  1. Welcome, seandrisc. Great forum for info and tips on everything Edge. Tell us about your ride. Did you just get it? Brand new '15 or '14? New-to-you '13 or older?
  2. Welcome, Rick. I'm sitting here in Long Island, NY watching U.S. Open golf being played in your neck of the woods @ Chambers Bay. Congrats on your new ride. Best of luck with it. I have a '13 SEL in Tux Black with the BAMR & 20" wheels. I'm guessing you've got some extra bells and whistles in your Limited. If I was buying new right now I'd probably go for a '14 hold over as opposed to the recently released '15s. I like the looks of the outgoing body style. The 15 makeover hasn't won me over yet. So tell us more about your new ride. Color, options? Got any pics to post? P.S. Great forum. Lots of info & tips on everything Edge. All the best, George
  3. Ford should have for the Edge the same or better than what they offer for the Escape, which has a far better cargo cover system. Heads-up Husky or Weather Tech... how about an aftermarket solution for that!
  4. Welcome to the forum 6772owner. I have a '13 Edge SEL in Tuxedo Black. Luv mine. Picked it up just off lease with 11K miles and perfect in/out, so was basically brand new; or at least brand-new-to-me! Great color on yours! I like that Deep Impact Blue. My daughter has that color on her new Escape. Anyways, how ya likin' those plastic covered wheels? I was a little miffed about that at first, but they look sharp and eventually grow on you... but still a PITA to keep clean. Welcome, and all the best to you and your new ride.
  5. Hey there, Craig! Welcome to the group! I have a '13 SEL and fortunately so far it has been perfect. Hope your noise issue gets resolved to your satisfaction. It does sound like the cabin air filter and/or maybe some crinkly dead leaves stuck in the air intake. Coincidentally I too have a Fusion; mine is a first generation 2007. Some nuisance stuff with Fusion of late, but all-in-all both vehicles trouble-free. P.S. This is a great forum for all kinds of info, tips and tricks. Stick around!
  6. Would've been nice if Ford just moulded it into the trim like they did for the rears. Just sayin'
  7. Thanks much! Especially for the heads-up on the polarity.
  8. Unfortunately, it's hard to find many people in lower NY that care much about other people's stuff. The local audio shop has too many bad satisfaction ratings for installs and if I go to a chain store that does installs it's just going to be an underpaid kid who doesn't care. Not risking damage to my Edge interior. If someone's going to mess it up, it'll be me. So after re-reviewing the You Tube how to videos for the front and rear door panels, I've decided this is now going to be my DIY project during my July 4th holiday break. I'm picking up 4 Kenwood 6x8 KFC-C6894PS 3-Way Performance Series speakers from Amazon this week and now just have to figure out which speaker wiring adapters to get. I'll let you know how it goes.
  9. Okay, I'm ready to attack this. Buying myself the Kenwood speakers for Father's Day. I don't want to cut and solder wiring. Anyone know what specific door speaker plug and play speaker wiring adapter I need to pick up for the '13 Edge SEL? I can't find the one I need. Is it the Metra 72-5600? Amazon says it won't work for the '13 Edge and the Metra site is useless. Also I'm reading about polarity issues with the Metra plug and play speaker adapter. Did anyone have that problem? Can someone tell me what speaker wiring adapter to get?

  11. YES. Stay away from the OEM guards. HORRIBLE to install. The Husky's are far superior and have a custom look that matches the SE/SEL/LTD trim. Best of all a 10 minute install. No drilling and uses existing screws. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15547-any-one-have-pics-of-husky-mud-guards-installed/?fromsearch=1 I sold my OEM's on eBay.
  12. I have a '13 SEL. Fortunately, no such issues for me, but this post may give you some insight, info or contacts... http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17965-driver-floor-is-soaking-wet/page-6?do=findComment&comment=132470 I hope you are able to get it resolved. All the best to you and your new ride, despite the initial challenge.
  13. You'd have to get the handles for the Smart key option. They're just a few dollars more at $38 on Amazon (I can only vouch for the quality of the ones by Razer Auto). They installed very easily and they look great. Might as well have chrome-clad handles to go with our chrome-clad wheels. Right?
