  1. Just jotting this one down in case this happens to anyone else. Last week I started my car and after 30 seconds had the traction control lights and ABS light come on with the warning chimes. Got notes to "Service AdvanceTrac" and saw that traction control was turned off. Codes were pulled -> U0401-68 and U3000-49 . U0401-68 - Invalid data received from ECM/PCM. U3000-49 - Control Module - Internal Electric Failures. Quick research told me this might be a broken PCIM or maybe a worn out or dirty wheel sensor. Saw on a Ford Focus forum that an old battery might not be sending a full or steady current to the computer. This last one was the easiest to check, and sure enough, the battery was bad. Replaced the battery, cleared the codes and have not had any problems in the last week. 2013 ford edge 3.5L
  2. Hey thanks! I called around to a few places, and even though it wasn't the cheapest options (surprisingly) the owner of the shop was real knowledgeable and had just done another Edge replacement and was familiar with the car. There were about 88k miles on it when it failed
  3. After my unexpected water pump failure, I got my Edge back! Shop installed a low mileage engine with a new water pump for $3400. Put in a performance tune from Unleashed Tuning, its like having a whole new car.
  4. It’s a 2013. Not terribly surprising given its age, but still...
  5. It was one hell of a weekend for my Edge. It got new brake pads and rotors, new tires, and replaced motor mounts all around, even painted the grill gloss black for that Sport look, only to have the water pump fail on the way home from lunch the next day. The engine only has 86k miles on it, can you believe it? Autonation quoted a replacement engine for $5,680 (no way, not paying $160/hour for labor), so it's being towed to a local shop who says they can do a used engine with a new water pump for half of what AN estimated.
  6. Hey I don't think anyone has. Post a picture when you're done! I've been thinking about doing something like that as well.
  7. Check this video out, relevant parts start about 8:30 in, there's no adapter available so you'll have to tap into the factory speaker wires for signal. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-cbbyNr1Qdri/learn/adding-an-amplifier-to-a-factory-stereo.html
  8. Have you checked out FocusFanatics.com? They have an active forum and I’m sure that if they haven’t already seen that, they can help you figure out what’s going on. My previous car was also a 2012 Focus and every time I had a challenge, I found an answer there.
  9. I think that's pretty cool, there's too much chrome on this car for my taste. The color is Deep Blue Metallic and I got mine off of Amazon, but Vivid Vinyl does sell it too. I think the part number for it is 1080 G217? It is super close to the factory color, but off by just enough that you couldn't use it for exterior trim. I was hoping to use the blue on the front grill but it was obvious that the colors didn't match.
  10. Saw the post about using car vinyl instead of Plasti-dip to color the grill trim pieces. Wanted to try it on something small first, so I did the interior trim piece to match the exterior blue paint.
  11. I don't think the basic system is amplified any further than a typical 10-15 watts from the stock head unit.
