  1. Wow, so you guys are on Edge #4 with the addition of your '11 sport. I guess you know what you like! My '13 SEL is my first Edge. Love it. Can't wait to take my NY to FL roadtrip in the fall.
  2. I have a '13 SEL Tuxedo Black exterior and medium light stone interior. Love it, but if I had it to do over, would go with the charcoal int. Get a dealer installed remote start and the car is cool by the time you get in (and warm in winter too). I have the 3.5L V6. My daughrer has the 2.0 Eco Boost in her '15 Escape. I definitely prefer the V6. Welcome to the forum.
  3. Welcome. Similar experience with my '13 SEL. Got it last October from Ramp Ford (Long Island) with just under 11K miles (dealer's spouse's lease turn in). Mint in/out. Welcome to the forum and all the best with your new ride.
  4. Yuk. Looks like a public service ad for birth control. LOL.
  5. Recertified = refurbished. So maybe not such a good deal. I just installed these Infinities in my '13 SEL front doors... http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002CMUKZY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1436016556&sr=8-1&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=infinity+6832cf No issues with depth or fit. Got the pair for just over $50 which is a great deal. They're brand new and the sound (with just the stock head unit) is amazing. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15552-2013-ford-edge-sel-mods-so-far/page-2?do=findComment&comment=133597
  6. Funny thing is, if you look at Jaimei's front door panel video, the speaker you're seeing there is the same Infinity I just installed. If you're thinking about changing your fronts, I'd recommend them hands down.
  7. Nice! Since you now have both body styles, with your '12 MKX, I'd be curious for your impression of the re-done 15 vs. the '12, after you've had some ride time. Best of luck with it. Happy 4th.
  8. Infinity Reference 6832cf (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002CMUKZY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1436016556&sr=8-1&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=infinity+6832cf) in the front doors and JVC Kenwood KFC-C6895PS 6"x8" Performance Series 3-ways in the rear doors (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00I0FQUJW/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1436016788&sr=8-1&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=kenwood+6x8). To be honest, I think I cheaped out a little too much with the Kenwoods. I really wasn't too impressed with the sound of them by themselves after installing them last week. I got the Infinity's for the front because of the pivoting dome tweeters. I figured since I didn't have the A-pillar factory tweets, I could at least point the tweeters in the Infinity door speakers more toward my head; thought that might make a difference with the sound definition. I think it did. So anyway, got the Infinity's in yesterday, and while I wasn't overly impressed with the Kenwood's in the rear, I was absolutely blown away by the sound coming from the Infinity's up front. All in all, I'm very happy with the end result. Thanks again for pointing me to those "JaimeiHelpYou" door panel removal how-to's on You Tube. Happy 4th.
  9. Good mpg. Better than mine at 15; but I meant how much on the odometer?
  10. Hey, Dood. So I got the fronts in today. All done. $150 complete. I'm very happy with the new high def sound. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15552-2013-ford-edge-sel-mods-so-far/page-2?do=findComment&comment=133569 Happy 4th.
  11. Got the front door speakers in today. Infinity Reference coaxials in the front doors (with pivoting dome tweeters), and Kenwood 3-ways in the rear doors. So the 4 speakers, the Metra 72-5600 adapters and the Boom Mat speaker baffles cost me $150 all together. Install was a piece of cake. Very satisfied with the end result. Sounds great.
  12. Got the fronts done today. Easy job. Infinity Reference coaxials up front; Kenwood 3-ways in the rear. Sounds great. I'm satisfied.
  13. Welcome 62Woody. Nice ride. 1 vote "for" the graphic. I've not seen that before. Very unique. Sounds like you have enough experience with the Edge to know what you're gettin' into! What kind of mileage on your new-to-you ride? How many on your first gen '07? I'm guessing your Edge experiences to date have been good. Best of luck with the new 'silver streak!' Looks great! I'm still lovin' my '13 SEL.
  14. I have 13K miles on my '13 SEL, FWD. Mine is also Tux black with the chrome-clad wheels. Absolutely love it. Taking my first real road trip with it in the fall (NY to FL). Can't wait! P.S. check out the chrome-clad door handle overlays on my ride. Makes those plastic wheels pop, right!? Sold by Razer Auto; $35 on Amazon. All the best with yours. Hope the love affair with the Edge continues for both of us.
  15. I have only done local driving since purchasing my FWD, V6, 3.5L '13 SEL last October. I have only driven it approximately 2000 miles in 8 months. I'm getting 14.8 mpg. Doesn't seem so good compared with everyone else's claims. Doing a NY to FL road trip in the fall, so I'll report back to you all then.