  14. Was considering the window visors, but was on the fence. Now that I can see how decent they look on your black Edge, I just might go ahead and install on mine. Also wanted to put the bug deflector thing on the front. Both on Amazon at a decent price. Thanks for posting the pix.
  15. Welcome. I have the '13 SEL. No regrets. What color? Do you have pictures?
  16. So, Burke, do yourelf a favor and get the Husky mud flaps for the front. It was one of the first things I did after learning the hard way and having tire shine get sprayed all over the side of my freshly detaied Edge. While you won't need it for snow and slush much in TX, it'll keep the rainy road grime off as well. Looks sharp too. Custom fit and matches the trim nicely. P. S... I meant to congratulate you on 58 years of marriage. Quite an accomplishment these days. I'm clocking 34 years with the Mrs. in October, so I know what once & forever means.
  17. Excellent. Thank you. I'll let you know how I make out. Undecided if I should trust the install to some kid in the local audio shop vs. doing it myself. Now that it comes down to just having to replace the door speakers, I may attempt it myself. I have some good instructions provided via this forum. Back in December, Snake456 shared this You Tube link in his post in the Accessories & Mods thread... http://m.youtube.com...h?v=x_1OeYMfwl4 Now that summer is here, and you've confirmed that all I really need is better speakers, no more excuses.
  18. Does this Scion bumper protector fit the 2013 Edge SEL? When I click the link, Amazon is indicating that it does not fit my vehicle.
  19. Not too many of us are fond of the chrome-clad wheels. Any many of us (myself included) are embarassed to admit we didn't even realize they were plastic covers until it was too late! I too prefer the beefier V6 to the Ecoboost. As to the body style of '14 to '15, I prefer the former (though the newer style will probably start to grow on me the more I see it.) But for now this old dog likes it in the 2nd gen styling. P.S. I drive a '13 SEL, FWD. The wheels do look sharp though, and they will grow on you; just stay on top of them to keep them clean. A little Turtle Wax ICE spray wax and a plastic kitchen scouring pad or scrub brush will do the trick nicely at each wash. If you want to really protect them, give them a periodic coat of Collinite Metal Wax. So, what color is the Edge? Post some pics. Best of luck with it.
  20. Hey there, Smitty. Welcome to the forum. Nice color on your new ride. I've got a '13 SEL; ('11 to '14 are basically the same as you may know). Picked mine up in October '14 and lovin'it so far. No regrets. I even like this body style better than the new '15 model. One thing you'll want to do quickly is get mud guards for the front;or otherwise be ready for tire shine and road grime to spray all up the side panels. Based on my recent experience, I highly recommend the Husky brand over the OEM guards... http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15694-ford-edge-splash-guards/?do=findComment&comment=122110 All the best of luck with you new-to-you ride!
  21. Sharp looking ride, SoCalGlide! Ruby, meet Black Beauty (B.B.)... Do yourself a favor and get the Husky mud flaps for the front. It was one of the first things I did after learning the hard way and having tire shine get sprayed all over the side of my freshly detaied Edge.
  22. Congrats and welcome. I have a Tux Black '13 SEL also, but mine is FWD, which is just fine for Long Island, NY. A great vehicle in and out. Couldn't be happier with mine. Wishing you all the best with yours. Pics of yours?
  23. Welcome to the forum. Great to hear you've logged so many trouble-free miles. I hope I have the same result. So far I've got a mere 12K on my '13 SEL (of which I've only logged a thousand). Picked it up last October just off lease with just under 11K miles. So technically still on a honeymoon of sorts. No regrets so far. The Edge is a beauty in and out. I love the black and chrome contrasts on mine. A real looker.
  24. Welcome, Aaron. I really like the brown leather seats in your new-to-you Edge. I haven't seen that anywhere else. It picks up the woodgrain dash trim nicely. I have a '13 also, but mine is an SEL, so not as many bells and whistles as your Limited. But I love mine. No troubles, no regrets. Hope you have the same result. P.S. Get the Husky mud flaps for the front. You won't regret it.
