn issue I had like everyone else. I sprayed the latch well with electric cleaner. It went away. Just wondering what the 3chirps mean. And it did it on both remote control lockers.
  10. Nope. I left the door open with the trunk latch open and it chirps 2 times. Left the trunk latch open with all the door s closed. Still 2 chirps. Anyone else know what 3chirps means?
  11. I don't know. I'll do a test this afternoon. Will update.
  12. Update us on this. We are all getting to this point where battery are going to stop working.
  13. Mines started doing this once in a while 2weeks ago. I followed the suggestion of spraying the latch with electrical cleaner. Since this morning it hasn't done it again. Cross.. my. . Fingers. If it don't happen within 3 days, that trick fixed it. I'll update in 2 more days.
  14. This is definitely related to the "ajar warning" everyone seems to be having. I was getting the ajar warning light once in a while when closing the door. Although it was properly closed it would stay on until I reopen and closer again normally. Well when this issue was happening, my horn would chirp 2 times (when remote locking)meaning there's a door open. I just reopen and close and it chirps 1 time. We'll. .. yesterday I noticed it was giving me 3 chirps. Never done that. I just open all the door and close them and then it locks properly. So anyways. . This morning i sprayed electrical cleaner spray from Autozone on the latch mechanism and inside the keyhole on the driver side since that was the offending door. I sprayed the whole can. Now. .. my issue is totally gone. Do I assume dirt on the mechanism sensor was the culprit. But I can't find anything online what 3 chirp means. Anyone know?
  15. It does have the instant mpg. But it's very sensitive and erratic. Only way to get a good reading is if you are on the highway and give it 2 minutes and it stays at a stay reading. Otherwise on city driving, it will Read between 10mpg to 99mpg.lol
  16. Yup. I driveen thru stop and go heavy city driving for aweek and noticed a 12mpg on the 2011 edge. . Driving on high way thou. . I'm able to get 29mpg.
  17. Thxs guys. Been enjoying driving this car I forgot about this forum. Love the power and sound still. Buy yes.. Haz.. That's the pic. I do use it for radio presets. But since it looks like adial pad I was expecting it to be a blue tooth in there. But I scrolled thru the while radio settings and Clymer find absolutely any blutooth settings. Im puzzled.
  18. What does the dial pad do on the right? the car has n o blue tooth. all it does from my observstions is hold preset radio stations.
  19. ok. new fill up. ran it till it went to 0 miles. 322 miles. about 10% highway driving. Fuel used: 17.55 gals Average Fuel mpg: 19.2 Pumped and clicked at 16.60 and toped it to 17 which pissed.
  20. Ok. Here's some good data. Filled the tank fully by topping it off until the car pissed. I know it's not a good idea to top it off but I have top make sure it's filled fully. Ran it until I reached 0 miles on the estimated time to empty on the dash. I got 388.4 miles on it from city driving and some 30% in highway driving. THIS IS WHAT THE DASH READ: Distance to E: 0 Miles traveled: 388.4 Fuel Used: 20.00 gal Average Fuel: 19.4 mpg Ok... at the pump I once again filled it at top speed and it clicked at 16.68 gal. Then proceded to click it until it pissed again and it pissed at exactly 16.91. I pushed ut till it reached exactly 17 gal. So worth this data.. I can see the computer reading 20 gal used us way off. And also it looks like running it to 0 miles means I have 1 gallon left exactly. The needle was right on top of the red dash too. Exactly on the red dash to be precise. I turned the key off and on to see if the needle drops and it does drop just barely like 5 hair strands. So... looks like im all good really. Ill log in the next empty tank for future referance.
