  1. It is all VIN related unless you have a specific problem.
  2. Let's talk about this decision five years from now...
  3. Bingo! When I find a good resource of info. about something I am interested in I pull up a chair and hang out awhile. The more I learn about this new Edge the better informed I become about which options I purchase and those which I omit. For better or worse, all cars today are "fluff" delivery systems. Gone are the days where long lasting durability counts for much in today's market place. Mega sun-roofs,multi screen vehicle connectivity systems, auto-stop, 9 speed auto. trannies are just problems in waiting.(IMO) I am not sure what the designed life cycle of all the ecm's, ecu's, and bcm's are that control these features, but you can bet you will see some sad times about the time that the long term warranty expires. I just try to buy a vehicle with as little fluff as I can, but these days it's not an easy job. Fluff is everywhere!
  4. Can we get a second verification of this? If they are jammed up with 2015's being held what will that mean for 2016's when that production run starts? (thought to be started in Dec.?) Also it begs the question of what is causing the hold up? I have been told by Ford customer service that 2016 demos will be available for customer inspection Jan 16. Of course I realize that this is just a target date, but it's a date none the less.
  5. I think age does have a lot to do with the "flavor" (for the lack of a better term) of the individuals that contribute to it. I don't spend much time in / on the other year groups on this forum, but what I do see seems to me like reasonable discourse. The key to any forum is exchange of good information and a group of contributors that are willing to suffer what on the surface seem like "stupid" questions or replies. As has been said by much smarter people than myself "there are no stupid questions only stupid answers". As far as I can tell in my rather short tenure here this group seems to have created a good environment for thoughtful discussions. I believe A Kirby does a good job at light handed moderation, (which I know can be a thankless task) as well as providing great info. for the forum as a whole. Good on you AK!
  6. Denicio; Yeah I think so. There were a pretty good number of 2.5 I4 Fusion owners that had their problems fixed by that Customer Satisfaction Program action. It has been indicated (in another thread) that TSB 15-0123 addresses the 3.5 Edge issue. We will have to see if it does indeed fix the issue.
  7. They did! My wife's 2010 would die in traffic and scare the hell out us. It took Ford several months before they sent out a TSB fix for the issue, which involved replacing the TB with an updated one and a re-flash. I went out and bought a new TB before we received the notice to inform us to bring it in for service. Since I had out of pocket expense for the purchase of the new TB, Ford reimbursed that expense and did a re-flash. No problems since...
  8. I spoke with Ford Customer Care today and other than answer the question I had primarily called about, I was told that Ford planned to have a 2016 on my dealer's lot (and others) Jan 16th @ 3:00 for customer inspection. That's pretty specific...I'll believe it when I see it.
  9. Nick; Are you getting any wind noise that you can directly attribute to those failing trim / sealant locations as far as you can tell?
  10. Has TSB 15-0123 fixed the stalling issue for you with the 3.5?
  11. Well we know they are holding them at least...
  12. It's worrisome that there are still 2015's being on "hold" from August builds today. What will 2015 "holds" do to 2016's being shipped in a timely manner? No, not a trick question...
  13. Good deal! It would be interesting to know what the difference is between the old piece and the new one?
  14. I just found this featuring 2016 prices: http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2016/Ford/Edge
  15. From one veteran to all other veterans here. Thank you for your service, and welcome home! Freedom is never free!
  16. Any new owners willing to post up your thoughts in a review?
  17. I am leaning pretty hard toward that color too!
  18. There are posts in other threads that show that the dealer applied "fixes" to this leak issue did not work. If you have a vehicle that was id'ed by Ford as in need of a dealer visit for a follow up sealant application, keep an eye open for front interior floorboard wetness. If your Edge does need additional work following your dealer applied sealant failing to fix this issue please let us know about it.
  19. This makes me wonder if it is possible to seal the area that was missed / improperly sealed during initial assembly? Seems like the dealer applied post assembly sealant is not really doing a lasting job. Time will certainly tell the tale on that!
  20. WN; Post up some pictures if you do dip it.
  21. Thanks! It looks like a season of direct sunlight exposure might make a real mess of that dashboard. It will be interesting to see if other owners have this issue. Have you shown the "new" blistered dash to your service dept.? If so, what was their response?
  22. cab; What color did you order, and which color are you thinking of changing to?
  23. I had incorrectly assumed that the 3.5 was a DI motor. It is not, and is a throttle body controlled engine. The issue discussed above is covered by this video though it is mainly about DI Eco engines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ynGWxzJHjA
