Do you mean that Ford is using Ethylene Glycol (green stuff)? I heard that this stuff is not too friendly with aluminum and some gaskets.

I just went to a different dealer who did a real diagnosis. It turns out that the "Audio Control Module" is the culprit. It has to be ordered, naturally. I had called and cancelled the Sirius service and the guy on the phone said I could restore the service for 1/2 price. Price sounds somewhat better now.

I just tried to re-activate my factory installed Sirius Radio. After much frustration with phone calls to Sirius and talking to "helpers" in India I went to a dealer and found out that the antenna OR the Sirius unit itself is FUBAR. I was able to put the Sirius subscription on hold until I could get the problem resolved.

You are RIGHT, OPEN your hood and look on the RIGHT side by the RIGHT headlight and low and behold there are your HORNS. :rolleyes:

I have also received a similar letter for my 2009 SEL. They must know something we don't

I just checked my tail lamps and found the same burnt problem. I'll visit the dealer tomorrow for a fix, I HOPE.

2009 SEL FWD: last 336 miles, 25.7 MPG, Calculated, all highway. 14575 miles on vehicle.

I solved the problem, for me. I have a black dash that reflected line Lex's. I had the wife get some black felt from a craft store. They sell it by the yard. I made a pattern of the dash to windshield curvature and the defroster vents. Then I got some low profile velcro and used the hook side to fix the felt around the defroster vent and a couple other smaller pieces to keep the felt in place. If the felt is cut a little wider than the dash it can be tucked in between the dash and the side a pillars. Caution: do not attach very tight on the passenger side as this may interfere with the air bag deployment.

The pics were taken outside in full sun.

Has anyone had any pin stripe applied to their Edge? I saw an MKX the other day with pin stripe. Did any of these come from the factory with pin stripe? I was at my friends body shop today and we tried some double narrow silver on my tri color white. Depending on the angle of the sun on it it would almost disappear. What do you think?? :hyper:

I have a 2009 SEL. I've had my front ones out a couple times. I use a very small allen wrench and push in the little hole opposite of the button and pull it up. Works for me :hyper:

Find a "Friendly" Body Shop guy and have him order one from Ford. I goy mine for $20. :hyper:

I may want to use the GPS in another vehicle using the windshield suction cup and I need the power cord with its plug to power the GPS.

I made a mount for the coin tray. Took the rubber out and made an aluminum base and a mount post. Used the 2 existing screws and holes to mount the new plate and cut a slit in the rubber tray. GPS attaches with a wing nut. The puppies dress up the tray when the GPS is not installed. My GPS is a 7" Plenio from Freys. This unit is a 7 inch unit with touch screen controls. Its easy to see and has voice capabilities among other features. Black felt over the brushed chrome eliminates glare.

2009 SEL FWD over the last 6,500 miles has averaged 22 mpg (calculated on fuel purchased). I get about 19 MPG in city driving. This includes city stop and go, hills, flat land, highway. Just about all kinds of conditions.

What "wax" should I use on the black plastic on the bottoms of the doors?

My 09 Edge SEL does not have the garage door opener feature in the drivers side visor. If I can gat a visor with the garage door opener buttons can I install it? Is the wiring in place in the left A pillar? Any ideas??? :hyper:
