  1. l too got the same update, even though I never had an issue. Hopefully it fixed the glitch that other people were having
  2. johnmarkp. What year is your ST and how many miles do you have on it? I have a 2024 with about 12 thousand miles and have encountered a few rattle and shake noises myself. My recent one was a panoramic moonroof issue which I believe I have solved. Last year I made a post about a rattle/squeaking sound coming from the same area you are dealing with. It only occurred at higher speeds. I ended up tightening all the screws that hold that same splash shield and the noise went away. All the fender well splash shields are attached so poorly, I could see that being your issue. When Ford introduced the ST they stiffened up the suspension, and the end result was more rattles! Very irritating to say the least. Keep us posted.
  3. Interesting for all of us for sure. Mine came with the 21-inch Pirelli Pzeros. Awesome tires!! Definitely better with the 21s. Dealers pull a lot of switch and bait crap for sure! At the dealership, sitting side by side, mine looked so much better than the one without the package. I felt since I was buying an ST, I wanted it to look like an ST. The package made a big difference in overall performance of the vehicle. Ford tells you everything that is included in the upgrade. No need to compare. Well worth the money.
  4. Samurai Edge. So, you are saying that you have no documentation that your 2020 ST has the brake package???? So, you really don't know what a difference the upgrade would have made to your ST....... Yes, the tires help. With tires, bigger is better. But I would let you know that the brakes also made a major difference. I drove both. The salesman was nice enough to let me have a little fun to feel the difference. The stopping power was much more aggressive, the handling was better, most likely to the larger stabilizer bars and sticky tires. Far from apples to apples. To wear the ST badge, this package should have been standard. The performance brake and tire package was one of the most important upgrades Ford offered to the ST.
  5. All I can say is I drove 2 different ST's before I bought mine. The first one did not have the performance brake and tire package. The second one did. In addition, it had the panoramic sunroof. Night and day on the braking. Could not believe the difference. Only when you have driven an ST with or without the package can you appreciate it. And of course, the one thing we can probably all agree on, sad to see the Edge go away. They finally got it to point where it was an amazing performance SUV. Then they stopped production. 😔
  6. Not true. The ST performance brake and tire package is a big upgrade. And well worth it. I got it on my 2024 ST: 21-inch wheels Sticky Pirelli P Zeros Front and rear vented disc brakes with performance enhanced front rotors Brushless radiator fan helps the engine cooling during extreme acceleration and braking Vented brake shields Colorado Red painted calipers (looks really awesome) Individually not much, but as a total package. Well worth it.
  7. The other thing they discontinued with the ST was the hood insulator blanket. You can order one and install it yourself.
  8. Thanks. With everything being plastic these days, nice to know.
  9. What is the torque spec for the oil filter housing?
  10. Could not agree more with Todd92. So hard on the engine, starter, flywheel ring and battery. The turbocharger takes the biggest hit. Horrible Government Mandated feature!!! I too have managed to figure it in as a reflex when I turn off the parking brake. I noticed on my 8 year premium extended protection plan, the flywheel ring is not covered. That should open eyes to how abusive this feature is. Do not use it!
  11. The dial is kind of weird at first, but once you get used to it, you won't want to go back. I struggled with the same thing.
  12. Also try to Google it. Searching for specific threads/topics on this forum can be a nightmare. I have had much better luck using Google, which will then link you to related thread/post on this forum.
  13. I don't think the Sync version would change. Just glad they were able to remedy it with an OTA update.
  14. You have no idea how much I appreciate this forum and appreciate you. This community is a lifesaver. 💗
  15. I have a 2024 ST and just hit 11000 miles. I am planning on the the PTU and RDU at 15000 just to be safe. I am going to used Redline full synthetic because of all the good reviews it gets. 75W85 GL-5 for the PTU and MT-LV 70/75W GL-4 for the RDU.
  16. Bite the bullet and get OEM. I use my funnel regularly to add a fuel additive (Startron) before every fill up. Of course I have lost a couple of them over the years. But they are the only way to get fuel into the vehicle in an emergency. Trust me, 20 bucks is nothing when you need/depend on it.
  17. Wow that is major for sure! Just curious what type of environment you are driving in. Snow/rain etc. If you are driving in snow, do they salt the roads? I live in southern California and have a 2024 St without about 11,000 miles on it. Hope I don't see any rust/corrosion anytime soon. Yes, shame on Ford for neglecting something that is so important to the life of the vehicle.
  18. I spoke to soon. The other day I was driving and my touchscreen went black. Then it did a full re-boot. This is about the 4th or 5th time this has happened in the 2 years I have owned the vehicle. Luckily after it re-boots, everything seems to work fine. Can't wait to see what kind of issues I am going to have years down the road as parts for the edge become harder and harder to get! Luckily, I bought the Ford extended protection plan. I'm pretty sure I am going to need it! Despite all the glitches, I still love the vehicle.
  19. I know. It just doesn't make sense. How in the world could Ford be so careless. What are they doing wrong? No wonder everyone is buying the competition. I get it, with all the technology packed into today's vehicles, there will be issues. But Ford is screwing up big time. My ST has not had this issue. But there have been plenty of other small issues that make me wonder??? Did I buy a piece of Junk????
  20. Thank you for that info. Next service I'm going to have them check it. Luckily, I am still under warranty. Much appreciated!
  21. You have an ST. Not an Edge Sport. Ford has already done everything for you. 20 HP over the Sport. 10% stiffer in the front, 20 % in the back. Monotube shocks instead of twin tube. You have sport mode if you feel like you need it, even though 90% you don't. Also, you can double tap the ESC button and put the advancetrac into sport mode. A hidden gem with the ST The ST is everything the Sport wishes it could be. Don't change anything. Mine does have the Performance Wheel and Brake package which makes all the difference in the world. The Pirelli Pzeros turn it into a true performance SUV. . Trust me, you don't need all that tuning crap. You already have it. You have an ST
  22. Yes please give us much more detail. I would like to know what switch you are talking about.
  23. Seems like there was a time when extended warranties were a waste of money. Now days an extended warranty is probably one of the best investments you can make. Way too much crap on today's vehicles and guaranteed something will fail.
  24. I feel pretty confident doing my first PTU and RDU service. I'll probably take it to my dealer for the transmission service. More so, just concerned that they actually do it. And do it right! Being on this Forum gives me so much valuable information. Including a lot more confidence in doing some of my own maintenance. Thanks to everyone!
