  1. Thanks! It looks like a season of direct sunlight exposure might make a real mess of that dashboard. It will be interesting to see if other owners have this issue. Have you shown the "new" blistered dash to your service dept.? If so, what was their response?
  2. cab; What color did you order, and which color are you thinking of changing to?
  3. I had incorrectly assumed that the 3.5 was a DI motor. It is not, and is a throttle body controlled engine. The issue discussed above is covered by this video though it is mainly about DI Eco engines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ynGWxzJHjA
  4. We have talked a bit about DI motors and the possibility of them becoming problematic later in life due to valve coking. A lot of folks insist that "catch cans" are the best solution to reducing the amount of oil vapor that is injested into a DI motor. I suppose we can argue the point as to whether a Eco motor is going to be more reliable than the 3.5 (w/ a throttle body), but I believe the 3.5 will be, in spite of the reported need for reprogramming of the ecu for the throttle body that are still being seen in the 2015 Edge. I found this video and thought it did a good job of talking about the valve deposit buildup in the Eco-boost motors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ynGWxzJHjA 2nd video added https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nK2eXdaydqI
  5. I saw this and had to chuckle. Some here would not see it as funny...At all.
  6. Please take a picture or two of the defect.
  7. Good news! Keep us posted on the new one going forward.
  8. Has anyone had their dealer's service shop actually be able to fix this issue? If so, what did they do?
  9. Not sure if this will include the Edge, but I suspect it will. If you find out otherwise please let us know. http://www.autoblog.com/2015/10/29/ford-set-to-launch-huge-sale-next-week/
  10. It would be a good idea to let your dealer know about this issue so that Ford is made aware of the problem. Hopefully then the light assembly vendor will be forced to get involved in correcting this problem. No complaint, no long lasting repair!
  11. Hassan; Not good! Is there any way for you to find out when that vehicle was built? It sounds like a heart break for yet another new owner!
  12. Have any idea which parameters get updated with this re-flash?
  13. Lee; I would be interested in your thoughts comparing the 2013 vs 2015 3.5? Anything get your attention as different?
  14. I have a bad feeling that if nothing has changed @ the vendor that builds this unit your result will be the same. It would really be helpful to know how many other owners have this issue and / or have it and don't know it yet.
  15. He will not have wait long as the remnants of a major tropical system is headed his way ( & mine) next week.
  16. sm; Living in Tenn. as you do I expect it won't take long for the fall rains to be "the tell" for your Edge. Hopefully your done with further issues, but if not, you have a good case for a lemon law repurchase by Ford. Look into what your state offers as lemon law protection and keep a log of dates, attempted repairs, and conversations about the issue and who said what and who did what. Hopefully all will be fine, but just in case... Be prepared, and keep us posted as to how things go. Good luck! Also please add your attempted repair to this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18423-post-15b21-leak-repair-follow-up-report/
  17. I feel your pain! I had to spend $1K do accomplish the same thing on my truck. I am shooting for an April-May delivery, and with any luck I will not need to drop anymore $ into the "old warhorse" trough.
  18. Please comment on the exterior "fit & finish" of your Edge / MKX. Any issues with the painted panels like excessive orange peel, cloudy spots, or overspray? How is your door / panel fitment? On a 1-10 scale how would you grade your new vehicle in regards to fit & finish?(1=excellent & 10= not acceptable) Please discuss your problem areas if present, and if you took it back to your dealer what were they able to do to fix your issue(s).
  19. It might make for an interesting "seat of the pants" comparison. Run a tank of each grade and see how much difference it makes, and also to see if a difference can be detected. It also will be interesting to see if fuel econ. is affected?
  20. Can anyone confirm that the order bank is open or will open in the near term? I just checked with my local dealer and they had not heard a thing.
  21. I've seen the roof rails and for the life of me I can't see what they will be good for? They seem to be made of plastic and are slotted on the outside edges and don't appear to lend themselves to cross bars. Maybe I am missing something, but if not, I will need to go to aftermarket for a roof rack that will fit my needs.
  22. sm; Thanks for your review! I want to hear some longer term reviews to see how this engine holds up before I decide. Since I will not be ordering mine until late winter, I've got some time to see how owners feel with the passage of time and mileage. Be sure to come back to this thread and update your thoughts as you put on mileage. By the way, why is your's in the shop?
  23. Any new thoughts about 2.0 ownership? Are there any issues showing up recently? I seem to recall that a few early owners of 2015's were having issues with the pressurized air supply hose becoming blown off due to poor clamping issues. I am not certain if this was a wide spread issue or not?