  16. Hey, Dood. Just wanted to let you know that I started my factory speaker swap-out. I installed a pair of Kenwood 3-way 6x8 (KFC-C6895PS) in the rear doors this past weekend. Turned out to be a very easy job. Took me about 45 minutes per door. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15552-2013-ford-edge-sel-mods-so-far/page-2?do=findComment&comment=133397 I'll reserve judgment on the sound quality for now until I get the front speakers in. Honestly didn't notice too much of an improvement just yet with just the rears swapped out. I'm marrying them up with a pair of Infinity Reference series coaxials with pivoting dome tweeters in the front. I'm hoping that with the Infinity's in the front paired with the Kenwood 3-ways in the rear, that I'll end up with a noticable improvement in sound quality without having to do anything further. Not looking to one-up these kids with their mobile amphitheaters that rattle my house when they pass by. Just looking to get some modest HD sound in my ride.
  17. Special thanks to snake456 for pointing me to the "JaimeiHelpYou" door panel removal how-to's on You Tube and for recommending the Metra speaker wire harness adapters. (See his 12/28/14 post in this thread.) I'll admit I was very hesitant to start disassembling parts of my new ride, but the videos gave me the confidence I needed to attempt the speaker swap-out myself. As it turns out, it was the better alternative to having some careless kid in an audio shop taking my doors apart. At least I know by doing it myself that it was done without shortcuts and with a lot more care. Did the rears Sunday. Plan to do the fronts over the holiday weekend. 18. Finally started my factory speaker swap out in my non-Sony '13 SEL. Got in the two rear doors yesterday. Easy-peasy. Those "JaimeiHelpYou" how-to videos (front & rear door panel removal) on You Tube were great. And the Metra 72-5600 speaker harness adapters are a must have. Made it soooo easy to swap out the speakers; plug and play. I also got the Boom Mat slim fit speaker baffles, which had the perfect depth; enough for the speakers to have sufficient airflow, but not so deep that they interfere with the window movement. I plan to get the front door speakers done over the holiday weekend.
  19. I'm sold. I gotta get me one! It's on my mods list.
  20. 2013 SEL, FWD. 3.5L V6, Tuxedo Black Metallic. 205A pkg. w/ Sync/MFT, leather, back-up camera. Options included all weather rubber mats, panoramic vista roof, and 20" chrome-clad wheels. Dealer installed remote start. Sticker new was $36,825 after discounts (was in glove box). Picked this baby up October 27, 2014. This was a dealer's vehicle (one of the sales guy's wife's lease turn in). It was literally brand new in/out; just barely broken in with just 10,970 on the odometer. I added an extended 7/75 warranty and, after tax and tags, drove it home for $30,572. Location: Long Island, NY.
  21. Welcome and congrats on the new ride. Mine's a '13 SEL, also in the Tuxedo Black. All the best of luck with your sleek new '15. P.S. nice boat!
  22. Welcome to the forum, kkreit01. A great place for all the Edge tips and info you're looking for. There sure are a lot of knowledgeable owners here. (I'm an owner, but not necessarily a knowledgeable one.) I have a '13 SEL FWD, also in Tux Black, so basically the same as your '14. Picked mine up last October, just off lease, with only 11k miles. Mint in/out. Mine has the 20" wheels, panoramic vista roof (BAMR), NY legal tint on my front windows and I've done a couple of minor cosmetic mods... the Husky splash guards on the front and chrome door handle overlays (my chrome-clad wheels were lonely with all that Tuxedo Black). I also picked up an OEM cargo mat. My next DIY mod project is to change out the OEM door speakers that came with the sad non-Sony base sound system. Got all the how-to I needed from this forum and just picked up the speakers last weekend. Hope to find the time in the next couple weeks to get it done. Love my Edge. All the best of luck with yours. Keep us posted on what you do with it.
  23. I believe it also changes the areodynamics slightly to help lessen the likelihood of those bugs and debris from hitting the windshield.
  24. Cool beans. I have a '13 SEL, FWD, non-nav, with BAMR and 20" wheels. Not as many bells and whistles as yours, but I like. Got mine in October; just off lease with 11K miles, so it's just about new... just about broken in. Did a couple of minor cosmetic mods, like the splash guards and chrome door handle overlays (my chrome-clad wheels were lonely surrounded by all that Tuxedo Black and needed some chrome-clad door handles to make them pop). Am now getting ready to change out the OEM door speakers this summer to help rectify the sad non-Sony base sound system.
