I exclusively drive in a big city on hills abd stop and go traffic. I am getting on average 12 mpg. Lolololol No kidding. On Highway I get about 29 mpg. Not bad. I think this is normal right? Don't laugh and spare me. Also. .. I do enjoy the 285hp so I tend to accelerate harder for the feel. But that shouldn't give me 12mpg right?

Update when you can. Although I don't have the eco boost, I'd like to know what Ford handles this if you are eating oil like pizza. In a first time Ford buyer.

I just started to get this smell myself last month. It's mildew growing on the condenser coils. Only fix is buying that spray that foams up thru the intake vents. Or what I do. But lysol anti bacterial spray. And puy the vent to full blast on hot abd already the whole can down the outside vents. It will make the air come out fresh smelling, a bit strong but goes at eventually and the mildew smell gets eliminated. I since cars it works , on others... It partially works. Try it before you go to the dealer and spend tons on money for then to tell you that you need your ac could cleaned.

On some cars, it's the same fluid. But always confirm it thru the manual.

Low fluid or no fluid will make it fail fast! Dumb of the shop not too check. But maybe they did, on these components, they are very high pressure. So maybe you developed a leak it just pissed it out fast as you drove. You should see the fluid where ever you park. Reddish pinkish type. Normally they are set right above the car uni frame. So the leaks will drip there and run down tge sides until it drips on another location. Again. .. Very high pressure. Now. . If you have absolutely no leaks. Then it's collecting on the steering rack boots where the tie rods are. They will ballon until they burst. Just fell them with your hand when its cool. If its squishy like a water ballon, that's your leak. Most likely you need a new steering rack. When these go low on fluid, they squeal loudly like a cornered angry pig.

Honestly. . I don't know. It would do 2 chirps sometimes, and 3 other times. But mostly 2 chirps. But after cleaning the door latch, both are gone.

Hey Ford Service, are you a employee from Ford? I'll be making a appt very soon. It has not done it again but ever since I bought the car with 41k mile, I have counted about 10 hard kicks coming from a slow stop. And 1 odd neutral incident, where coming to a full stop, the tranny went to no gears while still on D. Had to move to P and back to D and then a giant thump that I swore the tranny exploded. If your a employee and can advice, you will be thanked. I do love this car. But this tranny issue scares me. Also. .. I was told thru the dealer that the car had 100k warranty. Everyone tells me otherwise and that Ford only does 60k unless you buy the extended warranty. But going thru the Ford site, it says that when you buy a certified pre owned car, its coveted to 100k. Who is correct?

Any chance this thump is related to the throttle body issue everyone is having?

Hmm... 64k on my 2011 edge se. Exact same symptoms the op described. Do they keep the car all day and provide a rental for free since it's warranty work?

Just a update. Fixing the ajar driver side door problem fixed this 3 chirt issue.

Yup. Since September of last year, mines is fixed and has not come back. Follow what I did. Spray wd40, let it set for 10 minutes so it penetrates, open and closer the door to get things moving. Then spray the hell out of it with electrical cleaner. Use the whole bottle. Use my pics that I posted to see exactly where I sprayed. It's a sweet spot that fixed mines. It's been 4 months now and it hasn't come back. What might have helped alot was how I sprayed wd40 on it and it moved some debrie around and lubed everything, then sprayed the electrical cleaner that flushed everything. That's just my thoughts. But! Don't just spray wd40! If you do, it makes it worse and it never goes away.

I don't live in a cold climate area but there's definitely something wrong with your steering it should not feel hard at all. I would definitely change the fluid and see if that does anything since that's the cheapest route at the moment.if that doesn't help then there's a problem with the steering rack.

Mine is beginning to smell too. Its a 2011 Ford Edge SEL with 64th k miles. I noticed it again to smell when I use the wiper just for like 20 seconds to give it a good windshield wash.so I'm suspecting maybe the drains are clogged on mine I gotta look for them does anyone know where they are located. But all I've gotten the smell to go away with Lysol in the intake vents in front of the windshield on other cars. but yesterday I did go ahead and take out the cabin filter which was very easy to remove, and it was a little dirty but not smelly but I still cleaned it. So it's definitely mildew growing in the coils and it's hard to get to it so pray some Lysol or anything just instructed into the intake vents outside the windshield area

Does this effect all cars? Alp the 2011 models? And if i go to the dealer with a print out, will they charge a fee to look at it or just fix it since it's a tbs?

2011 edge se with 60k miles. Came to a stop in traffic. Held my foot in the brakes, when I accelerated the car did not move.like if it was on neutral. I thought it stalled but no, it was running. I put it it N and put it in D, and a colossal violence bump into gear.what the heck happened?

Ok. No pics but ill post as soon as I do it again. 2011 fwd base model with no ecoboost engine. 29.5 mpg on a steady road trip. But worst was city driving for a week with lots of hills, 12 mpg.
