Mother's speed clay product?
Mgavin1985 replied to Chipster's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
I can tell you what not to do which go onto eBay and buy a low cost blue clay bar for China for $1.50. I ended up getting a chunk of some sort of cancer causing rubber. stick with mothers normal clay bar after I was the car With dawn to strip old wax sealant just rub the clay onto of the soapy water area of what ever part of the car your on I don't use the quick detailer that comes with it. I think the soapy dawn suds give the clay more bite -

yea I would not go any larger than I have. I don't get any mud fling and knock on wood my suspension does not show any faster wear no vibration only bad thing they are not slip on slip off once you commit and cut your studs your stuck with them. Only advice is putting antiseize the copper type between spacer(aluminum) and hub(steel) to avoid bonding through corrosion. The suspension feels very roley like the old crystaler New Yorker

I second motor sport, Lenny made me 30mm spacers/adapters and it was quality I have about 7000 miles on them with the factory sport wheels. you get lifetime warranty with motorsport and American made H&R I don't think they come with lifetime warranty. I did have to cut my studs about 1/3 and inch. I have photos in another thread about spacers/adapters

Worst part is the ride if I hit a pothole the size of a basketball it feels like I ran over a side walk curb at 65 mph head on, never realized how much cushion you get from the tire itself on a 17 or 18 rim.

Thank you for your responses it was very Helpful

The way it worked out I got the set on eBay shipped and all for around 900$ then sold the 17's for around $300 it was almost too good of a deal I did not anticipate the drop in response time or the tank like ride but they look good.

The weight was noticeable when I had them shipped UPS big bill!. I've had them on for 10,000 miles I did an alignment right after install around the 2000 mile mark I had a lot of vibration and had to replace inner and outer tie rods then had another alignment. I'm think faster/sooner suspension wear on everything. What do you guys think since I'm running heavier and taller setup

I actually put a set of 30 mm wheel adapters on so no rubbing. I'm going to look into updating the tire size in the computer I've never used a odb2 or see what a dealer would charge here is a pic also look at how small the rotor look in it funny. Do you guys know is the suspension completely different setup for sports such as struts or beefier components I would like to also improve ride

Great info forscan what is it an app or reader? It is causing my transmission to be gear searching constantly it is a pain in ass. Makes since that an actual sport model has different ratio it also effect rise quality as well. It feels like I'm driving a tank. thanks for all the replies I get good info on here. My current fix is driving is S mode on trans and keeps RPMs higher and limits gear searching 0-60 time is 20 seconds

Someone probably has the answers. I had a Se 17 inch stick set of rims I ended find a great deal and now it has the factory 22 inch for the sport trim with 265 40 22 tires. When I switched it is now a slug when driving I know the sport trim is a taller setup and altogether diameter but I have to drive in s mode on the transmission just to have normal driving conditions or the transmission is always shifting as soon as I hit slight incline. I wonder if I can have a dealer flash the computer and give me a sport trim tune. I don't want to buy aftermarket turner but my shift point feeling like I'm towing a 50 ft boat behind me head up pikes peak

It work decent and the safety on it where it stop rotating with too much pressure or being off kilter. The UTTG trim dressing is very impressive make the trim look new not greasy seems durable. What's the good word with aqu wax from duragloss looked like very good affordable product that had a following. I was watching YouTube the ammo guy from NYC was pretty informative. I have not tried Wolfgang sealant. I have a 13 deep metallic blue and the front hood took a beating this winter from salt truck a lot of chips -

So my Edge had some water spots and swirls and scratches and I've been reading online forums and pulled the trigger on some purchases to do a full detail. So I purchased a DA polisher from harbor freight and meguiars 105 compound And then 205 polish and followed by klasse AIO and then 3 coats of Klasse High gloss sealant and two coats of gold class paste wax. I am completely blown away at the shine the 205 brought out and the klasse locked in. Has anyone else used this stuff. It took out almost every swirl mark too. For the trim and tire I used UTTG which is head and shoulders above back to black and very different from normal trim dressings. Do pro detailors use the above stuff is this a combo any one else uses and it doesn't look like a weekend warrior's craft work. 8 hours for each coat of klasse high gloss to cure took a day and a half and my back if killing me. I will up load pics.
