  1. I thought this thread was 3 pages Yeah, I know the feeling lex. Everytime I open the hatch, I am just waiting for that bastid to ding.
  2. Blazing copper is where its at ! I always wondered what the gunmetal 18"s would look like on the copper........They look sweet! Congrats on the purchase and getting rid of the "snaab"
  3. Removed #14 fuse again and followed Lex' directions correctly this time. All is well, no chime upon full open. It's weird now when it opens I do not get the chime.....it's like something's missing. Thanks Lex !!!!
  4. I just found out that when I turn the power liftgate "off" It can be opened and close via fob. It will open and close by dash button. However, it will not open by using the button under liftgate handle. Is this SOP ? I thought off meant off. When I push the button under the handle, it will unlatch so it can manually be lifted. All other means of opening and closing work with power.
  5. I was the one who had the problem return. I cannot turn off the power liftgate because that doesnt work. Also, while I hit the close button from the trunk, got back in the car and proceeded to drive away, it opened by itself ! I almost lost a case of beer on RT. 202 !
  6. I wasn't aware of any "attack". Thanks. My liftgate problem still exists. Thanks for keeping this thread at the forefront, as I am still looking for a "cure".
  7. I only got it for the 911 assist. The VHR is generic garbage designed to make you think that if you do not get your Edge to a dealer for service in the next 48 hours......it will self-destruct. The only thing that will destruct is your wallet.
  8. It is beeping again at full open !!!! I turned the liftgate "off" via dashboard gauge menu, and it still worked just as if it was set to "on" !! I thought off meant off. I turned it off and hit the button on the dash and it opened, and dinged upon full open ! Now I'm really pissed. Oh, and my easy exit is not working.......again. Suminabitch ! BBF, you do not even own an Edge, and as they are very similar, there are slight differences that may make your "information" incorrect. I have learned far more by Lex's contributions than your "cut and paste" manual on a MKZ.
  9. I had to have the whole sync module replaced. It was fun seeing the dealers bitch with Ford as to what to do.
  10. BTW Lex, there is no actual sensor. It is similar to old garage doors, that is, when they feel pressure or something that is in the way being hit by the door, they reverse their direction.
  11. I have never had the power liftgate turned off. Just started "chiming" upon full open on it's own. For some reason, even though the gate works fine, this really annoys the piss out of me. The ford dealer could care less because the liftgate works fine :angry2:
  12. Have a new fuel pump installed.
  13. Set the parking brake and put car in reverse and back-up about 6 feet or so. This adjusts the parking drum.
  14. Where is the amp for the sub-woofer. If I just change out the sub with a higher quality unit than the stocker and not change the amp, will there be much of a difference ?
  15. Does anyone know why some leak and others don't ? Just like some tick after start-up and others do not ?
  16. Go to a different dealer. It seems the service advisor is making things very difficult for you , so that you will not come back. Call ford customer care and let them know about your disatisfaction.
  17. It cuts down on the noise of the intake air being sucked into the motor, not the exhaust.
  18. This is really weird. The door works fine, but it still bothers me that it started doing it recently.
  19. BTW, Lex, If I am ever in SoCal, I will look you up and buy you a beer. Your info on this site has helped me greatly and have made things easier on myself. I am more of an engine guy, whereas you seem to know electronics inside and out, which is my weak point. My wife was blown away by having the BAMR lights actually light up ! Post on brother.........Post on !
  20. Well , sync's operation is iffy with the next gen I-pod. It works flawlessly with the first gen I-pod. Also, my wife has an LG shine and it does not enable voice dial, you have to say the number. With her old phone, the motorola sliver.....works awesome. Was told by a douche at syncmyride.com that apple has to introduce an update in order for the next gen I-pod to work "good" on the microsoft sync system. Also, with the shine, sync will download the playlist from the phone rather than from i-pod. It really is a pita, so I told my wife to use her old sliver and use her old I-pod in the car.....if she does, sync works like a dream and is truly an awesome feature. Seems like they are a few years behind, considering the 2010 models also will not work "correctly" with the next gen I-pod. I really do love having "new" people in my car and talking to her and she actually listens........people are totally blown away at this. Makes me feel Pimp !
  21. Motorcraft filters are the best filters you can buy......period....and at a price 0f around $3 you can't beat 'em. Like I have said before, when ford makes a full synthetic.....it will be bought. Until then, I run Mobil 1 0W-20 and picked up 2mpg ! Pricey oil, but it pays for itself.......especially since gas prices are on the rise. Mobil 1 every 5,ooo miles and fuel system cleaner with every oil change, will reward you greatly in more ways than one. I am not independently wealthy by any means and bought this CUV for my wife and ,at the time, unborn baby girl for safety and peace of mind......spent more than my means and couldn't be happier. My blood runs blue and always will. Sorry for the rant here, but I have a case of the Monday blues and I am erasing them with some good 'ole Molson Ice. This is the best looking CUV on the market.....to be honest, If I had money, an Audi Q7 would be sitting in the driveway but the Edge is first in my book.......the wifes was the Audi. From the hairy lips of Dennis Gauge......"Happy Motoring ! "
  22. Thanks, I thought it may have meant "seat of the pants" which really didn't fit lex's reply. Like I have stated, liftgate never "dinged" 3 times upon full open.....only when button pushed to close.
  23. Thanks for the good input. I do see how tight the window fits up top and thought that it would be a problem. I might change my mind on these all together.
