  1. I have a 16 Edge Sport. I know the rated towing capacity but was reading in Europe is often much higher as here often used to upsell. I am looking at a Rubicon Toy Hauler that is 6500lbs (dual axle) is there any chance I can tow this without destroying my beloved edge? I see many similar sized suvs that can.
  2. Id dedinitely get the 16 over the 15 (I was in same boat) but having Sync 3 was well worth it for me. I got my CPO 16 Sport with 50k miles and 401a package and 21" wheels for 25k.
  3. Man that probably would have made things easier/cleaner for me but at least I didnt have to go splicing in.
  4. If you want a dashcam that records in parking mode you can hardwire it. I just recently redid mine to run this way.
  5. Love that orange color and wish I had found one instead of silver but the new name fits and that ST is sweet!!!
  6. Its nasty drizzle out today but next time I get a chance will shoot one and post on youtube with a link here.
  7. Honestly it wasn't that hard more just time consuming. I will make a few quick observations: I took off the drivers side door trim from both doors halfway from the top. Popped off the side panels from dash on drivers side. Stuck the low voltage cutoff switch inside below the A-pillar and fished the power lines and ground down under the dash and used micro2 taps to connect to fuses (biggest annoyance was I found I had to dremel the edges of the taps because the fuses used are much narrower but once I figured that out works fine). Ran the power cable up the A-piller and on top of the side curtain airbag by pulling the top trim down with my hand. Hid the power and rear view cables up under the headliner above windshield and then ran the rear view cable back up along drivers side headliner where door trim was remove and above side curtain airbags. Then the rear cam cable I ran across the liftgate top under the trim, popped off the rubber boots and up into liftgate and behind the plastic panel which pops off easily. I then mounted the front camera to the plastic housing under the rear view mirror for the rain sensors and the rear one stock to back glass. I would say took 3 hours total with a few smoke breaks and running in/out for tools. I got the Viofo A129 duo kit and loaded a custom firmware I found (if you want parking mode you need the 3 cable wire kit). * Unfortunately I didn't document it while I did it but I could make a video showing how/what I did for reference if anyone is interested.

    IDS/Scan tool?

I also bought this one was on sale a few days ago but was looking at this one also - https://www.amazon.com/VINT-TT55502-modified-Windows-ELMconfig-compatible/dp/B01N18TOFB/
  9. Re-wired my dashcam so can use parking mode, actually mounted the cameras and upgraded to a custom firmware on the Viofo A129 Duo
  10. Got it all re-wired up and came out really good. Here were a few helpful links from another forum: https://fuse-box.info/ford
  11. I thought about trying that one but went with a different one: Although not sure I would 'push' with it. One thing to consider is do you have front sensors? We had to re-do the one I had put on and it just clears the sensors but initially was setting them off.
  12. I tried this but it doesn't seem to work if I assume because I am already 'driving'. Do you have to turn the car off and back on or maybe I did something wrong not sure? * Nvm just read car has to be in park (mods please delete if possible) as info is already in this thread.
  13. Did you end up doing this and if so how did it work out? What are the other codes below?
  14. Is there any way to check this? Mine is 2016 and have to go back to the dealer for few minor repairs. Wondering if this should be asked for.
  15. Welcome. Curious what your take is on escape vs edge. Are you keeping both? I originally planned to get an escape but found an Edge that was what I really wanted.
  16. I recently installed a dash cam into my 2016 Edge Sport using a 2 wire kit and tapping into Fuse #23 (Delayed Accessories) as per a guide I found here. However I want to re-wire it to enable parking mode with a 3 wire kit. Basically ground and then one wire to a switched fuse and one to a constant on fuse. I am using the fuse panel up under the drivers side - does anyone have any advice one which two fuses to tap into for this? Thanks in advance.
  17. You can also use a tap on #23 in the fuse box up under the drivers side. I used that for my dashcam but now I want to add a wire for power when off for parking mode with low voltage cut off if anyone has any ideas (prefer to tap a fuse if possible).
  18. I had one in my last car came in handy a few times. I actually have to rewire the power now because I want to enable the parking mode but since I already did it shouldn't be as hard. Just waiting for my tints to cure so can put the cameras up.
  19. Any updates on ones that will work good on a 2016 Edge? Looks like AVS and Weather Tec are the two I am finding. (How do you Chamfer the edges?)
  20. Watched the video again and the answer was at the end of the video. Crazy how you had to file down the tips of the fuse and after cursing for an hour I realized I had to dremmel down the plastic head of the fuse adapter. Came out good thought - thanks!
  21. Think it came out ok... The hitch hasnt come yet but did get the hitch bumper guard today and will probably use a step up adapter. Sides were tinted 35% and windshield 80% ceramic:
  22. Omg that color and wheel combo! - I feel worse about my silver now ?
  23. What fuse(s) did you use and what type of fuses does the Edge have? Looking at the options for the dashcam I want I see ATO, Mini ATO, Mini ATO low profile, Micro 2 and Micro 3...
  24. If someone can measure between the exhaust tips would be much appreciated... I just got the call my car is ready and want to get this stuff on order. The rear hitch step guard comes in two lengths 38" and 48" trying to decide which will look best - Thanks!
