  1. I've had 1 failure of GPS when driving using the navigation. The systems showed "No GPS" and the navigation was showing our vehicle indicator driving cross country. After turning the vehicle off and back on, the issue went away and has never been back.
  2. The manual shows WY21W as the front turn signal bulb. From googling I think it's the same as 7440.
  3. I respect everyone else's choices for their vehicles, but when we chose our Edge the Kona Blue was more appealing than the Too Good to be Blue. When I saw TGTBB last week I was happy we chose Kona instead. It all comes down to personal preference.
  4. I see about 5-10 2015's every week. Maybe 2-3 other 2016's. Can usually tell by the rear blinker colour or paint colour. Sometimes can tell by the Lic Plate digits too. It's nice to have a rare vehicle, but also don't want to stand out too much. When my Edge is super clean and shiny, people on the road are much more 'ass-y' and cut me off or won't let me merge more. It's definitely noticeable the jealousy of others on the road.
  5. MFT/Sync2 was a learning experience for Ford. The decision to switch to Blackberry QNX as many other automakers have was a smart one. Microsoft Sync didn't have the ecosystem buy-in and therefore was stuck with limited support for new feature development but overall stability has definitely improved to Ford's credit. QNX and Sync 3 have a lot of competition in the marketplace from automakers and tech companies. The promise of regular updates hasn't materialized yet as Ford hasn't released any updates yet I still remain hopeful. We are spoiled by all the technology and we expect that new features will be added regularly as Apple and Android have accustomed us to.

  7. Many of the traditional automakers are playing it too safe with software updates for infotainment. Take a look at Tesla, who roll out software updates and 'beta features' all the time to customers to try out. Ford could easily set up a developer program where any interested (and knowledgeable) customers can try out new features and provide feedback. I'm currently involved with many startups as a beta tester and working on projects at work that deliver incremental feature updates to a subset of users prior to global releases. It's called Agile development, and it's nothing new. Really hope Ford can deliver more updates to Sync 3 as this millennial is getting bored.
  8. From the Manual: Automatic release - drive away release Your vehicle will automatically release the parking brake if all of the following conditions exist: • The driver door is closed. • The accelerator pedal is pressed. • There are no faults detected in the parking brake system. Note: If the electric parking brake warning lamp stays illuminated, the electric parking brake will not automatically release. You must release the electric parking brake using the electric parking brake switch. Note: On manual transmission vehicles, if the transmission is in neutral (N) when you release the clutch pedal and press the accelerator pedal, the electric parking brake will release automatically. Note: On manual transmission vehicles, you must fully press the clutch pedal before the drive away release feature will operate. Drive as normal using the accelerator and clutch pedals and the electric parking brake will be automatically released. The brake system warning lamp will go off to confirm that the electric parking brake has been released.
  9. I find the direction indicator sound quite pleasing on the 16 Edge. A few weeks ago we had a 15 Jeep Grand Cherokee which was a piece of garbage. It drove rough, was loud, and the blinker sounded like scratch-clunk, scratch-clunk. It was awful, we were so happy to get the Edge back.
  10. The base SE and SEL come with regular Sync, but MyFord Touch on Sync 2 definitely isn't a 2016. I love the AppLink on Sync 3. I listen to 100% streaming music via Spotify and the direct integration is fantastic. Lots of room for improvement and new features, and soon to have Apple Carplay and Android Auto too. The Audio system is the same, but if streaming is as important to you as it is to me, than Sync 3 is the only way to go. We waited for the 2016 MY specifically for Sync 3 and have not been disappointed.
  11. Not a constant 'chirp' but you can definitely hear the turbo go 'pewfffff' when hitting the accelerator hard.
  12. Do you have a turbocharged engine? Sometimes when accelerating quickly I can hear the turbo spool on my 2.0 EcoBoost.
  13. I spend $900 on an iPhone and when Apple says a new feature comes out in September, it comes out in September. Spend $50,000 on an Edge and Ford say an update is coming 'later this year.' Come on, Ford, get it together!
  14. I have a 2016 Titanium with Factory Tow package and the Hand Free Liftgate works great. Almost 100% success with a proper 'kick.' Imagine there was a 12"x12" invisible box on either side of the Tow receiver. While standing behind the Edge with the key fob, Kick straight through that invisible box and then pull your foot back. Make sure that your entire foot and part of your shin extend under the rear bumper. The liftgate should open. Use the same motion to close it. For your first month of ownership you should try the feature in various situations to understand how to use it. The feature can be really handy and I use it all the time.
  15. The grill is not painted, it's molded plastic. I had mine replaced after it was cracked from hitting road debris. Part # for Non-Sport Grill Without Front Camera/Washer= FT4Z-8200-AA This component is ~$800, so it's definitely not cheap!
