  1. Greetings and Welcome Looks like a pretty complicated DIY. Most people would probably rather spend their upgrade $'s on HID's, LED’s, wheels or performance upgrades. Your best bet would be to visit a wrecking yard. Would be BIG $’s at your Ford dealer. To do it 100% OEM you would need… Outside Lift gate handle New key fob Trim pieces for the dash and rear, and the release buttonS All the bits and pieces under those trim pieces The lift gate piston ? ? Your wiring harness may not support this upgrade? Let us know if you proceed with this project, I’M sure there are people on here that would be interested. ab
  2. Somebody correct me. If a problem isn’t repaired under the warranty then THAT problem is still covered UNTIL it’s repaired, even after the warranty expires. If you’re still thinking about getting an extended warranty THEY ARE VERY competitive with each other. Read about them here. http://slickdeals.net/f/3137454-FORD-EXTENDED-WARRANTIES-ESP-HEAVILY-DISCOUNTED-Even-on-Non-Ford-cars http://www.zeiglerfordesp.com/ I got a couple of online quotes took the best to my dealer and asked if they could meet or beat. He came back $20 higher than the quote so I took it. You do need to get it before your warranty runs out. Google is your friend. ab
  3. So far it looks like it’s pretty secure. Someone even dug out DOS and didn’t have any luck. Has anyone tried Norton Commander? It’s from the late 1980’s still functional, barely. Look here, it’s in the audio, navigation sub forum. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/10473-16gb-sd-nav-sat-a-1-cards-how-to-erase/ ab
  4. We didn’t have an anti-rattle pin last year for the empty motorcycle trailer from/to CO to TX. Clang clang rattle bang rattle, etc….. II’mm stillll aaa littleeee nnerviou. ab
  5. Greetings and Welcome The fan running after shut down is an indication that your motor is HOT, even in SW Florida. Or it thinks it’s hot, might be a bad sensor. Or Could be that your AC compressor is ALWAYS running. Set your AC/heat control to off then check the fan. BUT first You need to check your cooling system. Coolant level, cap, thermostat and water pump. Using your heater would be a quick test of the cooling sys. Good luck ab

    Where do you park?!

JUST like a friend and my sister-in-law, I circle the lot endlessly looking for that perfect spot. I then resort to following people from the building HOPING they have that perfect spot. ab
  7. I thought the size thing was me or Internet Explorer 8. Here's a test with the same picture one has a resolution of 4272X2848 (as taken by a Canon XSi) The other has been resized to 1024X683 using Canon Digital Photo (came with the camera) And her's a pic I post the other day. ab
  8. Speed Mafia has lots of snow and gravel rds in CO. Wonder if they plumb the intake back to the engine compartment? It’ll have a turbo timer, that’s what the pump is for. ab
  9. Is this a custom install or a kit designed for the Edge? I don't think I've ever seen a turbo that far from the motor. ab
  10. It’s a weekend, you might try this. Tonight MAKE SURE everything that can be turned off is off. AC, auto headlights, etc. Make sure ALL plug in devices (cell phone charger, radar detector, tablet, etc.) are unplugged. Disconnect the battery Turn the headlights on, step on the brake for a few minutes. This would be optional, lots of discussion about does is/does it not work. Hook the battery cables together… C Clamp, Duct tape etc. Don’t forget to turn the headlights off. Hook the battery up IN THE MORNING, but don’t start it. Turn the key to the ON position for a few minutes. Start it, let it idle for a few minutes, move the transmission to all gears then go for a drive. Good luck Maybe FordGuru will have a procedure for replacing the battery. You might send him a PM. ab
  11. Heres a pic of our Hidden Hitch from Hitchmart. Their part # 87433 they say 45: to install I used a T-One Connector Assembly their part # 118430 for the wiring harness. Not sure about the recommended install time. Probably took a total of 2 hours. Supper easy DIY. I didnt run the wire to the battery for the T-One Connector. Looked easy but… I powered it off of the power for the tail gate. Weve used it once. 675 empty miles, 500 lb. U-Haul motorcycles. 675 miles with a 600+ lb. motorcycle and lots of other stuff, total weight about 2K. Zero problems even up Raton Pass in southern Colorado. 16 to 17 mpg @ 65 mph ab
  12. Our 08 needs shocks @ 50K miles. We do drive on gravel roads (about 1k a yr) in the summer. ab
  13. Didn’t think you were :beerchug: , that’s why I waited to reply. It’s my wife’s tag. I told her I forgot the after pic (we were getting the new wheels). When I walked around to take the pictures she rolled the window down and said “DO NOT take my picture :o !” I just and deleted it after she got out. ab
  14. Was leaving took the tag down then remembered the pictures.
  15. Here’s a picture of our 08. We went with the lightest tint, don’t remember the %. This pic makes it look a little darker than it is. ab
  16. He’ll do it. Do a search on blazedup. Note to akirb: Sorry couldn’t resist Good job… and thanks ab
  17. You remind me of my brother, he ALWAYS had to get the last word in. Went to visit him the other day, didn’t say anything just looked at his headstone. HE DID get the last word in! Miss you Paul ab
  18. 11edge Obviously you dont have DLRs. OR Chris is like a friend of mine. He has excellent night vision. When he moved to a car withOUT auto headlights I had to constantly remind him to turn his lights on. Chriswin: If you have time you could go talk to the judge, they are usually pretty lenient about stuff like this. I had an Aprilia Milli R a couple of rides ago, if the Ducati is going to be your first liter bike… IT WILL stretch your arms ! OH almost forgot… Thanks… We thought my wife had a heart attack last yr. ab
  19. Guru What grade bolt should Eckman use? Eckman, you bought the Edge used? For peace of mind and a happy wife you should have a reputable suspension shop or your dealer thoroughly check the suspension! ab
  20. Sorry I just couldn’t help myself :beerchug: . I did a little research on Ford.com http://www.ford.com/crossovers/edge/specifications/engine/ The 3.5 V6 has 253 lbs torque The EcoBoost I4 has 270 The 3.7 V6 has 280 A properly equipped Edge has 3500 lbs towing capacity. Honda.com says the CRV http://automobiles.honda.com/cr-v/specifications.aspx The 2.3 has 163 ft-lbs torque The CRV has a towing cap of 1500 lbs ab
  21. A friend had a CRV a few yrs ago. You wont have to worry about “passing Semi's on the highway.” ab

    spark plugs

Just an example of what it takes to change the plugs in a modern motor. Don’t think the intake manifold needs to be removed on the V8/10’s, etc. That’s why it cost SO much, lots of hours = big $’s. ab

    spark plugs

Changing plugs is a little more complicated than it was for your fathers Olds. Watch this YouTube, for Fords V8/10, it’s an eye opener. ab
  24. Maybe it’s the AWD? Dingo and Fingernip are yours AWD? It looks like c_bova has AWD? ab
